Chapter 657 Two Peas In a Pod
"Well, it's finally my turn, okay? You've had your sweet long ago, and I just started enjoying it," Isabella said, slinging her bag over her shoulder and walking away with a smug sway in her hips.
Watching Isabella's departing figure, Susan shook her head with a smile.
That evening, Susan cooked a bowl of pasta at home by herself.
But she had no appetite at all. After a few bites, she set it aside.
All night long, Susan's mind was filled with thoughts of Hayden and Spring.
When would she be able to see them again? Susan's heart was restless, aching with longing for them.
Susan couldn't hold back any longer. At ten o'clock, she started calling Seb's phone.
But after calling dozens of times, Seb still wouldn't answer the phone.
Susan knew he was deliberately ignoring her calls. Frustrated, she began sending him text messages one after another.
[Seb, I did date Andrew, but I haven't been in contact with him for years. If you think we have some kind of scheme, you're being ridiculous!]
[You can't deprive the kids of love because of your prejudice against me. It's unfair to them.]
[Seb, you're unfit to be a father. Didn't you see Hayden and Spring's tears? They need their mother, their biological mother, not someone you randomly pick to replace me!]
[Seb, are you ignoring me on purpose, or did you not see my messages?]
[Seb, for the sake of our history, please let me see the children. I'm begging you.]
[I'm begging you, please?]
[I'll agree to any condition you set.]
[Seb, you're such a jerk!]
She sent numerous messages, but it was like they disappeared into thin air.
Finally, Susan, frustrated, leaned against the headboard.
She hadn't slept at all the previous night, and by midnight, she fell asleep.
Susan was suddenly awakened by the sound of the doorbell!
She turned on the light, sat up, and frowned.
Who would come looking for her at this hour? The clock on the wall showed it was past midnight.
Living alone, she immediately felt a bit nervous and scared.
After hesitating for a moment, the doorbell was replaced by loud knocking.
The knocking was very loud.
The next moment, Susan suddenly realized who was knocking on her door in the middle of the night.
It was him, it had to be him!
A surge of hope coursed through her. Maybe, just maybe, she could reason with him.
The next moment, Susan got out of bed barefoot and quickly walked out of the bedroom.
As she left the bedroom, she glanced down at her camisole nightgown, felt it was inappropriate, and quickly went back to throw on a bathrobe before running out.
The person outside was still pounding on the door. Susan looked through the peephole.
Sure enough, standing outside was Seb, wearing a white shirt with a black suit jacket draped over his arm.
Without thinking, Susan reached out and opened the door!
Seb had clearly been drinking, and quite a lot. He leaned against the door frame, his drunken eyes fixed on Susan.
His cold gaze still made Susan feel a bit chilly. The next moment, she wrapped her bathrobe tighter around herself and stepped back, saying kindly, "Come in."
Seb didn't stand on ceremony. He stepped inside, tossed his suit jacket onto the coffee table, and turned to sit on the couch!
Susan saw Seb's head leaning back on the couch, his eyes barely open, looking very drunk and tired.
Seeing this, Susan said, "I'll get you a glass of water."
With that, Susan went into the kitchen.
After pouring a glass of water, Susan stood in the kitchen, hesitating for a moment, thinking about how to get Seb to agree to let her visit the kids as usual.
But after thinking for a long time, Susan still had no idea, so she resolutely carried the water out of the kitchen.
Susan bent down and placed the glass of water on the coffee table in front of Seb. "Have some water."
At this moment, Seb sat up straight, his deep eyes glaring at Susan, then he placed his phone on the coffee table and said, "What? No more cursing at me?"
Susan glanced at the phone on the coffee table, knowing he had seen her messages.
"You wouldn't answer my calls or reply to my messages. I got a bit anxious, so... I'm sorry." In the end, Susan chose to apologize.
She knew now was not the time to be stubborn with him. She just wanted to see Hayden and Spring regularly. As long as he agreed, she didn't mind enduring some frustration and humiliation.
Seb's lips curled into a sneer, and he glanced towards the open bedroom door, saying sarcastically, "Just you? Andrew didn't come to keep you company? Didn't you two celebrate your victory together?"
Hearing this, Susan's face turned grim!
The next moment, Susan said righteously, "Seb, let me reiterate, I have nothing to do with Andrew, and I will never have anything to do with him in the future!"
"Don't you think it's a bit late to clarify now? One of you took half of Rylee's shares, and the other took a lot of my real estate. You two have already gotten quite a bit, but why are you still not satisfied? Now you want family time, to enjoy the kids' company? Susan, aren't you being too greedy?" Seb's eyes glared at Susan.
Susan knew that once he made up his mind about something, he wouldn't change it without solid evidence.
So tonight, trying to negotiate regular visits with the kids was impossible. The next moment, Susan pointed towards the door and said, "I don't want to talk to someone as self-righteous as you. Please leave my house immediately!"
Seb's eyes dangerously stared at Susan wrapped in her bathrobe, his hands clenched into fists.
His gaze made Susan very uneasy, but she still tried to bolster her courage, pretending to be calm as she said, "Please leave!"
At this moment, Seb staggered to his feet and suddenly sneered, "Is Andrew coming back soon, so you're in a hurry to kick me out? What a pair of morally corrupt people!"
The last sentence was said through gritted teeth.
"What did you say?" Susan couldn't take it anymore.
"I said you and Andrew are a perfect match! Two peas in a pod!" he roared.
Furious, Susan looked around and saw the glass of hot water she had just poured on the coffee table. Without hesitation, she grabbed the glass and threw the water at Seb's face!
