Chapter 313 A Turn of Events

Hearing Catherine's helpless words, Susan was at a loss for how to comfort her.

Ever since she became a mom, Susan really got how amazing mothers are. They'd put up with anything just to keep their kids safe and happy.

Right now, all Susan could do was silently hand over a tissue.

Catherine took the tissue, wiped her tears, and said, "But I feel like they won't be causing trouble for much longer. Henry isn't even staying at home anymore, and he wasn't in his parents' place either. He doesn't even answer his phone. Once Dorothy can't find Henry, I guess things will settle down!"

Hearing this, Susan nodded, hoping this mess would blow over soon.

That evening, Seb sent a car to bring Spring over. After not seeing each other for a few days, Spring clung to Susan's neck and wouldn't let go. Even when Susan went to the bathroom, Spring wanted to follow. Susan's eyes got a bit teary, and she promised herself to spend every evening with Spring from now on.

Even though it had only been two days, Susan noticed that Spring seemed to be able to run now, albeit a bit wobbly. Susan felt a sense of relief as Spring was growing up day by day.

The next morning, Susan walked into the office and sat at her desk.

At that moment, Elliott suddenly stood up and muttered, "Looks like someone's about to get the boot."

Several female colleagues heard this and naturally knew it was directed at Susan. They all secretly laughed.

Susan knew it wasn't really these female colleagues who were ostracizing her; they had just believed Fiona's words and thought she wasn't a good person, which was why they discriminated against her. So, Susan didn't blame them; she just focused on doing her job well.

But Elliott was truly detestable.

However, as a woman, she could only endure in this situation, even though she was seething with anger.

Just then, Fiona walked in from outside, her eyes immediately landing on Susan.

Susan looked up and noticed that Fiona didn't look too happy. She thought, 'Who Fiona is mad at? She's probably going to take it out on me.'

But it didn't matter; she couldn't stay at this company anyway. Let Fiona mock her this time; there would be other opportunities to avenge in the future.

Sure enough, the next moment, Fiona said to Susan, "Susan, come in for a moment. Oh, and bring the budget proposal you worked on!"

After saying that, Fiona quickly walked into her office in her high heels.

Susan then stood up and picked up the thick budget proposal.

At that moment, Elliott suddenly walked over, knocked on Susan's desk, and sneered. "Susan, you're definitely not going to pass this budget proposal. Should we throw you a farewell party?"

This made the female employees in the office laugh.

Susan looked up and coldly stared at Elliott's annoying face, saying, "No need. You should think about who will be throwing you a farewell party."

After that, Susan walked away from her desk.

Elliott was stunned for a moment and then shouted at Susan's back, "Hey, what do you mean?"

Susan ignored him. As she walked to Fiona's office door, she suddenly made a decision.

Fiona was one thing; she couldn't do anything about Fiona. Their conflict was purely work-related, and there was no deep-seated hatred.

But Elliott was different; he was a scumbag. Even if she had to leave, she would take him down with her.

In an instant, Susan thought of Linda, the business director and Fiona's superior, who had hired her.

She planned to go find Linda in the afternoon and formally report Elliott for harassing her during work hours. Even if she couldn't get Elliott fired, she would ruin his reputation at Pioneer Accounting Firm. Actually everyone in Group Six knew what kind of person Elliott was; they just gave him some face at the firm.

Susan knocked on the door twice and then walked into Fiona's office with the documents.

Fiona glanced at Susan and gestured for her to sit down.

Susan sat down, looking straight at Fiona, ready for Fiona to humiliate her.

What could Fiona say? Probably just that she was incompetent and unfit for the job. If Fiona dared to insult her character, Susan wouldn't stand for it. After all, she was just a probationary employee. If it really came to an argument, it would be Fiona who would be embarrassed. Fiona, who had a smooth career here, wouldn't want to change jobs, while Susan would only lose three weeks of hard-earned money.

Then Fiona said to Susan, "In half an hour, the project manager from Capgemini Software Company will come to discuss the budget proposal with you. You should have corrected all the issues over the weekend, right?"

Susan was a bit stunned by this.

Wasn't the budget supposed to be either sent back for revision or outright rejected? Why did she now have to discuss it directly with the project manager?

Susan felt a bit frustrated because the project manager from Capgemini Software Company was Sophia.

It was probably because Dominic had told Sophia about her complaining to him. Sophia wasn't a good person and was likely coming to settle the score.

Fiona casually flipped through Susan's budget proposal, then tossed it back to her impatiently, saying, "Alright, go prepare. I'll notify you when they arrive."

"Okay." Susan nodded and left with the budget proposal.

Back at her desk, Susan thought, 'Going to meet Sophia would be like directly becoming her punching bag. Sophia was a major client of Pioneer Accounting Firm, and if I offended her, I would have to bear the responsibility.'

Susan decided to face it head-on. Since Sophia was coming to give her trouble, avoiding her wouldn't solve anything.

Half an hour later, Fiona came out of her office and said to Susan, "The project manager from Capgemini Software Company is here. Come with me to the conference room."
