Chapter 598 Backup
"What are you doing?" Susan reacted with extreme disgust when Andrew's hand touched her.
Seeing that he seemed to have been drinking, Susan didn't want to get entangled with him. She pushed his hand away and turned to leave.
However, Andrew grabbed her hand and, while talking, started dragging Susan towards the greenery area of the neighborhood.
"Let go of me, did you hear?" Susan tried to struggle, but his grip was too strong, and she couldn't break free no matter how hard she tried.
Andrew pulled Susan under a dense tree and urgently said, "Susan, do you know? The only person I've truly loved all these years is you. I've always thought about you!"
Hearing this, Susan felt both angry and amused. "Andrew, if you loved me, why did you abandon me and go to Averlake with Rylee back then?"
"I just wanted to change my fate," Andrew said righteously.
At this moment, Susan sneered, "Actually, the person you love the most isn't me, nor Rylee, but yourself. To live a better life, you can betray anyone. Andrew, you don't deserve to talk about love!"
Exposed, Andrew became furious, glaring at Susan with vicious eyes and shouting, "Is it wrong for me to want a better life? Didn't you choose Seb because he was rich? Susan, stop pretending to be noble. We're the same kind of people, so we belong together. If you listen to me, I'll treat you well in the future. I'm already tired of Rylee. I find you more attractive."
Andrew, reeking of alcohol, lowered his head to kiss Susan's lips.
Smelling the unpleasant stench of alcohol, Susan felt nauseous.
Sensing his intention, Susan reached out to push Andrew's face away. But the more she struggled, the angrier Andrew became. He took two steps forward, pinning Susan against the tree trunk, kissing her randomly while trying to tear off her dress.
Susan didn't expect him to act so recklessly in the neighborhood. Both ashamed and angry, she struggled and threatened, "Andrew, let go of me, or I'll scream!"
"Go ahead, scream. Call everyone over. They'll just say you're an unfaithful divorced woman seducing men everywhere!" Andrew said viciously.
Hearing this, Susan felt that Andrew had gone mad.
"Aren't you afraid Rylee will find out?" Susan frowned tightly.
Andrew sneered, "Rylee is so in love with me right now; I'm her rock. All I have to do is whisper a few well-placed words about your seductive ways, and she'll believe anything."
Hearing this, Susan felt Andrew was truly shameless and terrifying.
"Andrew, you make me sick!" Susan said angrily.
Andrew smirked coldly. "Like I already said, We're two sides of the same coin, Susan. Stop pretending to be noble. We are meant for each other!"
With that, Andrew continued to kiss Susan's face randomly. Susan struggled desperately, wanting to scream, but Andrew's earlier threats echoed in her ears.
He was right, wasn't he? Who would believe her, a divorced woman, over the word of a respected businessman?
But Susan didn't want Andrew to take advantage of her, so she pushed him with her hands and kicked him with her high heels. But it was useless; a weak woman couldn't fend off a strong man. She had verified this countless times with Seb.
"Andrew, you bastard, let go of me! Help!" In the end, Susan had no choice but to shout loudly.
However, Andrew didn't care at all. He even tore her dress, and the sound of fabric ripping filled the air.
At that moment, an arm reached over and punched Andrew in the face!
Andrew staggered and let go of Susan's hand.
Seeing this, Susan quickly moved several steps to the side, hugging her disheveled clothes, trembling all over.
At this moment, a pair of large hands gripped Susan's trembling shoulders, asking nervously, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Susan looked up and saw the person who had come to her rescue.
Seeing George, Susan felt a mix of emotions. Whenever she was in danger or trouble, he always seemed to be there for her.
Andrew touched his lips, finding blood on his fingers. Under the dim streetlight, he carefully examined George and recognized him.
"George, why are you meddling?" Andrew questioned.
Hearing this, George pointed at Andrew and angrily rebuked, "Andrew, you're the son-in-law of the Anderson family, and now you're treating your sister-in-law like this. How will you explain this to Rylee? If you know what's good for you, leave now, or I'll call Rylee and Seb right away and see how you handle it!"
Andrew hesitated, clearly wary of George's words.
"This isn't over," he snarled, pointing a finger at George. "You'll regret this."
With that, Andrew turned to leave.
After taking a few steps, Andrew stopped, then suddenly turned around, squinting at George and Susan, and laughed. "I get it. I heard you and Susan had something going on before, right? Now that she's divorced from Seb, you're moving in for the kill. How convenient."
Hearing this, Susan frowned tightly.
George stepped forward, grabbed Andrew's collar, and said fiercely, "Say that again?"
"Why not? It's the truth, isn't it? I might have a hard time explaining to Rylee, but how will you explain to Seb? He's your cousin, and now you want to be with his ex-wife. How interesting!" Andrew pushed George away and laughed.
Then, Andrew looked at Susan and sneered, "No wonder you were indifferent to me. Turns out you had him as a backup. Susan, I really admire you. I didn't expect you to be so charming, attracting so many men."
Susan frowned tightly, glaring at Andrew with hatred, but she didn't respond because she didn't want to argue with such a person. Andrew disgusted her to the core.
