Chapter 81 Teaching Cynthia a Lesson

Upon seeing Henry and Susa entangled not far away, Seb's face visibly darkened.

A few seconds later, he rolled up the car window and told Leon, "Back to the office."

"Yes, sir." Leon didn't dare say more, just turned the steering wheel and drove off.

On the other side, hearing Susan's self-deceptive words, Henry frowned and asked, "Is this really what you want?"

Susan knew this was her chance to make Henry give up completely, so she smiled and said, "Living in a mansion, driving luxury cars, and wearing gold and silver is every woman's dream. Now that I have all that, what more could I want?"

Henry let go of Susan's shoulders, hurt in his eyes, then sneered, "So you're that kind of woman. I guess I misjudged you."

"So don't think about me anymore. You deserve someone better." Susan gave him a slight smile and turned to leave.

She didn't look back, not wanting to give him any more hope. She walked forward with her head held high.

Deep down, Susan still felt a bit sad. Love is like that: the person you love doesn't love you, and the person who loves you, you don't love them.

She sincerely hoped Henry could find his own happiness. She had a feeling Dorothy had a crush on Henry. Actually, Dorothy could have given Henry Susan's phone number, but she didn't. It seemed Dorothy also wanted to date him.

Although Henry was someone worth a lifetime commitment, the significant age gap between him and Dorothy, coupled with his past interest in Susan, made Henry a less than ideal dating option.

The following week, Susan didn't hear from Seb, and she felt strange. Why wasn't he in a hurry to get a divorce? Or did he want her to get healthier first?

One day, Susan couldn't refuse Isabella's invitation and was dragged to the mall.

"You should come out more, shop around, buy some nice clothes and bags, and then you'll feel better, you know?" Isabella said, trying to cheer Susan up.

"Alright, I'll buy a few more bags today," Susan said with a smile.

She hadn't used the bank card Seb gave her for a long time. It would be a waste not to use it. Once she was no longer his wife, she wouldn't be entitled to use that card.

Actually, Susan had a small thought in her mind. Since the card was linked to Seb's phone number, every time she made a purchase, the transaction record would be sent to his phone. Maybe this could remind Seb of her presence, reminding him that he still had her, and he hadn't seen her for many days.

Passing by the jewelry section, Isabella pointed to a diamond necklace in the display case and said, "This necklace is beautiful, but it's too expensive—$100,000. I'll buy it when I have the money."

Hearing this, Susan smiled. Then, she inadvertently looked up and suddenly saw two familiar figures at the diamond ring counter not far away. She couldn't help but freeze on the spot!

"What are you looking at?" Following Susan's gaze, Isabella also saw Cynthia and Seb. She froze for a moment, then angrily said, "What bad luck, running into them while shopping."

Susan involuntarily took a few steps closer to Cynthia and Seb, her beautiful eyes filled with deep sorrow.

When she got close, Susan stopped. She saw the saleswoman behind the counter smiling as she introduced the products.

"Sir, ma'am, are you choosing wedding rings? We have world-renowned brands, top-notch designs, and the highest quality diamonds."

"I'd like to see this one," Cynthia said, pointing to a ring in the display case.

"Ma'am, you have a great eye. This ring symbolizes a perfect match, and the diamond is of the highest quality. However, because it's so expensive, it's been here for over a year without anyone buying it," the saleswoman said with a smile.

Cynthia and Seb were here to buy wedding rings. It seemed they were already planning their wedding. It looked like the day Susan would be abandoned was near!

Susan stared at Seb's profile for a few seconds, then quickly turned and walked back to Isabella.

Isabella quickly comforted her, "Susan, let it go. Seb is not destined to be yours."

"Don't worry, I have no feelings for him. Why would I care?" Susan said with a cold smile, then turned and pointed to the diamond necklace Isabella had been eyeing. She said to the saleswoman, "I'll take this one!"

With that, she handed the bank card to the saleswoman.

Seeing Susan buy a $100,000 diamond necklace, Isabella couldn't help but whisper, "Are you crazy, buying such an expensive necklace?"

"Anyway, someone else is paying for it, and it's the last time. Of course, I have to treat myself," Susan forced a smile, though she knew how dejected she felt inside.

Soon, the transaction was complete. Without even glancing at Cynthia and Seb, Susan took the bank card and the diamond necklace, then turned around and pulled Isabella away from the mall.

Meanwhile, Cynthia put on the diamond ring and looked up at Seb with a smile. "Seb, what do you think?"

Seb didn't even look at the ring on her hand. With a cold face, he said, "Didn't you say you wanted a birthday gift? How did it turn into buying a ring?"

"I was just looking. I didn't mean to buy a ring," Cynthia quickly took off the ring and handed it back to the saleswoman, but her face couldn't hide her disappointment.

The saleswoman took back the ring and put it back in its place, her expression showing disdain.

At that moment, Seb received a text message on his phone.

He looked down and opened it, frowning slightly, then began to look around.

"Seb, what's wrong?" Cynthia asked, stepping forward.

"Here's a card for you. The PIN is my birthday. You can pick any gift under $100,000," Seb said, handing a bank card to her before turning and leaving in a hurry.

"Seb, where are you going?" Cynthia called after him, but he didn't look back and quickly walked toward the mall exit.

Isabella accompanied Susan into a taxi, which quickly drove into the traffic.

"I'm sorry. I wanted to cheer you up, but it ended up making you unhappy," Isabella said, feeling guilty.

"Don't be silly. It's not your fault," Susan forced a smile.

"Just thinking about it makes me angry. I should have gone over and taught Cynthia a lesson!" Isabella said, clenching her fists.

Susan didn't respond to Isabella's words. If she had gone over, she would have only humiliated herself.
