Chapter 607 Bitterness

Susan was very annoyed by Andrew's guesses because he was always right.

Andrew was quite smart; otherwise, he wouldn't have earned his PhD. The most frustrating part was that he knew her very well. They had been together for three years, he knew her far too well. She, on the other hand, felt like she'd never truly understood him.

"You're overthinking it. My client is here, and I just came to pick up a document. I happened to have a stomachache, felt terrible, and shed a few tears. Satisfied?" Susan said impatiently.

But Andrew smiled and said, "Yes, you might really be here just to pick up a document."

Andrew glanced at the document in Susan's hand and then changed the subject, saying, "But you happened to see Seb here, and of course, the most popular singer in Maple Valley, Esme, who was with him, right?"

Hearing this, Susan frowned. Andrew didn't get his PhD for nothing; he could immediately deduce what had just happened.

"You must have seen the recent reports, right? Seb and Esme have been getting along well these days, attending events and parties together, even dining together. Seb even attended Esme's concert to support her. I bet it won't be long before he stays over at Esme's place!" Andrew sneered.

Andrew was indeed good at psychological manipulation. Mentioning Esme made Susan very uncomfortable.

Susan knew that Andrew's words were meant to make her hate Seb, so she would help him against Seb.

Susan wouldn't fall for his trick, so she smiled and said, "What? Are you interested in Esme too? But it's no wonder; Esme is indeed beautiful. Many men can't take their eyes off her, and it seems you're no different."

"What do you mean by that? When did I ever show interest in Esme?" Andrew got anxious upon hearing this.

Seeing his anxious look, Susan sneered, "Your current status is different now. It's not impossible for you to be with Esme. But it seems Esme is only interested in Seb."

"Do you really have no feelings for Seb anymore? He's openly showing affection with another woman, and it doesn't bother you?" Andrew asked, frustrated.

Susan smiled lightly. "We're divorced. He can be with whoever he wants; it has nothing to do with me. Andrew, thank you for your concern, but I have to disappoint you. Even though Seb and I are separated, I won't do anything against him. I still have that much integrity. Goodbye!"

With that, Susan pushed Andrew's arm away and turned to leave.

Watching Susan's departing figure, Andrew squinted his eyes, took out his phone, and made a call.

"Keep an eye on Susan. Every move, every meal, every sleep. And find out what's causing the nausea. I want to know if there's a possibility she's pregnant," he instructed the person on the other end of the phone.

Susan walked quite a distance before stopping.

Feeling very tired, she didn't dare to walk further, fearing it might affect the baby in her belly. So she temporarily entered a café and ordered a juice.

Leaning on the large sofa, Susan felt exhausted.

She never dreamed she would run into Seb today, and he even hugged and kissed her.

She touched her lips and then hugged herself, still feeling his warmth.

Seb didn't know that when he hugged her, he was also hugging their third child.

Perhaps six years ago, Susan could never have imagined that she would have three children with Seb, the man she had randomly picked up at a bar.

A sudden thought struck her. She hoped it was a boy, a boy who looked just like Hayden, just like Seb. A little piece of him to hold onto.

Seb's reaction today told her he hadn't fallen for Esme's charms. It brought a bittersweet ache to her heart.

Happy because he hadn't forgotten her and still loved her; sad because if no woman could win his heart, he wouldn't be happy and would always be gloomy, which Susan didn't want to see.

So, Susan felt very conflicted.

In the following days, Susan lived her life as usual.

She didn't let herself get too tired, nor did she let herself be too idle.

Strangely, since that day, Susan had been paying attention to the gossip newspapers in Maple Valley and found that there were no more reports about Seb and Esme. Even if there were news, it was only about Esme. Susan knew Seb must have intervened, so the newspapers didn't dare to publish anything about him and Esme anymore.

However, the news about Prosperity Group entering the jewelry industry was everywhere, and Esme, as the spokesperson for Prosperity Group jewelry, was now very famous in Maple Valley's entertainment industry. Every day, there were overwhelming advertisements featuring Esme. With the support of Prosperity Group, Esme had become very famous in Maple Valley.

One afternoon, Isabella came to Susan's office for a chat.

"Isn't it strange? There hasn't been any news about Seb in the newspapers these days, but Esme is everywhere," Isabella gossiped.

Hearing this, Susan smirked and said, "If it's all gossip every day, wouldn't the world be in chaos?"

"I don't think Seb is the kind of man who falls for every beautiful woman he sees. Think about it, many women wanted to be with him before, but he never got involved with any of them. I think he still only has you in his heart!" Isabella laughed.

Hearing this, Susan lowered her head and said nothing.

Seeing this, Isabella immediately slapped her own face. "Look at my big mouth, bringing up this topic again."

Susan smiled and said, "Stop talking about others and think about yourself. You're in your thirties now. If you don't get married soon, you'll be single forever."

"I knew you would turn this on me," Isabella said, then fell silent, looking out the window, lost in thought.

"I advise you to seize the opportunities you have, or else you'll end up with nothing," Susan suddenly said.
