Chapter 1121 Baby, You Have to Be Strong

Cecilia hadn't eaten anything in the morning, and when she vomited, it was so severe that she threw up bile.

After vomiting for about ten minutes, Cecilia leaned against the bench, gasping for breath, feeling utterly exhausted.

Cecilia wiped the dirt off her nose and mouth with a tissue, feeling a bit relieved.

Luckily, she hadn't vomited in front of Daryl, or else her pregnancy would have been exposed.

When Daryl had just tried to end things with her by offering money and a house, Cecilia made a decision in her heart.

She would no longer tell him about her pregnancy. She didn't want him to think she was using the kid as a bargaining chip. She wanted a clean break from him and planned to raise the kid on her own, with no further ties to him.

Thinking about the hardships ahead, Cecilia didn't flinch or feel afraid, but the thought of her kid growing up without a father made her heart ache.

Cecilia touched her belly and silently spoke to her baby, "Baby, you have to be strong. Without a dad, I'll give you all my love, but you'll have to endure hardships with me in the future!"

Sitting on the bench, feeling weak all over, Cecilia watched the bustling traffic on the road not far away and suddenly felt that the world was so big, yet there was no place for her.

At that moment, Cecilia missed Rainey and Quentin and wanted to return to her hometown.

But this thought only flashed in her mind for a moment before she dismissed it.

Quentin's house was just a small two-bedroom place, with Quentin and his wife in one room and Rainey in the other. Besides, Quentin's wife was also pregnant. She had no place to stay if she went back, and she couldn't find a good job in the small town. Moreover, being unmarried and pregnant, she would only bring shame to her family in a town where everyone was either a relative or a neighbor.

Cecilia was planning to rent a cheap place first and figure things out later when her phone suddenly rang without any warning.

Without thinking much, Cecilia answered the call. "Hello?"

"Cecilia, it's Susan." Susan's voice quickly came from the other end.

"Susan, hello." Cecilia cleared her throat, not wanting Susan to hear the difference in her voice.

"Cecilia, where are you now? I'll come to find you," Susan said directly.

"I..." Hearing this, Cecilia looked around, not knowing how to answer.

"Tell me your address. I'm already on my way," Susan said urgently.

Hearing this, Cecilia, although reluctant to trouble Susan, felt a need for help in Maple Valley, where she was unfamiliar with everything.

Half an hour later, Susan appeared in a corner of the park with a breakfast in hand.

"Susan!" Seeing Susan approaching, Cecilia stood up.

Susan took a look at Cecilia's pale face and the suitcase beside her, frowned slightly, and handed her the breakfast. "Have the breakfast firstt."

"Okay." Cecilia nodded.

Taking the breakfast, Cecilia began to eat without hesitation. She was really hungry so that her stomach hurt. Pregnancy was a strange thing; although she couldn't eat and felt like vomiting at the sight of food, once she was hungry, she felt anxious.

Cecilia quickly devoured a sandwich, and Susan handed her a bottle of water with a smile.

Cecilia took the water and drank a few sips.

Then, Cecilia looked at Susan and asked, puzzled, "Susan, what's the matter? You're pregnant, and you came all this way to find me."

Sensing Cecilia's confused eyes, Susan said, "I suddenly got a call from Daryl. He said you left alone and asked me to find you to make sure you're okay."

Hearing this, Cecilia was stunned for a moment, then sneered. "He's probably afraid that if something happens to me, he'll be accused of murder, right?"

But Cecilia didn't expect Daryl to call Susan, feeling conflicted. 'Does he still care about me? So what? This should be the last time he cares, right?'

"You're being too harsh. When he called me, I could tell he was really worried," Susan said, trying to persuade her.

Cecilia lowered her head and remained silent for a while before saying expressionlessly, "He's getting engaged to Skylar tomorrow."

Hearing this, Susan was stunned.

"How do you know? Could it be a rumor?" Susan asked, frowning.

"He told me himself. It's true," Cecilia said.

Hearing this, Susan stared at Cecilia in disbelief, not expecting the rumor to be true.

The next moment, Susan frowned and asked, "Cecilia, did you tell Daryl about your pregnancy? Didn't he say anything about the baby?"

Cecilia shook her head lightly. "Susan, he's already made his decision. Telling him about my pregnancy would only humiliate myself. Besides, he said I don't deserve to have his kid. The one he loves is Skylar."

Although her tone was calm, Cecilia's tears had already started to fall.

Seeing Cecilia's continuous tears, Susan felt very uncomfortable. She knew a bit about Cecilia and Daryl's situation. Daryl had never been able to forgive Cecilia's mistake. They had feelings for each other, but fate had turned them into mutual tormentors.

"I think he misunderstands you. No, I need to go talk to him," Susan said, standing up suddenly.

Seeing this, Cecilia quickly grabbed Susan's hand. "Don't!"

Hearing this, Susan looked down at Cecilia, who was shaking her head, and frowned.

"Susan, don't go! Daryl and I are impossible together. I don't want him to look down on me. I will never bother him again," Cecilia said, staring at Susan with determination.

Susan understood Cecilia's feelings very well because similar things had happened to her. The pain, helplessness, and sadness were unforgettable.

The next moment, Susan stepped forward and hugged Cecilia, whose shoulders were still trembling.

The helpless Cecilia finally had a shoulder to lean on temporarily, and she cried her heart out, wanting to release all her sadness.

"Cecilia, what are your plans?" After a while, seeing that Cecilia had calmed down, Susan asked with concern.

Cecilia let go of Susan, sat up straight, and answered firmly, "I want to have this baby and raise it on my own."

"I figured you would decide that. Cecilia, you're a determined girl. I don't need to tell you about the hardships and possible difficulties of raising a kid alone. As a friend, I support your decision," Susan said, patting Cecilia's hand.
