Chapter 882 People Who Love Each Other Stay Together
"What were we just doing in the room?" Seb asked with a smirk, noticing Susan's blush.
Susan shot him an annoyed look and pushed him away. "You know exactly what we were doing, so stop teasing!"
Seb chuckled but then grabbed her hand, his face turning serious. "Susan, I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" Susan asked, her nerves kicking in as she saw his serious expression.
She really couldn't handle any more bad news right now; her heart was already fragile from everything she'd been through.
Seb took a deep breath and said, "Even though Ellie and I were together for over three months, we never..."
Susan cut him off, not wanting to hear about Ellie. "Let's not talk about the past, okay? What's important is that we're together now."
She was anxious. She didn't want to hear anything about Seb and Ellie. She was jealous, sure, but she knew the past couldn't be changed.
Seb smiled softly. "Do you even know what I was going to say? Why are you so quick to interrupt?"
Susan looked at him, confused. "What do you want to say?"
Seb held her shoulders and said, "Even though Ellie and I lived together as an engaged couple, we never had sex."
Susan's eyes widened in shock.
Seb laughed and pinched her nose. "Why do you look so surprised? Like I'm some kind of alien."
Susan knew Seb wouldn't lie to her, but it was hard to believe. They'd been together for so long, living together day and night, and nothing happened?
"You don't believe me?" Seb asked, frowning slightly.
Susan remembered the last time she left Maple Valley. Ellie had invited her to the villa to show off her relationship with Seb. They were all lovey-dovey, and Seb had even carried Ellie upstairs. It seemed like they were definitely going to have sex that day. Could it be that nothing happened?
Looking into Seb's eyes, Susan decided to believe him. Whether he was telling the truth or just trying to make her happy, she chose to trust him. Ellie was irrelevant now; she wouldn't let her ruin their love.
Susan smiled. "Of course, I believe you. Now, let's get downstairs. Everyone's probably waiting for us!"
She pulled Seb towards the door.
Seb smiled, feeling relieved.
A minute later, they walked into the dining room hand in hand.
The room was brightly lit, and Hayden, Spring, Isabella, and Cecilia were already seated at the table, which was loaded with delicious-looking dishes on the table.
When Seb and Susan made their grand entrance, the reactions of those present were remarkably diverse.
Hayden and Spring were thrilled because of the delicious food and the presence of their parents. Meanwhile, Cecilia simply watched them calmly, but Isabella couldn't help but throw a sarcastical glance Seb's way.
"What? You managed to win Susan over with just a few words?" Isabella asked coldly.
Seb stayed quiet, but Susan stepped forward with a smile. "Isabella, Seb's got his memory back. Don't blame him; he couldn't help it."
Seb squeezed Susan's hand a bit tighter, their eyes meeting in silent understanding.
Isabella and Cecilia were both taken aback.
"Congratulations to both of you for finally ending up together," Cecilia said happily.
Isabella was happy for Susan but still had a bone to pick with Seb. "Seb, if you forget Susan again, I won't let you off easy!"
Seb smiled at Susan and said, "We'll remarry as soon as possible and never be apart again!"
Susan looked up in surprise, seeing the seriousness in Seb's eyes.
She lowered her head and smiled.
Isabella teased, "You think you can remarry Susan that easily? This time, you'll have to jump through hoops!"
Seb smiled confidently. "Even if I have to go through hell and back, I'm willing."
Susan was touched, her eyes glistening with tears. Seb wasn't one to express himself easily, so his words meant a lot.
Just then, a sweet, childlike voice piped up from the dining room. "Isabella, don't bully Daddy, he'll be upset."
Everyone turned to see Spring sitting in a high chair, her big eyes wide and serious.
Everyone burst into laughter.
Seb let go of Susan's hand, walked over to Spring, and picked her up, saying dotingly, "Spring is so good to me."
Seeing Seb and Spring so happy, Susan smiled with satisfaction.
Isabella, seeing this, couldn't help but say, "Alright, I'm the bad guy now, and they're the happy family!"
"Isabella," Susan called out, a bit helpless.
Cecilia patted Isabella's hand gently. "Alright, her family's back together. Don't be difficult."
Isabella softened and looked at Susan. "I'm just looking out for you!"
"I know. I'll make sure he treats me well," Susan whispered to Isabella with a smile, glancing at Seb holding Spring.
Isabella finally smiled but added, "You have to be tough on him in the future, or he'll repeat mistake, and you'll be the one who suffers."
"Can we eat now?" Cecilia quickly changed the subject to lighten the mood.
