Chapter 821 fiancée Fiancée
Seb shot Susan a cold look and said, "We divorced ages ago. If the alimony isn't cutting it, I can bump it up a bit, but getting back together? Not happening. Get that straight."
Susan's brows knitted together, leaving her speechless.
She used to think he got her better than anyone. He'd once tried to hand over a ton of property to her, and she'd only taken a few. How could she now be squabbling over a bit of alimony?
Just then, Ellie stood up, walked over to Susan, and said gently, "Susan, I know you still have feelings for Seb, but he's moved on. You should too. Find your own happiness. As for Hayden and Spring, Seb's been more than generous. You can see them whenever you want. You're their mom, and that won't change. Plus, Seb's not heartless. If you ever need help, he'll be there. He's already transferred a lot of assets to you, so you're set for life."
Susan sneered at Ellie's fake kindness. "Ellie, I never thought you'd turn out like this!"
She hadn't noticed Ellie's affair with Seb before. Ellie had hidden it too well.
Ellie frowned and said, "Susan, I only got with Seb after you two divorced. I'm not a homewrecker. You and Seb are done, and no one waits around forever."
Ignoring Ellie, Susan turned to Seb and asked, "Seb, tell me, when did you and Ellie start? Was it before or after our two-year agreement? You were calling me every day not long ago. Were you lying to me the whole time?"
Susan's eyes were already wet, but she held back her tears.
"I divorced you a long time ago. Does it even matter now? I love Ellie. We're done," Seb said firmly, reaching out his hand to Ellie.
Ellie got the hint and stepped forward, taking his hand.
Seeing them together, tears streamed down Susan's face.
She shook her head in disbelief and took a couple of steps back.
Ellie had a smug look on her face.
Ellie raised her chin and smiled at Susan. "Susan, please stop messing with our lives. We're really happy together!"
Susan barely managed to stay conscious after hearing that.
After a long pause, she finally looked up and laughed bitterly. "I wish you both all the happiness in the world."
With that, Susan turned and bolted out of the ward.
Watching her leave, Seb felt a pang of loss.
Susan ran out of the hospital building and found a bench in a quiet corner of the garden to sit down.
Facing such a huge change, her tears fell like a broken string of pearls.
She had rushed back from Northstar City, thinking she and Seb could finally be happy together, but now this had happened. The man who had sworn to love her alone for life had fallen another woman.
After crying for a while, Susan still couldn't accept the reality.
At this moment, she saw a pair of men's shoes in front of her.
Susan looked up and saw Leon with a furrowed brow.
Seeing Leon, Susan quickly stood up and asked, "Leon, you told me to be prepared. Was this preparation about Ellie?"
"Yes." Leon nodded.
Hearing this, Susan squinted her eyes and asked, "Leon, tell me the truth. Did they get together recently, or have they been together for a long time?"
Hearing this, Leon frowned and said, "Ms. Wilson, I can responsibly tell you that over the years, I have never seen Mr. Anderson have any affair with Ellie."
"Then what is going on? Could their relationship have developed to this extent in just a few days? Ellie has been Cyber's secretary for many years, yet there has never been any indication of them hooking up. Could it be that they hid it too well?" Susan was almost going crazy, her hands frozen in the air.
"Calm down and listen to me, okay?" Leon looked around and then said to Susan.
Susan knew she had lost her composure, so she turned and sat on the bench. She needed to calm down.
The next moment, Leon lit a cigarette and said while smoking, "About a week ago, one afternoon, Mr. Anderson and I went to the suburbs to inspect a project. On the way back, we had a car accident."
Hearing this, Susan immediately frowned and asked, "A week ago? I remember he called me that day. He said he was looking forward to my return, but then a storm hit Northstar City, and communication was completely cut off. I lost contact with him from that moment."
Leon continued, "The car accident was severe. The car flipped over, and both Mr. Anderson and I lost consciousness. When I woke up in the hospital, it was two days later. Mr. Anderson and I were not sent to the same hospital. I didn't know his condition, and my phone was missing. After my condition stabilized, I came to this hospital to see Mr. Anderson."
"You weren't sent to the same hospital?" Susan frowned.
Leon nodded. "Yes, our injuries were severe, so we were separated. When I saw Mr. Anderson, he had passed the critical stage, but his leg was broken, and he had two broken ribs. He spoke and acted normally, but he never mentioned you. When I brought you up, he was indifferent, as if he didn't remember you at all!"
Hearing this, Susan frowned tightly. "Was Ellie always by his side?"
"When I arrived, Ellie was there, taking meticulous care of Mr. Anderson and acting very close to him, even claiming to be his fiancée," Leon replied.
"Fiancée?" Susan found the word very jarring.
"Yes, fiancée, and Mr. Anderson didn't deny it. He seemed to trust her completely, letting her handle everything," Leon said.
