Chapter 940 Moved

"Isabella's got nothing to do with you, so quit the crap!" Alfonso snapped.

Leon just smirked. "Whatever's going on between Isabella and me is none of your business. Step aside, or don't blame me for getting rough!"

Alfonso didn't budge. "Just 'cause you're some big shot at Prosperity Group doesn't mean everyone's scared of you. Maple Valley's got laws. If you don't let her go, I'm calling the cops!"

Alfonso's eyes were full of threats.

"You think I'm scared of you calling the cops? Just 'cause you're a lawyer doesn't make you special. You can't control other people's love lives, can you?" Leon scoffed, totally unfazed.

Alfonso, feeling cornered, stepped forward but hesitated, worried he might hurt Isabella. He pulled out his phone, dialing while threatening, "Leon, you're a big name in Maple Valley. If the cops show up, it won't be easy for you!"

"Do whatever you want!" Leon shot Alfonso a glance and then started walking towards his car with Isabella in his arms.

Seeing Alfonso really about to call the cops, Isabella turned back and shouted, "Alfonso, don't do anything stupid!"

"I can't just let him take you away!" Alfonso shouted back.

Isabella frowned. "This is between him and me, it has nothing to do with you!"

In desperation, Isabella said this.

She didn't want Alfonso to call the cops and cause trouble for Leon.

Hearing this, Alfonso was stunned.

Leon smirked, then turned to the dejected Alfonso and shouted, "Did you hear that? This is between us, not you!"

With that, Leon carried Isabella away with big strides.

Alfonso stood there, his phone screen glowing with an unfinished call to 911.

Seeing Leon carrying Isabella over, the driver had already opened the back door.

Leon gently placed Isabella into the car and then got in himself.

After the driver closed the door, he moved to the driver's seat, and soon the car merged into traffic.

Inside the car, it was unusually quiet, with only the sound of the car moving.

Isabella kept her head down, not knowing how to face Leon sitting next to her.

Leon glanced at Isabella and said, "Why aren't you talking? Still thinking about that guy?"

"Stop talking nonsense," Isabella immediately retorted.

"Do you have to go against me?" Leon loosened his tie, clearly pissed.

"You're the one going against me!" Isabella shot back.

Leon didn't say anything, but his face was stormy.

At that moment, Isabella's eyes caught sight of a pink cake box on the seat. She couldn't help but pick it up and look inside, finding a very delicate strawberry cake.

"Strawberry cake?" Isabella looked at Leon, puzzled.

Leon glanced at the cake in her hand and said sulkily, "Throw it away. You already had tiramisu, so you probably don't like this anymore."

Isabella immediately got it—this cake was for her. There probably wasn't any strawberry cake at the wedding, so he must've gone out to get it.

She smiled, opened the box, and took a bite with a small spoon. "Not bad!"

"This is a premium cake, you know?" Leon muttered.

"Want to try some?" Isabella cut a small piece and held it up to Leon's mouth.

"I don't eat sweet stuff," Leon frowned.

Isabella wasn't taking no for an answer and fed him the cake anyway, leaving him no choice but to eat it.

Leon chewed, a tiny smile sneaking onto his lips.

Isabella happily ate the cake, then looked up and asked, "Did you leave the banquet just to get me this strawberry cake?"

Leon looked down at her, raising an eyebrow. "I had to take care of something outside. I passed by a premium cake shop next to the hotel and decided to buy one."

Isabella wasn't buying it, giving him a sidelong glance and pouting. 'This guy is so stubborn. Is it that hard to admit he got the cake just for me?'

For a moment, the atmosphere in the car became a bit tense.

Isabella kept her head down, not saying a word, while Leon stared out the window, looking a bit lost. Both seemed uneasy, and Leon even adjusted his tie twice.

Luckily, the car soon stopped in front of Isabella's building.

The driver opened the door, and Leon got out first, then bent down to carry Isabella out.

"I can walk by myself!" Isabella snapped.

Leon frowned.

Isabella tried to get out of the car herself, but Leon scooped her up anyway.

As he carried her into the building, Isabella patted his shoulder and shouted, "Didn't you hear me? I can walk by myself. Put me down."

Leon ignored her protests and carried her up the stairs.

"Leon, did you hear me?" Isabella's voice was hoarse from shouting.

By the time they reached the sixth floor, Leon was panting. He frowned at her and said, "Keep your voice down, I'm not deaf!"

Isabella was fuming, glaring at him.

"Where are the keys?" Leon asked.

"In my wallet," Isabella replied.

When Leon picked her up earlier, he had put her wallet in his pocket.

"Your wallet's in my pocket. You get it," Leon said.

"Why don't you just put me down first?" Isabella retorted.

Leon was firm. "If you want me to hold you forever, don't take out the keys."

"You..." Isabella knew she couldn't win, so she gave in.

She reached into Leon's pocket to get her wallet.

It was a bit tricky, and she tried several times but couldn't get it.

Leon frowned, clearly holding back something.
