Chapter 1016 Let's Hurry up and Have Another One
Right then, Milo was snuggled up in Seb's arms, his eyes twinkling like little crescent moons.
Susan was pushing the stroller with one hand and holding onto Isabella with the other as they made their way to their seats.
Leon and Isabella's eyes met for a split second, but she quickly looked away and chose a seat far from him.
Sensing the awkward vibe, Susan handed the menu to Isabella. "Check this out and see if there's anything you want to order."
"Nah, I'm good with anything," Isabella said, pushing the menu back.
"Alright, Seb ordered a bunch of stuff. Let's dig in, and if you like something, we can always get more," Susan replied with a smile.
Seb noticed the tension between Leon and Isabella. He handed Milo over to Leon. "Here, hold Milo for a bit. My arms are killing me!"
Leon happily took Milo, wiped his drool with a tissue, and gave him some warm water. Milo seemed thrilled, probably because he didn't get to go to such lively places often, especially with Leon holding him.
Isabella saw how much Milo liked Leon. Even though Leon only played with him for a short time each morning over the past two months, Milo was really attached to him, especially when Leon lifted him up, making him laugh.
Watching Leon take such good care of Milo, Isabella's heart softened a bit.
He really did love Milo, and she could feel that fatherly love.
Soon, the waiter started bringing out the dishes. Hayden and Spring were super excited and dove right in.
Isabella wasn't really hungry and just picked at the food in front of her.
Leon was juggling holding Milo and eating, always making sure Milo was okay.
Seb and Susan kept the conversation going by eating, commenting on the food, and cracking jokes to avoid awkwardness.
But Isabella barely looked up or said a word.
And Leon, busy with Milo, didn't talk much either.
So, it was mostly Seb and Susan talking, and they were getting pretty tired halfway through the meal.
Leon fed Milo a couple of spoonfuls of applesauce, but Milo choked and started coughing hard.
Leon quickly patted Milo's back and gave him some water, looking a bit lost since he wasn't used to taking care of kids.
Isabella rushed over, took Milo into her arms, and patted his back and chest.
Leon stood there, eyes glued to Milo in Isabella's arms.
Thankfully, Milo stopped coughing after a bit, and Isabella let out a sigh of relief.
Seeing Milo was okay, everyone else relaxed too.
Isabella, still shaken, whispered angrily to Leon, "How could you feed him like that? He's so small, you can't give him such big spoonfuls of applesauce! Do you know what could've happened if he choked badly?"
"Sorry, I don't have much experience," Leon said, his face blank.
Isabella's tone softened. "If you don't have experience, then don't feed him!"
Leon just stayed quiet.
Susan quickly jumped in to break the tension. "Hey, it's already impressive that Leon's even trying to feed Milo. Don't be too hard on him! Remember Seb? When Hayden and Spring were little, he had no clue how to feed them. You should appreciate what you have."
Seb looked a bit miffed. "Am I really that bad?"
"Absolutely," Susan teased, smiling at him.
They were bickering, but their eyes were full of affection, the kind of playful banter that showed how close they were.
"I don't think so," Seb said, throwing his hands up.
Susan rolled her eyes. "I'll make a list of all your flaws tonight and keep it as a record."
"Should I frame it for you?" Seb grinned.
"Great idea," Susan laughed.
Even though they were joking around, Isabella felt a pang of sadness.
She handed Milo to Susan. "I'm going to the restroom."
"Sure thing!" Susan said, happily taking Milo and soothing him.
For some reason, Susan found Milo extra adorable right then.
Isabella headed to the restroom, and Leon's eyes followed her.
Seb nudged Leon with his elbow. "Aren't you gonna go after her?"
Leon frowned.
"Women need to be reassured, especially if there's another woman involved. You need to make it up to Isabella," Seb whispered.
Leon hesitated for a moment, then suddenly stood up and quickly walked in the direction Isabella had gone.
Seeing Leon go after her, Susan, holding Milo, asked Seb quietly, "What did you say to Leon? It worked like a charm! They've been giving each other the cold shoulder for days."
"That's my secret technique. Can't just give it away," Seb said, acting all mysterious.
Susan rolled her eyes and pouted. "Fine, keep your secrets."
She looked down at Milo and cooed, "Right, Milo? We don't care!"
"Milo is really cute," Seb said, looking at the baby in Susan's arms.
"Yeah, he's so chubby. Reminds me of Hayden and Spring when they were little. Look at those bright eyes! And he's even cuter when he's crawling around," Susan agreed.
Seb stared at Susan for a few seconds, then picked up a piece of steak and put it on her plate. With a sly grin, he said, "You should eat more. Let's try for another baby!"
Susan rolled her eyes again. "Who wants to have a baby with you?"
Seb touched her hand, still grinning. "We've been trying for so long, why aren't you pregnant yet?"
His eyes drifted to Susan's belly as he spoke.
