Chapter 1190 Tormenting Each Other

Time seemed to stand still at that moment. Daryl's gaze seemed to embed Cecilia into his eyes, while Cecilia's gaze was filled with too much confusion and helplessness.

The first to break the awkward silence was Cecilia. She quickly lowered her head and said, "Seraphine said she wanted to ask you some personal questions so that our magazine sales could go up. I'm sorry, I..."

Asking him about his feelings made Cecilia's palms sweat. She was afraid he would say what he said that day again because she couldn't guarantee she would remain indifferent this time.

Daryl suddenly laughed.

Cecilia felt extremely awkward and didn't know what to say, as if her tongue was tied.

He said, "Go ahead. I'll not only answer but also tell the truth."

Cecilia looked at him, feeling conflicted.

His gaze was very sincere at this moment. She didn't know what to say. It was just an interview, and talking about feelings was just a gimmick. Why did he have to take it seriously?

Cecilia lowered her head and asked, "Readers are very curious if you have someone you love after breaking off the engagement with Miss Tate?"

Daryl looked at Cecilia with a smile, "My heart is set on someone, but unfortunately, I like her, and she doesn't like me."

Cecilia's hand holding the pen froze!

She didn't dare to look up because she was very afraid of his determined and passionate gaze.

"What kind of girl do you admire?" She asked the second question on the outline.

These questions were drafted by Seraphine. Cecilia felt annoyed just looking at them, let alone asking them. But it was her job, and she had no choice.

Daryl's voice slowly reached her ears. "Smooth skin, moderate build, long hair, preferably in a ponytail."

Her heart was once again in a mess.

She felt her whole body burning. Without looking up, she knew two passionate eyes were gazing at her.

"She has a stubborn personality, doesn't give up easily, often argues with me, and is sharp-tongued," Daryl continued.

Cecilia couldn't ask the third question on the outline because she knew if she continued, she might completely fall for him.

She suddenly looked up and said, "Mr. Fields, today's interview is completed. Thank you for your cooperation. I need to return to the magazine to organize the interview. When the draft is ready, I will contact your special assistant. If there are any modifications needed, you can let your assistant tell me, and I will revise it until you are satisfied!"

After quickly saying this, she hurriedly packed her things, stood up, politely nodded at Daryl, and quickly left the private room.

Cecilia reached out and opened the door of the private room, just in time to see Douglas waiting anxiously outside.

"Miss Thorne, is the interview finished?" Douglas asked while glancing into the private room.

"Yes, I'm leaving now." Although Cecilia felt Douglas was a bit strange, she had no time to pay attention to it and quickly left the private room.

After Cecilia left, Douglas hurriedly entered the private room with a suit in his arms.

"Mr. Fields, are you okay?" Douglas asked anxiously.

"I'm fine." Daryl smiled and then struggled to get up.

Douglas quickly stepped forward to help Daryl up.

Cecilia walked out of Riverside Tea Lounge with a heavy heart, stepping onto the street, her mind filled with thoughts of Daryl's smile and passionate gaze."

Not far along, she looked down and realized the recorder was missing.

She frowned and thought, 'It must have been left on the table because I left in such a hurry.'

She quickly turned around and walked back.

Just as Cecilia reached the front of Riverside Tea Lounge, she suddenly saw Douglas helping Daryl out of the lounge. She quickly hid behind a tree and frowned. 'Why does Daryl, a grown man, need Douglas's help?'

Driven by strong curiosity, Cecilia peeked out from behind the tree.

She saw Daryl's pale face and tightly furrowed brows, looking as if he had been seriously ill. Cecilia couldn't help but worry. 'What was wrong with him? Did he have an acute illness? But he seemed fine just now.'

Daryl paused on the steps, looking very uncomfortable.

Douglas looked at Daryl anxiously and asked, "Mr. Fields, how are you feeling?"

"My stomach hurts a bit. Take me back to the hospital," Daryl's forehead was covered in sweat.

"Okay." Douglas quickly nodded and then helped Daryl into the car.

The car quickly drove into the lane.

Hearing their conversation, Cecilia felt even more uneasy. 'Back to the hospital? What hospital is he going back to? Could it be that he's been hospitalized?'

She felt a surge of panic!

At that time, a taxi happened to drive by.

She quickly flagged down the taxi and, after getting in, urgently said to the driver, "Please follow that car!"

The driver hesitated for a moment and then followed.

After several turns, Cecilia saw Daryl's car pull into the largest hospital in Maple Valley.

After getting out of the taxi, she followed Daryl and Douglas into the hospital.

With Douglas's help, Daryl entered the emergency room. She frowned, not knowing what was wrong with Daryl.

While Cecilia was wandering in the hallway, she saw a nurse come out of the emergency room. She quickly stepped forward and grabbed the nurse's arm, asking, "Excuse me, what illness does the man who just went in have?"

The nurse was stunned momentarily and looked Cecilia up and down.

Cecilia withdrew her hand, feeling a bit rash, and said apologetically, "I'm sorry. I'm his friend. I saw him go into the emergency room and don't know what's wrong with him."

The nurse then replied, "Mr. Fields had a stomach hemorrhage due to excessive drinking a few days ago and has been hospitalized for several days. Today, he sneaked out, and his condition has worsened. The doctor is examining him now."

"Stomach hemorrhage?" Cecilia was so surprised that she couldn't close her mouth.

"Yes, he doesn't take care of his health at all. Drinking excessively to the point of a stomach hemorrhage. Fortunately, he was treated in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable. He still didn't listen, sneaking out of the hospital today. Well, I should leave." The nurse shook her head and then left.
