Chapter 772 You Heartless Person
At this moment, Seb looked at Susan and laughed. "Why do I feel like you're mocking me?"
Susan couldn't help but smile. "No, I'm not."
"But you look really cute when you're jealous. I love seeing you jealous!" Seb put his arm around Susan's shoulder, becoming even more clingy in his slightly drunken state.
"Stop it!" Susan tried to push him away.
But he was tall and strong; how could she compete?
The next moment, Seb leaned down and planted a heavy kiss on Susan's cheek!
Then, Seb suddenly let her go and gave her a silly grin.
Seeing his childish behavior, Susan could only look at him and smile helplessly.
At this moment, Seb's phone suddenly rang in his pocket!
Sitting in the chair, Seb slowly took out his phone. Seeing the number, he frowned.
Noticing Seb's expression, Susan curiously asked, "Who's calling?"
"Cecilia," Seb replied with a hint of impatience.
Susan glanced at the clock on the wall; it was almost nine o'clock. Her calling at this time was quite suspicious.
Seb placed the phone on the dining table, not intending to answer it.
Looking at the phone on the table, Susan smiled and said, "Why don't you answer it?"
"You seem to really want me to take her call?" Seb scrutinized Susan.
"If you don't answer, I bet she'll call again soon," Susan laughed.
At this moment, after ringing a dozen times, the phone stopped.
"I noticed you seem to know her quite well?" Seb smirked.
Susan pursed her lips. "Only women truly understand a woman's little schemes."
"You don't like her, do you?" Seb asked.
"Why should I like a woman who's always after my man? It's already good enough that I don't hate her," Susan said with a laugh.
"Then why aren't you angry at all?" Seb stared at Susan and asked.
"What’s the point of getting upset? There will always be women trying to catch your eye. If I got angry every time, I’d have worn myself out long ago," Susan said, her voice tinged with resignation.
Sure enough, just as Susan predicted, the phone on the dining table rang again.
Seb remained unmoved, showing no intention of answering, silently watching Susan.
At this moment, Susan reached out and patted his hand, smiling. "Alright, go ahead and answer it. What if it's something urgent?"
Hearing this, Seb turned his wrist, grasped Susan's hand, and said, "I'm only answering because she's Hayden and Spring's tutor. Don't be mad, okay?"
"Why would I be mad?" Susan rolled her eyes and looked at the ceiling.
Seb smirked, then reached for the phone, pressed the answer button, and put it on speaker.
"Miss Thorne, hello. It's quite late. Is there something you need?" Seb asked in a serious tone as soon as the call connected.
Hearing Seb's tone, Susan couldn't help but laugh.
And he had put it on speaker; Susan knew he wanted her to hear everything clearly, trying to clarify things.
Despite everything, she trusted Seb. Cecilia was just another young, pretty girl; Susan was secure in her relationship with Seb, confident he wasn’t swayed by mere looks.
Susan's anger was only due to Cecilia's arrogance and disdain towards her.
But after all, she was ten years older than Cecilia, and she didn't take her little tricks seriously.
Then, Cecilia's weak and helpless voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Mr. Anderson, I know it's inappropriate to call you at this hour, but I'm really scared. I've been studying in Northstar City for two years, but I don't have any close friends here. I'm really sorry!" Cecilia's voice was tinged with tears.
Hearing this, both Seb and Susan frowned.
After exchanging a glance with Susan, Seb asked, "Miss Thorne, did something happen?"
"I had a headache earlier and went to the hospital. The doctor said I have a concussion and need to be hospitalized. I don't know what to do. My parents divorced when I was young, and I haven't been in touch with my dad for a long time. I'm afraid to tell my mom back home because I don't want her to worry. I don't have enough money with me, and the hospital fees here in Aelistania are so expensive," Cecilia cried on the other end.
The phone was on speaker, and Susan heard everything clearly.
She didn't know if Cecilia's situation was real or not, but she preferred to believe it was true.
After all, a young girl studying abroad alone was not easy, especially in a foreign country.
Seb then looked at Susan for guidance.
Susan patted Seb's hand and gave him an encouraging smile.
Seb smiled back, then said to Cecilia, "Send me the address of the hospital you're at. I'll come over right away. Don't be afraid; I'll help you."
"Thank you, Mr. Anderson. I'm really in trouble; I'm not trying to cling to you," Cecilia said with a tone of surprise.
"After all, you got hurt in my car, so I should be responsible for your medical expenses. Alright, see you at the hospital," Seb said before hanging up.
After hanging up, Seb called the driver to come and pick him up.
When the driver arrived, Seb held Susan's hand and said, "Come to the hospital with me?"
Hearing this, Susan thought for a moment and said, "It's so cold outside, and I want to take a hot bath. I'll stay home."
Hearing that Susan wasn't going, Seb raised an eyebrow. "I've never seen a woman as generous as you. She clearly has feelings for me, and you're letting me go alone? Aren't you afraid something might happen?"
Seeing Seb's gaze, Susan jokingly said, "I'm already tired of you. If you want to leave with someone else, go ahead. Just leave Hayden and Spring with me!"
Hearing this, Seb pinched Susan's cheek. "You heartless woman, after all I've done for you, you still don't take me seriously!"
