Chapter 252 Parting on Good Terms

Susan's expression darkened at the news of Amelia chasing after Ethan.

She remembered the last time George mentioned Ethan and Amelia breaking up, Ethan ended up going abroad. Back then, she was pregnant with Spring, and now Spring was almost a year old. Was their breakup still dragging on?

George was surprised too. "Are you still tangled up with her?" he asked.

Ethan gripped the car seat, looking pained. "The biggest mistake I ever made was getting mixed up with her. I've been avoiding her for over a year. Thought it was over, so I came back for New Year's. But Amelia tracked me down and now she's in hot pursuit. I'm at my wit's end!"

George was about to say something when Ethan glanced out the window, then quickly lay down in the back seat. "She's here! Don't let her find me, or I'm done," he urged.

Susan looked out and saw Amelia about thirty feet away, searching for Ethan.

It had been a while since Susan last saw Amelia, and she looked overly stylish again.

Amelia's fashion sense was only average when she was with Ethan. She dressed more elegantly and decently, probably because she wore designer clothes. Expensive clothes can make anyone look distinguished, and boutique clerks help put together outfits.

Amelia searched for a long time but couldn't find Ethan. Frustrated, she stomped her foot.

Susan smirked, feeling a bit of schadenfreude.

However, mixed emotions swirled within her. As a fellow woman, Amelia was quite pitiful. Yet, given Amelia's past actions, she couldn't deny that she had brought it upon herself.

As the light turned green, George hit the gas, and the car drove through the intersection, leaving Amelia behind.

George chuckled, "Amelia's left behind. You can relax now!"

Ethan slowly sat up, cautiously looking out the back window. When he couldn't see Amelia anymore, he sighed in relief.

"Dodged another bullet!" Even in winter, Ethan was drenched in cold sweat.

George couldn't help but say, "Look at you, so spineless. She's just a woman. Why are you so afraid of her?"

Ethan wiped his sweat and shook his head. "You don't know how unreasonable she is. She's completely irrational and shameless. I'm really scared of her. When my mom was around, she could control her. Now, I have no way to deal with her!"

Susan's expression clouded once more. What did Ethan mean by saying that his mom, Freya, was no longer around?George laughed. "Where do you want to get off? We're going to try on wedding dresses."

Ethan thought for a moment and said, "I'll go with you to try on wedding dresses. I'm still shaken up!"

George and Susan laughed and agreed.

The bridal shop George picked was top-notch in Maple Valley, with great decor, merchandise, and service.

The clerk led George and Ethan to a lounge to wait while Susan went to the fitting room.

Susan put on the custom wedding dress George had made for her and walked to the large mirror. Seeing herself in the white dress, she was surprised.

"Ms. Wilson, this dress is perfect for you," the clerk said, adjusting the dress.

"Isn't the neckline a bit too low?" Susan felt like half her chest was exposed.

"It's not low at all. Plenty of bridal gowns have even deeper necklines! It's your special day, after all. Wouldn't you want the groom to be absolutely captivated by you?" the clerk laughed.

Susan pursed her lips, thinking, 'This is more like making the guests unable to take their eyes off me.'

The clerk suggested, "Why don't you go out and let Mr. Anderson take a look?"

"Alright." Susan couldn't decide, so she nodded.

She lifted her skirt, and the clerk helped with the train as they walked out of the fitting room.

As Susan approached the lounge door, the sound of heated voices from within caught her attention. She furrowed her brow and gently pushed the door ajar.

Inside, she saw Amelia grabbing Ethan by the collar, her voice laced with anger as she declared, "You think you can escape me? Even if you run to the ends of the earth, I'll hunt you down!"

Ethan looked dejected and helpless. "Amelia, we're adults. Let's part on good terms. What do you gain by clinging to me like this?"

"Part on good terms? You got tired of me and now you want to leave? Let me tell you, I'm not that easy to get rid of. You have to marry me!" Amelia clung to Ethan's collar.

Ethan was desperate. "Weren't you willing at the time? I didn't force you. If I had to marry everyone I slept with, I'd have too many wives!"

George couldn't help but laugh. Susan found it funny too but held back her laughter.

Hearing George's laughter, Amelia turned angrily. "What's so funny? None of you men are any good!"

George stifled his laughter and walked over. "Miss Garcia, you'd better not make a scene here. If you keep this up, they'll call the police!"

"Call the police? Fine, go ahead. Let them come and judge. Isn't the Robinson family a big name? I'm not, and I don't care about losing face!" Amelia was now completely shameless.
