Chapter 1331 Father and Son Meet
Cecilia kept silent, staring defiantly at the menacing Daryl.
Sensing her unyielding attitude, Daryl tightened his grip even more.
Cecilia could hear the sound of her bones about to break, but she bit her lower lip and didn't make a sound. Sweat was already dripping from her forehead.
Her stubbornness only fueled Daryl's anger. He gritted his teeth and said, "You think staying silent will stop me? I'll find that kid you had!"
With that, Daryl released Cecilia and shoved her hard, causing her to fall back onto the bed.
The next moment, he stormed out in frustration.
Hearing the door slam shut, Cecilia furrowed her brows.
Right now, her biggest concern was Thaddeus. She didn't even feel the pain from the wound on her forehead where she had hit the corner of the table.
No, she had to get Freya to take Thaddeus away immediately.
Cecilia searched around and finally found her phone, but it was dead, and there was no charger in the room.
With no other option, Cecilia put on her shoes and went out to borrow a phone.
However, as soon as she opened the door, two men in black suits blocked her way.
"Sorry, you can't leave," one of the men said to Cecilia.
"Who are you? How dare you obstruct my way out?" Cecilia was furious at these strangers.
The other man replied, "We're Mr. Daryl Fields' private bodyguards. Mr. Fields has ordered that you are not to leave this room without his permission."
Hearing this, Cecilia became even more anxious.
Of course, Daryl would make sure she was closely guarded to prevent her from warning anyone.
"You have no right to restrict my freedom!" Cecilia ignored the bodyguards and tried to force her way out.
But one of the bodyguards pushed her back and locked the door from the outside.
Stumbling back, Cecilia was furious. She pounded on the door and shouted, "Let me out! Do you hear me? This is illegal!"
But soon, the bodyguard's voice came from outside. "Please calm down. Mr. Fields has rented out this entire floor. No one will hear you, and no one will come."
Hearing this, Cecilia furrowed her brows. With no other options, she kicked the door in frustration.
But wearing slippers, she only managed to hurt her own foot.
Cecilia paced around the room, looking out the window. The floor was indeed very high, about ten stories up, so escaping through the window was not an option. Daryl had thought of everything to keep her trapped here.
All night, Cecilia sat on the bed, unable to come up with a solution.
The next morning, the door opened from the outside.
Cecilia looked up to see the nurse who had been taking care of her walk in.
Seeing the nurse, Cecilia pinned all her hopes on her. She rushed forward and grabbed the nurse's wrist, pleading, "Please, can I borrow your phone?"
The nurse frowned and said, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Fields. I had to leave my phone outside. Mr. Fields wouldn't allow any communication devices in here."
Hearing this, Cecilia sat back on the bed in disappointment.
Of course, Daryl was too meticulous to leave such a loophole.
Cecilia then pleaded, "Can you at least make a call for me?"
She just needed to get a message to Freya to take the child and hide.
But the nurse shook her head and said, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Fields. I can't help you. If Mr. Fields finds out, I'll be in big trouble."
With that, the nurse placed the tray she was carrying on the table. "Mrs. Fields, please have your dinner."
Cecilia knew the nurse worked for Daryl and wouldn't help her.
She had no appetite. She was extremely anxious but had no way out.
The nurse then noticed the wound on Cecilia's forehead and said, "Mrs. Fields, your forehead is injured. I'll get some medicine and bandages for you."
With that, the nurse quickly left.
Cecilia sat dazed on the bed, not caring about the pain on her forehead.
The next morning, Freya stood in the CEO's office at Fields Group, holding Thaddeus.
Daryl sat in his leather chair, his eyes fixed on the chubby baby in Freya's arms.
Freya held Thaddeus tightly, terrified of Daryl's menacing gaze.
Last night, Douglas had suddenly barged into Cecilia's apartment. When he found Thaddeus, he was shocked.
Douglas then took Freya and Thaddeus away, fearing any incidents on a plane. They traveled by car all night and finally arrived at Daryl's office this morning.
Daryl scrutinized Thaddeus in Freya's arms. The baby's face and eyes looked so much like his own. But Elijah also resembled him. Daryl couldn't tell if the child looked more like Elijah or himself.
Frustrated, Daryl stood up and walked around his desk, approaching Freya.
Freya was still very afraid of Daryl. She hadn't seen Cecilia and knew some of the history between Cecilia and Daryl, so she was very worried.
"Mr. Fields, you won't hurt Thaddeus, will you? He's just a baby, only eight months old. Please don't harm him!" Freya pleaded, stepping back.
Compared to Freya's panic, Thaddeus seemed unafraid. The baby cooed and reached out to Daryl, his big eyes fixed on him, as if he knew him.
"Don't worry. No matter whose child he is, I won't harm a baby," Daryl said, glancing at Thaddeus before turning away, his voice cold.
Daryl's face was darker than a storm cloud, his eyes deep and unreadable. No one knew what he was thinking.
