Chapter 969 Meticulous Care

Leon helped Isabella get comfy in the roomy first-class seat.

Isabella glanced at Leon and said, "Let Kathy sit next to me."

She really didn't want to be stuck next to Leon for the whole flight.

Leon just smiled. "Kathy's seat is over here."

Isabella saw him pointing to the seat in front of her and asked, "Then why don't you switch seats with Kathy?"

"My seat's behind you!" Leon pointed to the seat right behind hers.

Isabella's cheeks flushed slightly as she realized her mistake—the seat next to her belonged to another passenger, not Leon.

She quickly picked up a magazine, ignoring Leon.

Leon, getting the hint, sat in the seat behind her.

Soon, everyone was seated, and the plane was about to take off.

But the seat next to Isabella stayed empty, which confused her. 'Did Leon book this seat? Why'd he move to the back then?'

Just then, a young, pretty flight attendant came over, bent down, and smiled at Isabella. "Ma'am, if you're tired, you can put your feet up on the seat next to you to avoid leg swelling."

Isabella frowned. "Isn't there a passenger for this seat?"

The flight attendant smiled and glanced at Leon behind her. "Your husband booked two seats for you so you wouldn't get too tired. You can combine the seats and lie down if you need to rest."

She then showed Isabella how to combine the seats.

Realizing Leon had bought the adjacent seat too, Isabella frowned.

First-class was already pricey, and he bought two seats? Isabella thought it was too much.

"Your husband really loves you; it's enviable," the flight attendant said with a smile before leaving.

Isabella turned and glared at Leon. "Why'd you buy two seats?"

Leon looked down and said, "That seat's for our baby. If you gets tired, you can lie down and sleep."

Isabella was speechless. She glared at Leon and turned away, sulking.

Two hours later, feeling sore and tired, Isabella couldn't help but combine the two seats as the flight attendant had shown and laid down.

Lying down was way more comfortable. At that moment, Isabella appreciated Leon's thoughtfulness. Maybe she had overestimated her stamina, thinking a long flight would be easy, but now she realized her body wasn't as strong as she thought.

Lying on the spacious, couch-like seat, Isabella felt a bit regretful for being too harsh on Leon earlier, but she wasn't about to apologize now.

She closed her eyes.

After a long journey of several hours, the plane finally landed.

Susan came to pick them up, and the two were naturally excited to see each other.

"Wow, your belly's huge, and you've put on some weight. Looks like Kathy's been taking good care of you!" Susan said, holding Isabella's hand and giving her a once-over.

"Yeah, thanks to Kathy. She makes soup for me every day," Isabella replied, smiling at Kathy.

Just then, Susan noticed Leon directing a few people to move about a dozen suitcases. "You brought all this luggage?"

Isabella didn't answer, but Kathy stepped up. "Most of it is stuff Mr. Johnson bought for Ms. Brown and her baby."

Susan laughed. "I don't think you have enough space at home for all this. Seb has a three-bedroom apartment near your place with a nice environment. Why don't you move there? I've already had it cleaned and furnished."

Before Isabella could respond, Leon walked over. "I've already prepared a duplex with a garden on the first floor, which is perfect for a pregnant woman."

Susan smiled. "Looks like I was being redundant. Everything's already taken care of."

But Isabella said to Susan, "I'd rather go back to my own place. It's small, but it's enough for me and my baby."

"How can you manage without someone to take care of you?" Susan asked.

Leon frowned but knew arguing was pointless.

Isabella smiled. "Susan, you've lent me Kathy for so long; I should return her to you. Besides, I'm very familiar with Maple Valley. I can take care of myself. When my due date is near, I'll go to the hospital, and you can help me then."

"But..." Susan still looked worried.

Isabella smiled lightly. "It's settled."

She then turned to Leon. "Take the stuff you bought to your own place!"

Leon sighed. "Alright, I'll store it at my place for now."

Seeing that Leon couldn't do anything about Isabella, Susan smiled secretly and helped Isabella out of the airport.

Susan and Leon took Isabella back to her small apartment.

Isabella looked around. "I've been gone for half a year, but it's still so clean here. It's even cleaner than when I left."

Susan smiled, glancing at Leon. "As far as I know, someone hired a cleaner to come here every week. The bed sheets and curtains are washed regularly."

Isabella was surprised and stared at Susan, thinking she did it.

Then, her gaze unintentionally swept over Leon, who lowered his head to avoid her eyes.

Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Susan checked her watch. "I have an appointment with Seb. Isabella, I'll leave now and visit you next time!"

She quickly left before Isabella could call her back.

For a moment, the small apartment was just Isabella and Leon.
