Chapter 854 I Am Willing

"Sorry!" Seb plopped down on the edge of the bed, rubbing his face with both hands.

Susan slowly sat up, clutching the dress that had slipped down her chest. She gently leaned her head on Seb's shoulder and murmured, "You don't need to apologize. It was my choice."

Seb turned to look at her.

In the dim light, Susan gazed at Seb and said, "I'm willing."

Her face looked delicate under the under the shadows. Seb furrowed his brows and said, "I can't betray Ellie."

Susan lifted her head from his shoulder, her eyes filled with sorrow.

He was apologizing for his impulsiveness, but he still couldn't let go of Ellie.

Susan's heart ached, thinking he had fallen for Ellie during these days.

She couldn't accept it. He had said he would only love her in this lifetime. He had just forgotten, that was all.

No matter what, Susan couldn't accept the idea that Seb might love someone else.

Seb slowly stood up and started buttoning his shirt.

Susan's eyes were fixed on him, filled with disappointment.

Just as Seb finished buttoning his shirt, his phone rang.

Seb took out his phone and frowned at the flashing number on the screen.

"It's Ellie. I don't want her to know I'm with you," Seb said, looking at Susan.

He was considerate of Ellie, but he didn't realize how much it hurt Susan.

She understood; he didn't want her to make a sound. Even though she now hated Ellie, she had no choice but keep quiet.

Seb frowned at Susan, his phone still ringing.

Susan bitterly smiled and said, "Don't worry, I won't make a sound."

Seeing the disappointment and sadness in her eyes, Seb's frown deepened.

But he still answered the call. "Ellie?"

"Seb, I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm really in pain." Ellie's voice was weak and filled with suffering.

Seb immediately asked, "Ellie, what's wrong?"

"I think I ate something cold tonight, and now my stomach hurts a lot. There's no stomach medicine at home, and the maid is off today. I can't stand it anymore. Can you get some for me?" Ellie said cautiously.

Seb immediately started walking out while scolding, "You should have called me earlier. Put on some clothes and wait for me. I'll be there soon and take you to the doctor."

Seb opened the door and walked out.

After the door closed, Susan was left alone in the dark room.

More than her fear of the dark, Susan was more terrified of his departure.

As soon as he heard Ellie was in pain, he left without hesitation, not even considering whether it was safe for her to be alone.

Susan's eyes reddened, and she couldn't help but shed tears.

Back in the day, he only worried about her, but now, he was all about another woman, totally ignoring her.

While Susan was drowning in her sadness, there was a sudden knock on the door.

She jumped, startled.

She quickly realized that she was in a nightclub, which was filled with various people. It was pretty risky for her to be alone here.

Susan quickly straightened out her dress, which Seb had messed up, and then turned on the light.

The bright crystal light lit up the whole room, making her eyes squint a bit.

"Ms. Wilson? It's Leon," came a soft voice from outside when no one answered for a while.

Hearing it was Leon, Susan let out a sigh of relief.

She went to open the door.

Seeing Leon standing there, Susan frowned and asked, "How did you know I was here?"

Leon knew she had entered the nightclub but didn't know she was in this room on the second floor.

"Mr. Anderson asked me to take you home," Leon replied.

Susan was stunned.

"I can tell Mr. Anderson still cares about you. Did you make any progress today?" Leon asked.

Susan shook her head.

Seeing her disappointed look, Leon advised, "Let's take it slow. I'll take you home."

Susan walked out of the room with a troubled expression. "He's about to marry Ellie. I probably don't have a chance anymore."

"I'll keep an eye on things," Leon said, frowning at her.

Susan turned to Leon and bitterly smiled, "I know he still has some feelings for me, but he cares more about Ellie. As soon as Ellie called, he left in a hurry. Unless he regains his memory of me, I'll just have to watch him marry someone else."

Leon didn't know what to say and just escorted Susan out of the nightclub.

For the next two days, Susan lost her appetite and had no solution.

As time passed, magazines and tabloids kept hyping up the news of Seb and Ellie's upcoming wedding.

Susan didn't even go to the office; she was too upset to work.

She also stopped waiting outside the Prosperity Group because she knew it was pointless.

That day, Ellie suddenly called Seb, possibly feigning a stomachache because she suspected or knew that Susan was with him.

Ellie was about to marry Seb, so she couldn't afford to be careless at this critical moment.

Lying in bed, lost in thought, Susan was suddenly interrupted by the urgent ringing of her phone.

Seeing it was an unfamiliar number, Susan initially didn't want to answer, but the number kept calling.

Finally, Susan answered. "Hello?"

"Susan, it's Ellie," the voice on the other end said directly.

Susan's hand holding the phone froze.

Although she didn't know Ellie's intentions, it was definitely not good, so Susan became a bit wary.

"I know you're surprised to get my call, but I'm sincerely looking to resolve some issues." Ellie's voice sounded very friendly.
