Chapter 726 I Have My Pride Too
Susan wiped away her tears and clearly saw the man in the gray coat ahead, a fierce glint appearing in her eyes.
At this moment, Andrew suddenly sneered, "Susan, I really don't understand. You'd rather humble yourself and endure everything with Seb, but why can't you consider me? So what if he was rich and powerful once? My assets rival his now. Why are you so stubborn?"
Hearing this, Susan lost her temper and swung her handbag at Andrew!
"You did this on purpose, didn't you? You orchestrated this whole thing to make Seb misunderstand!" Susan shouted as she hit Andrew with her handbag.
Andrew blocked her blows with his hands, still arguing, "He chose to misunderstand. What was I supposed to do? If your relationship was truly solid, nothing could shake it, right?"
Susan, enraged, stopped hitting him and said furiously, "Andrew, consider us strangers from now on. I never want to see your face again."
With that, Susan turned to leave.
Just then, Andrew glanced into the distance and stepped forward to block Susan's path.
"What do you want?" Susan asked warily as he blocked her way.
The next moment, Andrew suddenly grabbed Susan's shoulders and said urgently, "Susan, I truly love you. Please consider me."
"Let go of me!" Susan struggled desperately upon hearing his words.
But as a woman, she had no strength to resist.
Andrew continued, "Susan, I truly love you. Please, just think about it. We had three precious years together. You were so innocent then, my first love, and I was yours. I regret letting you go. But it's not too late. We can start over. I can give you everything you ever wanted. I have the means now, and Seb... he's finished. You'll only suffer with him."
Hearing such absurd words, Susan angrily retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about? I and you..."
At this moment, Susan glanced around and suddenly saw Seb, who had returned without her noticing. He was standing less than 30 feet away, staring at her and Andrew with a murderous look on his face.
"Let go of me!" Susan pushed Andrew away with all her might.
Susan looked at the about-to-explode Seb, trembling inside, wanting to explain but not knowing how.
As she hesitated, Andrew put his hands in his coat pockets and sneered, "Susan, why are you afraid of him? He's no longer your husband. He has no right to interfere with who you choose to be with now. Besides, he's in such a mess that he probably can't even manage his own affairs!"
Susan frowned, unsure how to respond to Andrew.
Seb took a big step forward and punched Andrew in the face!
Susan covered her mouth with her hands, as Seb's expression was terrifying.
Andrew staggered back, touching the corner of his mouth and seeing blood. Without hesitation, he stepped forward and swung his fist at Seb.
In no time, the two of them were exchanging punches, both getting slightly injured.
Seeing this, Susan hurriedly shouted, "Stop fighting!"
But they ignored her and continued to punch each other.
The next moment, Leon arrived with a few bodyguards, and Andrew's men, including Gilbert, also gathered around.
Passersby and people entering and leaving the Prosperity Group building stopped to watch the commotion.
Seeing the growing crowd, Andrew, having likely achieved his goal, sneered, "Let's go. He's not even worthy of being my opponent anymore. Let's not kick him while he's down."
With that, Andrew turned and left, followed by his entourage.
"Who wins or loses is still uncertain!" Seb coldly shouted at Andrew's retreating figure.
"Let's wait and see," Andrew replied without turning back, making a gesture over his head.
After Andrew and his men left, Leon approached and asked, "Mr. Anderson, are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Seb replied, touching his bleeding mouth.
Seeing the bruises and blood on Seb's face, Susan quickly took out a tissue and handed it to him. "Wipe it quickly!"
Seb glanced at the tissue in Susan's hand, then took the tissue Leon handed him instead.
Feeling unappreciated, Susan awkwardly withdrew her hand but still worriedly suggested, "Maybe you should go to the hospital for some treatment?"
"None of your business!" Seb coldly replied and walked away.
Watching his retreating figure, Susan felt deeply hurt by the disdain in his eyes but was helpless. She clenched the tissue tightly in her hand.
Susan knew that no matter how she explained, Seb would not believe her. She was utterly dejected.
So, for the next few days, Susan didn't seek out Seb.
She had her pride, even though she knew it was worthless. Over the years, she had been stepped on, disregarded, and humiliated enough. This time, she wouldn't chase after him, begging for him to see the truth.
However, Susan still worried about Seb, about his conflict with Andrew, about him losing everything, and about him not being able to handle the blow. But all she could do was worry.
For two days, Susan kept an eye on the Prosperity Group's stock fluctuations.
But it was futile because, as Andrew had said, the Prosperity Group's stock had hit the limit down for two days and was then suspended, supposedly to resume trading next Monday.
That weekend was tough for Susan. The kids weren't around, but fortunately, Isabella was also lonely because Leon was too busy to spend time with her. Seeing Susan in a bad mood, Isabella stayed with her.
"Why is Seb so jealous? Why doesn't he think that you and Andrew could never be together?" Isabella complained, seeing Susan so down.
