Chapter 992 Flirting and Bickering

Isabella scrunched up her face and looked at Leon. Her voice was still weak from just giving birth. "Keep it down, you'll scare Milo."

Leon immediately glanced at Milo in the nanny's arms, his face full of regret for not realizing his excitement might scare the baby.

Isabella grabbed Leon's hand and said, "Look, he's still Milo's grandpa. It's natural for him to care about his grandson. You shouldn't shut him out."

Leon frowned and stayed quiet for a long time.

Seeing his hesitation, Isabella glanced at Milo and said, "Milo's so tiny. If you start a fight here, it'll freak him out. Plus, hasn't he been visiting Nora a lot lately? She doesn't push him away anymore, and she doesn't have much time left. Don't you want her to have some peace and care in her final days? Even if he wronged Nora and you in the past, holding onto that anger won't make anyone happy."

Leon thought for a moment, then looked up and told the two men in black suits, "Leave the stuff and go."

"Yes," the two men in black suits said, clearly relieved that Leon had agreed to accept the items. They quickly nodded and left.

Soon, the men and a few others moving things outside disappeared down the hospital corridor, leaving behind a pile of boxes of all sizes.

Leon had to call someone to come and move the stuff.

Later, Leon carried Isabella, who had her head covered, the nanny carried Milo, and Kathy and an assistant carried a bunch of things as they left the hospital.

Even though Leon had all the items Zane sent moved back home, he made sure everything was put in the storage room and told everyone not to touch them, especially not to let Isabella use them for Milo.

During Isabella's recovery after giving birth to Milo, Leon canceled all his social engagements, left early, came home late every day, and even made various soups to help Isabella recover.

After a month, Isabella had gained weight and had plenty of maternal milk, smiling all the time.

On the day Milo turned one month old, Isabella put on her favorite dress, but the zipper wouldn't go up, and her chest felt so tight she could hardly breathe.

Isabella asked Kathy to buy a scale, and when she stepped on it, she screamed in shock.

Leon, who had just come home from work, heard Isabella's scream from the bedroom and rushed in, looking worried.

"What happened?" Leon grabbed Isabella's shoulders, his face full of concern.

"Nothing," Isabella said, startled by Leon's intense gaze.

"Then why did you scream?" Leon tried to keep his voice down to avoid waking Milo but couldn't hide the tension and anger in his eyes.

"I've gotten fat," Isabella said, pointing at the scale.

Leon followed her finger and saw the number: 136 pounds.

He finally relaxed, letting go of her shoulders. "So what if you're a bit heavier? As long as Milo's got milk, it's all good."

Isabella rubbed her sore shoulders and pouted. "Oh, so now it's all about Milo, huh? What about me?"

"I care about both of you, okay? Did I hurt you?" Leon reached out to rub her shoulders.

Isabella pushed his hand away, frowning. "What am I gonna do? I can't fit into my old dresses!"

Leon looked at the dress with the unzipped back, exposing her skin, and smiled. "No biggie, we'll just get you new ones!"

"Stop it. Look at me, I'm so fat and ugly!" Isabella stood in front of the mirror, distressed by the extra weight.

Leon checked on the sleeping Milo, touched his little face, then walked over to the mirror and hugged Isabella from behind.

"Yeah, your waist has gotten a bit thicker," he whispered in her ear.

"Do you want a beating?" Isabella snapped, already upset and now feeling teased.

"I love you no matter what," Leon said, kissing her neck.

"Well, I don't like myself right now," Isabella said, touching her belly.

Seeing how much she cared, Leon whispered, "You just had Milo a month ago. Your body’s still adjusting. Give it some time, and you'll lose the weight."

"Really?" Isabella's eyes lit up.

"When have I ever lied to you?" Leon said confidently.

"I hope so," Isabella said, wishing the weight would come off quickly.

Leon, standing behind her, secretly took something shiny from his pocket and quickly put it on her left wrist.

Feeling the cool sensation, Isabella looked down and saw a bracelet inlaid with colorful gemstones, looking both beautiful and luxurious.

"What’s this for?" Isabella asked, examining the bracelet.

"Today’s Milo’s one-month birthday. This is a gift for you. You've worked so hard feeding him this past month," Leon smiled.

Isabella smiled back.

When she first fed Milo, she was nervous and excited, feeling like she was doing something sacred. She was willing to give everything to raise this little life.

The next moment, Leon suddenly leaned in and kissed her.

The kiss was intense and wild, leaving Isabella breathless.

Though he had kissed her often over the past month, this one was different—passionate and wild. Overwhelmed, Isabella went limp in his arms.
