Chapter 1288 Young Couple

"Alright," Cecilia quickly nodded.

Then, Cecilia and Daryl headed out the door.

Daryl decided to drive himself instead of having the chauffeur take them.

As the car smoothly merged onto the road, Cecilia asked, "Are we going to the mall nearby? What kind of clothes are you looking for? Most of your clothes are custom-made, and if you need something right away, we might have to buy a few off the rack."

Daryl couldn't help but smile and took Cecilia's hand. "You really don't pay much attention. Don't you know if I have clothes to wear or not?"

Meeting Daryl's mischievous gaze, Cecilia suddenly realized.

Daryl's closet was packed with clothes, many of which he hadn't even worn yet. He didn't need to buy clothes at all.

"So, you're not really taking me out to buy clothes, right?" Cecilia asked, puzzled.

Daryl replied, "You're a bit slow on the uptake. No, I'm not taking you out to buy clothes. We can pick up something if we want, but I just wanted to spend some time alone with you. I even gave the driver the day off."

Hearing this, Cecilia's mood brightened.

Although they had only been married for a little over six months, Daryl was always busy with work and rarely took her out. Now he was taking a week off just to be with her.

"So, what are we going to do?" Cecilia asked with a smile.

"We'll start with a trip to the mall, then catch a movie, and maybe have dinner out." Daryl suggested with a grin.

"Sounds great," Cecilia agreed immediately.

They spent the day at the mall, wandering around like any other couple, picking out various items together. Following Daryl's plan, they then went to see a movie and had lunch at a nice restaurant.

After lunch, Daryl didn't take Cecilia home but instead booked a luxurious suite at a nearby hotel.

In the afternoon, they lay lazily on the bed, their heads and feet touching, chatting casually.

"Did you have fun today?" Daryl asked, holding Cecilia's hand.

"Yeah," Cecilia nodded gently.

Daryl kissed her cheek. "I'll be with you all week. We can do whatever you want."

Cecilia was deeply touched and smiled. "You don't have to spend so much time with me. Don't worry, I've come to terms with everything. I won't do anything foolish."

"Silly girl, isn't it a husband's duty to spend time with his wife?" Daryl laughed and kissed her lips again.

Cecilia looked down. "I know you're doing this for me."

"Then don't waste my efforts," Daryl said.

Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, Cecilia nodded firmly.

Daryl smiled. "By the way, why didn't we just go home? Why spend money on a hotel room?" Cecilia asked, though she already knew the answer. Daryl wanted her to feel more comfortable here.

Daryl's eyes darkened, and he rolled over, pressing Cecilia gently beneath him. "What do you think?" His voice was husky.

Seeing the intense look in his eyes, Cecilia blushed. "How would I know?"

Daryl kissed her lips, the kiss deep and passionate. Then he whispered in her ear, "We should change our environment; it would spark more passion."

Cecilia playfully pushed at his shoulders. "You're so annoying, not serious at all!"

"I'm being very serious, okay? What we're doing is perfectly serious," he said, sealing her lips with another kiss.

Cecilia's protests were swallowed up, and she soon melted into his embrace.

For the next week, Daryl either stayed home with Cecilia, reading, watching TV, and chatting, or took her out for walks, picnics, shopping, beach trips, and movies.

They were inseparable, more in sync than ever, and it felt even sweeter than their honeymoon. Cecilia felt incredibly happy.

However, Azalea seemed perpetually unhappy, always wearing a sour expression. Cecilia tried to ignore it, grateful that Daryl was with her every day. Azalea wouldn't act out too much in front of her son.

But Cecilia was anxious. Daryl could only take a week off; he couldn't stay away from work forever.

What would she do when Daryl went back to work? How would she face Azalea alone?

Cecilia felt lost but knew she had to take things one step at a time.

One afternoon, Azalea met Skylar for coffee.

As soon as they sat down, Skylar looked at Azalea and asked with concern, "Godmother, you don't look well. Are you feeling alright?"

Azalea frowned and began to vent. "What else could it be? That awful woman is driving me crazy!"

Skylar forced a smile. "Godmother, are you having trouble with Cecilia again?"

Azalea hesitated, then angrily said, "She married Daryl, and I tried to turn a blind eye because he likes her. But she can't have children! How can we not have children in a family like ours? What will happen to Fields Corporation without an heir?"

Skylar feigned surprise. "She can't have children? Why not?"

Azalea glanced at Skylar and said, "You're my goddaughter, so I don't mind telling you. That awful woman was pregnant before but had a miscarriage. Her uterus was damaged, so it's hard for her to get pregnant now."

Skylar pretended to be shocked. "Cecilia was pregnant before? Godmother, do you know whose child it was?"

"Daryl says it was his," Azalea replied.

Skylar stirred her coffee, smiling. "Daryl must really love Cecilia to put up with all this. I can't say I would."

Azalea asked, "Skylar, do you know something?"

Skylar quickly looked up. "Godmother, I don't know anything. I just think if Cecilia was pregnant with Daryl's child, he would have mentioned it when you opposed their marriage. Why bring it up now? It seems like Daryl is covering for someone else."

Azalea suddenly realized.
