Chapter 898 Happiness
When Leon heard the news, he lit up and said, "Thanks a bunch, Mr. Anderson."
"But remember, the work comes first. A month off is cool, but six months? That'll mess with your year-end bonus. You get what I'm saying, right?" Seb said, all serious.
"Got it," Leon replied with a grin.
"When's your flight?" Seb suddenly asked.
"Two in the afternoon," Leon answered.
Seb's face scrunched up. "Two in the afternoon? You're not asking for leave; you're just telling me, aren't you?"
Leon gave a sheepish smile and looked down. "I knew you'd agree."
"Alright, go pack your stuff," Seb said, waving him off.
"Okay, I won't keep you. You two carry on!" Leon said cheerfully as he left the CEO's office.
"Carry on with what?" Seb muttered, finally catching on after Leon had left, glancing at Susan.
Susan's face turned red at Leon's words.
Leon was sharp and perceptive. He knew exactly what she and Seb were up to in the office but acted like it was no big deal.
It seemed everyone around Seb had a knack for pretending.
Seb walked up to Susan and whispered in her ear, "Did you hear what Leon said? He told us to carry on."
Susan looked up to see Seb grinning at her.
Susan frowned and pushed him away. "Stop it, he was teasing you!"
"Was he?" Seb turned to look at the door and asked.
"Of course he was, you goof!" Susan teased.
Seb tilted his head, thinking for a moment, then said, "How Leon dare tease me? Maybe I should call him back and cancel his leave!"
Susan looked upset. "I was just kidding. Leon wouldn't dare tease you."
Susan laughed awkwardly.
She knew Seb was just messing with her, but she had to play along. She couldn't let Leon down. Isabella had been waiting for this day for too long.
"Alright, I'll listen to you. But you have to listen to me too, right?" Seb said, stepping closer and holding Susan's shoulders.
Susan glanced at the clock on the wall; it was almost 10:20, and Seb's appointment was about to arrive.
"Okay, I'll listen to you," Susan quickly nodded, hoping he'd drop it.
Just then, there was another knock on the office door.
"Your guest is here. I'll get the door," Susan said, jumping up to open it.
But Seb grabbed her wrist, and Susan frowned, confused.
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Tonight in bed, you have to listen to me."
Susan's face turned red at his words.
Another knock came at the door.
Susan quickly nodded and said, "I'll get the door."
She ran to the door, her face flushed with embarrassment.
After opening the door and inviting the guest in, Susan headed to the break room to make coffee and take a moment to cool down her flushed face.
A few minutes later, when Susan walked into the CEO's office with two cups of coffee, Seb's eyes were still on her, and he was half-heartedly talking to the guest.
To dodge the awkwardness, Susan quickly left the CEO's office.
Sitting at her desk, she couldn't help but think, 'Guess I need to satisfy his desires before work from now on. Otherwise, he won't be able to focus, and that could stir up rumors. Not good.'
She sighed. Marrying a guy with endless energy had its challenges. She remembered their first sex in a hotel, teasing him for being all talk. Years later, his stamina was still off the charts. The thought made her smile.
After a chuckle, Susan thought, 'Should I call Isabella to let her know Leon's coming?'
She hesitated but decided against it. Better to let Leon and Isabella handle it themselves.
With Isabella pregnant and the situation unclear, Susan didn't want to say anything that might give false hope. Leon would be with Isabella by tomorrow anyway.
She silently prayed, 'Please, let Isabella find happiness.'
By two in the afternoon, Leon was already on a plane to Northstar City.
Settling into his comfy first-class seat, Leon pulled out his phone and opened his photo album.
The screen was filled with pictures of Isabella—some smiling brightly, some mischievous, some serene. To him, every expression was uniquely charming.
After everything they'd been through, Leon decided to face reality and embrace the uncertain future with Isabella.
It wasn't easy to find and love someone. If he didn't open his heart, life would be too bitter.
So, he decided to put his career on hold and be with Isabella in Northstar City, ready for their baby.
Over the past two years, he knew he owed Isabella a lot. Despite his deep love for her, he hadn't been sure he could give her a happy, peaceful future.
But now, he was determined. No matter how tough the road ahead, he'd face it with her, growing old together and sharing a long life.
Looking at the photos, Leon gently touched Isabella's face on the screen with his thumb. His eyes filled with affection, and a smile spread across his lips as he remembered their journey from meeting to falling in love.
Eight years ago, when Prosperity Group's headquarters moved to Maple Valley, Leon naturally followed Seb there.
That morning, Leon was hurrying into Prosperity Group, holding a stack of documents.
Out of nowhere, someone bumped into him.
His hand shook, and the documents scattered, fluttering down onto the shiny floor.
These papers were urgent for Seb, and seeing them all over the floor made Leon angry.
"Watch where you're going!" Leon snapped, looking up to see a girl with delicate features.
