Chapter 678 Give Him a Slap
Actually, while comforting Spring, Susan felt very conflicted inside.
Seb stood behind Susan, frowned slightly, then stepped forward to gently touch Spring's little hand, instantly transforming into a kind father. "Spring, be good. I'll go buy you a doll as big as you, okay?"
"That big?" As soon as Spring heard about a doll as big as her, she immediately stopped crying and looked at Seb with wide, curious eyes.
Seeing Spring's immediate interest, Seb quickly gestured with his hands. "Yes, a doll as tall as you!"
"Okay, okay." Spring's tear-streaked face lit up with joy, and her chubby little hands clapped in delight.
Susan saw that Seb had managed to cheer up Spring with just a few words and couldn't help but smile.
Soon, another nurse came into the ward with a tray of medical supplies.
Although Susan was still very nervous, this time the nurse managed to insert the needle into the vein on the first try, and the IV drip started quickly.
Watching the liquid drip into Spring's vein, Susan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After Mary saw the nurse out, Spring called out to Susan, "Mommy, I want an apple."
"Okay, I'll peel one for you right away," Susan said with a smile.
Susan felt a bit warm in the ward. Although it was only late autumn, the children's ward had already thoughtfully turned on the air conditioning.
Susan took off her coat, revealing a cream-colored knitted dress underneath.
At this moment, Seb, standing at the foot of the bed, glanced at Susan and immediately frowned.
Susan picked up an apple and sat down by the bed to peel it with a fruit knife.
"Mommy, don't cut your hand!" Spring's big eyes were fixed on Susan, earnestly reminding her.
Hearing this, Susan looked up at Spring, her heart fluttering. Spring had grown up and knew how to care for her now, filling her with joy and comfort.
"Don't worry, I'm very good at peeling apples. I won't cut my hand," Susan said with a smile to Spring.
Upon hearing this, Seb smirked.
Seeing Seb's sarcastic expression, Susan glared at him but ignored him, continuing to peel the apple.
Soon, Susan finished peeling the apple and was about to give it to Spring.
But Seb suddenly snatched the peeled apple and the fruit knife from Susan's hands!
Susan looked at Seb in surprise and asked, "What are you doing?"
Seb ignored Susan and handed the apple and knife to Mary, instructing, "Mary, you feed Spring the apple."
"Oh, okay." Mary frowned slightly but took the apple and knife from Seb.
The next moment, Seb suddenly grabbed Susan's wrist and started pulling her towards the door.
"What are you doing?" Susan was confused and tried to struggle, but Seb's grip was strong.
Seeing Seb dragging Susan out, Spring immediately sat up in bed and shouted, "Daddy, where are you taking Mommy?"
Hearing Spring's voice, Seb stopped, and Susan quickly smiled at Spring, saying, "Spring, be good. I have something to discuss with your daddy. I'll be back soon."
Hearing this, Spring's big, watery eyes filled with tears. "You're lying. You're not coming back!"
"I will definitely come back." Seeing Spring about to cry, Susan's heart tightened.
Seeing Spring's sad expression, Seb immediately let go of Susan's hand and softened his tone, "Why are you crying? I'm just taking your mommy out for a little while. She'll be back soon."
"Really?" Spring's big eyes looked innocently at Seb.
"When have I ever lied to you?" Seb said gently.
Hearing this, Spring finally felt reassured and turned to Mary, saying, "I want to eat the apple."
"Yes, darling, eat it." Mary, who had been in a daze, quickly cut a small piece of apple and put it in Spring's mouth.
Seeing that Spring had calmed down, Seb took Susan's hand and walked out of the ward.
As soon as they stepped into the hallway, Susan angrily shook off Seb's hand, turned to him, and scolded, "Why did you drag me out? You scared Spring."
Seb turned to look in the direction of the ward, then deliberately lowered his voice. "Don't think you can act all high and mighty just because you have Spring as a shield."
Seeing him frown and glare at her, Susan felt very uncomfortable. She turned her face away and said coldly, "What makes you think I need to act in front of you?"
This time, Seb didn't get angry at Susan's retort. Instead, he took a step closer to her.
Seeing him approach, Susan felt scared and took a step back, but her back was against the wall, leaving her with nowhere to retreat.
Seb lowered his head and stared at Susan's chest, speaking softly, "I really doubt if you came to the hospital to take care of Spring or to seduce men."
Hearing this, Susan frowned, not knowing where this accusation came from.
Just as Susan was about to get angry, she noticed his gaze fixed on her chest and looked down.
What she saw made her hair stand on end, and her face blushed.
The next moment, she quickly crossed her arms over her chest.
She had forgotten to wear a bra.
She was wearing a fitted knitted dress, which wasn't thick, and the fabric was quite loose, exposing the curves of her chest.
How could she make such a basic mistake?
Thinking back to earlier at home, when he had given her only three minutes, she had grabbed a random piece of clothing from the closet and rushed out, completely forgetting she wasn't wearing a bra.
At this moment, Susan felt extremely embarrassed, but fortunately, she had only taken off her coat in the ward and no one else had seen her. Otherwise, it would have really made people question her character.
When Susan looked up, she saw Seb's eyes still fixed on her chest, and she angrily said, "Have you seen enough?"
Hearing this, Seb turned his face away and sneered, "I've touched enough."
"You shameless!" Susan raised her voice in anger.
At this moment, Susan realized that Seb was just a scoundrel, and she was so angry that she wanted to slap him.
