Chapter 1026 Quarrel

When Leon heard that, he was stunned for a second before he blew up. "What did you just say? Weaning Milo? Are you serious? He's only nine months old, and you want to wean him already?"

Isabella's face turned red with anger. She already felt bad enough about Milo.

"I'm his mom. I decide when to wean him, not you!" She snapped, yanking her hand away from Leon and storming off.

Leon wasn't even mad at first, but the whole weaning thing set him off.

In a flash, he stepped forward and scooped Isabella up.

"I'm his dad. You need my say-so to wean him!" Leon growled, striding towards the parking lot with Isabella in his arms.

Isabella, already feeling a bit woozy, got even more disoriented when Leon picked her up and spun her around.

"Put me down," she mumbled weakly, feeling sore and uncomfortable all over.

Leon ignored her. By then, Royce had already opened the car door. Leon placed Isabella in the back seat and climbed in himself.

"Where are you taking me?" Isabella leaned against the seat, too tired to fight back. She just glared at Leon.

"Back to your place," Leon replied, which was basically an answer for both of them.

Royce started the engine and hit the road.

It didn't take long for Isabella to realize they were heading to her current place.

She frowned, realizing that since she and Milo moved out, Leon had never shown up—it was always Royce dropping off stuff, so he must know where she lived.

"I can go back on my own; you don't need to take me!" Isabella reached for the door handle, even though the car was still moving.

But the door was locked tight.

Leon’s eyes were dark, and he looked pissed. "I haven't seen Milo in days. I miss him. I'm coming with you to see him."

Isabella turned her face away, saying nothing. He was Milo's dad, after all. She couldn't stop them from seeing each other.

Soon, the car pulled up in front of her building.

As soon as the door opened, Isabella jumped out. She didn't want Leon carrying her again.

She walked ahead, with Leon trailing behind.

Quickly, she unlocked the front door.

The moment it opened, Milo's crying filled the air.

Kathy, who was pacing the living room with Milo in her arms, saw Isabella and Leon walk in together. "Mrs. Johnson, didn't you have an interview? Why are you back so soon? Mr. Johnson, why are you here?"

Leon frowned at Kathy's questions.

Seeing Milo crying in Kathy's arms made Leon's heart ache.

Without a word, he stepped forward, took Milo from Kathy, and grabbed Isabella's wrist, pulling her towards the master bedroom.

"What are you doing?" Isabella tried to pull away, but Leon's grip was firm, and he dragged her into the master bedroom.

Kathy, seeing the tension, wisely retreated to her own room to give them some space.

Leon pulled Isabella into the bedroom and slammed the door shut.

The loud noise made Milo cry even harder.

"Can you be quieter? You're scaring Milo!" Isabella snapped at Leon.

Leon shoved Milo into Isabella's arms. "Feed him. Now."

"I'm weaning him," Isabella shot back.

"He's only nine months old. How can you be so heartless?" Leon's eyes blazed with anger.

His words cut deep, and Isabella felt a lump in her throat.

Milo, seeing his mom, reached for her collar with his chubby hands, crying, "Mommy, Mommy!"

Isabella's eyes welled up. She had been trying to wean Milo, avoiding direct contact for the past two days. But now, with him in her arms, she couldn't resist his cries.

Every sob from Milo broke her heart, and she didn't have the strength to argue anymore.

She lifted her shirt and began to nurse him.

Milo stopped crying immediately, lying quietly in her arms, clutching her collar as if afraid she'd leave.

Tears streamed down Isabella's face as she looked at Milo.

Seeing Milo nursing, Leon's anger melted away.

The room fell silent, except for the sound of Milo nursing.

Leon sat on the edge of the bed.

Feeling his gaze, Isabella turned her back to him.

Leon frowned. "You want to go back to work?"

"I need to support myself and Milo," Isabella replied, still facing away.

Leon sighed. "I don't mind you working, but can you wait until Milo's a bit older? He needs his mom right now."

Isabella hugged Milo tighter, staying silent.

Leon softened. "I'll support you both. Why rush back to work?"

Milo finished nursing and quickly fell asleep, exhausted from crying.

Isabella looked at her sleeping son, his cheeks wet with tears and milk, making him even more precious.

She gently placed Milo on the bed, then stood up, distancing herself from him so Leon could be close.

Leon, seeing Milo sleeping so peacefully, felt his heart swell.

He leaned over, lightly touched Milo's chubby hand with his thick fingers, and kissed his cheek, which still smelled of milk.
