Chapter 711 Go With The Flow
Upon hearing this, Susan was taken aback, then retorted confidently, "Heavy makeup, a skirt so short it doesn't even cover her butt, practically throwing herself at you—if she's not a prostitute, what is she? Oh right, a 'fallen woman,' isn't that what you called her?"
Susan suddenly remembered how he had described that woman last time.
At this moment, Seb looked at Susan's jealous expression and rubbed his nose. "Are you jealous?"
"Get away! I'm asking you a question." Hearing his teasing, Susan pouted and hit his shoulder twice.
Seb took the opportunity to pull her into his arms and said, "I was really drunk at the time; I don't even remember what that woman looked like."
"Hmph, from now on, no woman is allowed to touch you, got it?" Susan warned fiercely.
"Does that include you?" Seb asked with a smirk.
"Except me!" Susan shouted.
"Alright, alright," he laughed, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "From now on, even female mosquitoes are banned from feasting on me. Only the males are welcome."
"Don't be ridiculous," Susan pointed at him sternly.
"Okay, okay, no joking, and I'll be serious." The next moment, Seb frowned and said, "Can I make a suggestion?"
"What?" Susan still looked displeased.
"This couch is so hard, my back hurts!" Seb said, holding his waist with one hand and frowning.
Hearing this, Susan pressed on the couch and said, "The springs are shot. I've just been meaning to replace it."
"How about we move to the bed?" Seb suggested, but he was already lifting Susan in his arms.
Susan quickly wrapped her arms around his neck to feel secure.
He gently placed her on the bed and then leaned over her!
"What are you doing? We just... I'm so tired, I want to sleep!" Susan protested, pushing against Seb's chest.
"One more time, then we'll sleep," Seb said, ignoring her protests, and started kissing her neck.
"Didn't you just say your back hurt?" Susan glanced at his lower back.
Seb grinned, propping himself up on one elbow. "It can't be helped. Haven't you heard? Good women take years off your life. Apparently, their furniture can do the same."
After he finished speaking, Seb put on a puzzled expression.
"Oh, get out of here!" Susan's face blushed.
"Remember to buy some food to replenish my energy tomorrow, or I might not make it through the day," Seb said before pouncing on Susan.
In the following days, Seb was busy handling the paperwork for Hayden and Spring to go to Aelistania.
Susan tried to spend more time with Hayden and Spring, hoping Andrew's situation would be resolved soon so the kids could come back home.
Isabella had been glowing these days, probably because Leon finally had time to spend with her regularly.
One day, Isabella walked into Susan's office and handed her a bag of toys. "I haven't seen Hayden and Spring in a while. I bought these for them; can you give them to the kids?"
"They've asked about you several times. I told them you're in the throes of a romance and don't have time to visit," Susan said with a laugh.
"You're going to corrupt the kids, you know that? Making me sound like some lovesick teenager," Isabella protested immediately.
"Just kidding," Susan said, looking at the toys in the bag. "Thanks on behalf of the kids."
"That's more like it," Isabella said with a smile.
Then Isabella asked, "Hey, have you and Seb made up?"
"Sort of," Susan said, pausing before nodding.
She wasn't sure what her relationship with Seb was now. They weren't married, not exactly dating, but bedmates? That seemed to fit.
"What do you mean 'sort of'? Don't you have any plans to remarry?" Isabella asked anxiously.
"No," Susan replied.
Hearing this, Isabella frowned. "What are you thinking? You divorced Seb because of a last word from his mother. I thought you wanted a clean break, but now you're all lovey-dovey with him. You're just turning yourself from a legitimate wife into someone without any status."
Susan was silent for a long time before saying, "We have Hayden and Spring, and so many years of feelings. It's not something we can just walk away from. Besides, we're not likely to remarry."
"So you're just going to keep living like this?" Isabella asked.
"I don't know. We'll just go with the flow. At least we're divorced now, so he can give his mother some closure and won't feel guilty or unfilial, right?" Susan said, shrugging helplessly.
"You're just going to keep entangling yourselves until you're both old," Isabella shook her head.
At this point, Susan looked at Isabella and said, "Isabella, shouldn't you and Leon be thinking about marriage? You're both in your thirties. If you both like each other, why not get married soon and have a child? Women over thirty-five are considered high-risk pregnancies."
Hearing this, Isabella frowned.
Seeing her silence, Susan asked, "Does Leon not want to get married?"
"I don't know what he's thinking. You know, marriage is something men should bring up. It's not right for me to keep mentioning it. I've hinted at it a few times, but he either didn't get it or pretended not to," Isabella complained.
Hearing this, Susan frowned.
Then she said, "How about I ask Leon? Or have Seb ask him?"
"No!" Isabella quickly refused, then frowned. "I don't want him to think I'm pressuring him. It's not like I'm desperate to get married; I'm just unsure about his feelings. Susan, do you think Leon is just playing with me, and that I'm not the one he wants to marry?"
"Don't overthink it. Leon isn't a casual guy. He's been with Seb for so many years and never had a girlfriend. He's not a player," Susan assured her.
"Then what is it? Does he want to be a lifelong bachelor?" Isabella shook her head. "I can't worry about it anymore. I'll just enjoy each day as it comes. If he gets tired of me, we'll break up."
Hearing this, Susan remained silent but felt a bit worried. However, she couldn't help with this situation. If she meddled, it might affect their relationship and embarrass Isabella.
