Chapter 549 Heartache
Fifteen minutes later, Susan stepped out the door wearing a black cashmere coat, a blue patterned silk scarf, light makeup, and carrying a designer handbag.
She knew there would definitely be women around Seb at this moment, so she dressed up a bit to avoid being outshone.
After getting out of the taxi, Susan looked up at the brightly lit Golden Nightclub ahead, a mixture of apprehension and anger warring within her.
She knew the women in such places were bound to be beautiful and flirtatious, and she might witness something unsightly.
Although she was mentally prepared, her legs still felt a bit weak.
At this moment, a black figure saw Susan and immediately came down the steps to greet her.
"Mrs. Anderson, you're here?" Knowing Susan was coming, Leon had been waiting for her.
"Yes," Susan nodded.
"Mr. Anderson is inside, follow me," Leon said, leading the way for Susan.
Golden Nightclub was indeed the most upscale entertainment club in Maple Valley. The security was very strict, and it took passing through three doors to get into the nightclub.
Leon had to show a gold card and explain a few things to the manager before they allowed Susan in. She remembered the manager even gave her a once-over; luckily, she didn't come looking disheveled, or they might have thought she was here to catch her husband cheating, which wasn't far from the truth.
Leon led the way, and Susan coldly surveyed the nightclub's interior.
The rumors were true; the women inside were indeed very young, probably no older than twenty-five, and all were tall, exceptionally beautiful, dressed sexily yet tastefully, and came in all types of beauty.
Even as a woman, Susan couldn't help but take a second look, let alone the men.
However, the men surrounding these women were quite varied, ranging in age, and while young men were easy to find, young and handsome ones were rare. If Seb came here, he would probably cause quite a stir. Of course, in the end, it all depended on how much money the men had in their pockets.
After winding through the place, Susan's anger had reached its peak.
Even if Catherine was wrong, it wasn't a reason for Seb to come to a place like this, was it?
At this moment, Susan's mind started to wander. Was he a regular here, and she just didn't know?
"Mr. Anderson is over there!" Leon suddenly stopped and pointed ahead.
Susan looked up and saw a familiar figure in a white shirt sitting at a small bar.
Next to him on a high stool was a young girl in a nude-colored spaghetti strap dress.
The girl had long hair that reached her waist, her fingers caressing Seb's shoulder. From a slight angle, Susan could see her bright eyes, straight nose, and especially her slender waist, as delicate as a willow, evoking pity.
The girl was whispering something in Seb's ear, her attitude very flirtatious, with undisguised admiration and flattery in her eyes.
Seeing this, a strong wave of jealousy and anger surged from Susan's heart. She frowned, her face turning even more unpleasant.
Seb had his back to her, so she couldn't see his expression.
"Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Anderson is drunk..." Leon noticed Susan's displeased face and was about to explain.
Susan had already stepped forward.
Approaching Seb and the girl, Susan saw Seb slumped over the table, his eyes barely open, with several empty glasses in front of him, clearly drunk!
At this moment, the anger in Susan's heart began to subside. So he was just drunk and didn't know anything.
The young girl caressing Seb's shoulder frowned at Susan and said, "This customer is mine!"
Clearly, she mistook Susan for one of the hostesses here.
Susan frowned and said, "He's my husband!"
Hearing this, the young girl quickly retracted her hand and slid off the high stool.
She knew that those who could afford to come here were either rich or powerful, and their wives were not ordinary people. They were just after money and didn't want to offend these people.
Susan gave the girl a cold look, then went up to Seb and said, "Let's go home!"
"Don't wanna… More drinks…" Seb mumbled, his words slurring slightly.
Seeing this, Susan immediately took the glass from his hand and frowned. "You can't drink anymore, let's go home!"
With that, Susan pulled him off the high stool, holding his arm, and Leon quickly came to help.
Susan and Leon supported Seb as they left the Golden Nightclub.
The young woman watched them go, a flicker of regret in her eyes. Young, handsome, and rich were a potent combination, but some prizes came with too high a price tag.
Leon drove quickly through the late-night streets.
In the dimly lit car, Susan glanced at Seb, who was slumped in the seat, unconscious, feeling extremely wronged.
After helping Seb to the upstairs bedroom, Susan let Leon leave.
Susan took off Seb's shoes and clothes, then brought a warm towel to wipe his face and hands.
After a long while, Susan sat wearily by the bed, while Seb on the bed was already snoring.
Susan tossed and turned, unable to sleep until late into the night when she finally dozed off.
The next morning, Susan was awakened by a group of birds chirping outside the window.
Opening her sleepy eyes, Susan turned to see the pillow beside her empty.
The next moment, she sat up abruptly.
The person she had worked so hard to bring back wouldn't have left while she wasn't paying attention, would he?
At this moment, she heard the sound of running water.
Susan felt slightly relieved, as the sound was coming from the bathroom; he should be taking a shower.
Leaning against the headboard, Susan suddenly felt unsure of how to face him.
