Chapter 1191 Concerns

After the nurse left for a while, Cecilia could hardly believe her ears.

She felt a bit dizzy and was very worried about Daryl, so she leaned against the cold wall.

"Did Daryl drink too much a few days ago? Was he drowning his sorrows after I rejected him?" Cecilia couldn't imagine that she was so important to him.

"Today, he didn't listen to the doctor and sneaked out of the hospital. No wonder Douglas was always supporting Daryl; it turned out he had a stomach hemorrhage, and he still disregarded his health to come for the interview."

Cecilia suddenly felt very guilty.

She kept leaning against the wall, her eyes fixed on the emergency room door, praying in her heart for Daryl: hoping he was okay.

Not long after, Douglas came out of the emergency room.

Seeing Douglas looking dejected, Cecilia couldn't help but step forward and ask, "Douglas, how is Daryl?"

Douglas looked up, surprised to see Cecilia. "Miss Thorne, what are you doing here?"

"I saw you supporting him and knew something was wrong, so I followed you here."

"Mr. Fields is just a bit unwell, nothing serious," Douglas hesitated for a moment, his expression a bit strange.

"You don't have to hide it from me. I know Daryl has a stomach hemorrhage due to excessive drinking," Cecilia said directly, noticing Douglas's attempt to conceal the truth.

Douglas opened his mouth, then nodded and said, "That night, Mr. Fields got drunk at a restaurant and was urgently admitted to the hospital. The doctor diagnosed it as a stomach hemorrhage. Fortunately, he received timely treatment, so there's no danger, but he needs to stay in the hospital for at least a week. Mr. Fields didn't want me to tell his family or the company, worried it might affect the stock price, so please, Miss Thorne, keep it a secret."

Cecilia nodded first, then asked, "Did he drink a lot that night?"

It seemed that after she left that day, Daryl drowned his sorrows in alcohol. Cecilia felt very regretful at this moment; she should have let him leave first that day, and maybe this wouldn't have happened.

"That night, Mr. Fields got drunk and was in a bad mood. I think it had something to do with you. The next day, you called to invite him for an exclusive interview. He was in the hospital at that time, but he didn't want me to tell you. Yesterday, he felt a bit better and asked me to tell you that you could go ahead with the interview today. I advised him to postpone it, but he was worried you wouldn't be able to meet your deadline, so he had me sneak him out of the hospital today. I didn't expect his condition to worsen. It's all my fault for not stopping him," Douglas said, feeling very guilty.

"Actually, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have left him alone that day, and I shouldn't have called to rush you later."

"There's no point in saying this now, Miss Thorne. Mr. Fields cares about you. If you could stay and take care of him, I think he would recover quickly."

Cecilia looked at Douglas with difficulty.

Douglas awkwardly said, "If it's difficult for you, just pretend I didn't say anything."

Cecilia didn't say anything because she didn't know what to say.

Stay and take care of Daryl? She wanted to. But if she did, things would get even more complicated.

After that, Daryl and Cecilia anxiously waited outside the emergency room.

About an hour later, the emergency room door finally opened!

Douglas rushed up first, and Cecilia, standing by the wall, felt her legs go weak and unable to move.

She saw Daryl lying on the hospital bed, his eyes closed, his face pale and gaunt. She couldn't help but reach out to support the wall, feeling like she was about to collapse.

Douglas followed the nurse as they moved Daryl towards the ward. Cecilia stepped forward anxiously and asked the doctor, "Doctor, how is he?"

The doctor, looking relatively relaxed, said, "The patient has a minor stomach hemorrhage. Although it's not serious, he must receive proper treatment, or it could lead to severe consequences."

Cecilia's tense emotions finally relaxed. "Thank you, doctor."

After the doctor left, she followed Daryl's hospital bed in a daze.

Douglas and the nurse settled Daryl on the hospital bed, and Cecilia stood by the bed the whole time.

Daryl was asleep, completely unaware that Cecilia was standing by his bed.

Just as Cecilia was about to say something, Douglas signaled her not to disturb Daryl, and the two of them left the ward.

Seeing her worried expression, Douglas comforted her, "Miss Thorne, I asked the doctor, and he said Mr. Fields is fine. You don't need to worry too much."

Cecilia nodded, then frowned and said, "The doctor said that although this time it's not serious, he must receive proper treatment and absolutely cannot sneak out of the hospital again, or the consequences will be severe."

Douglas nodded and said, "Miss Thorne, don't worry. I will do everything in my power to make sure Mr. Fields never goes out again!

"Okay," Cecilia nodded.

Then, Douglas said, "Miss Thorne, Mr. Fields is fine now. You should go home and rest."

Cecilia frowned and said, "I'll leave after he wakes up. Don't tell him I was here."

After saying that, Cecilia turned and sat on a bench in the corridor.

Douglas silently stood in front of the ward door.

More than three hours later, Daryl finally woke up.

Douglas and the nurse stood by Daryl's bed, both very happy.

Cecilia stood at the door of the ward, looking through the glass window and seeing that Daryl was in good spirits and had started drinking water.

Seeing this, she felt relieved.

Afraid that Daryl would find her, she quickly left.

After returning, Cecilia began to work hard because once she stopped, she would overthink.

That afternoon, Cecilia inexplicably came to the hospital again.

She quietly walked to Daryl's ward and looked through the glass window, only to see Daryl sitting by the bed, focused on reviewing documents.

Seeing this scene, she couldn't help but frown.

She saw Douglas seemingly reporting something to Daryl. Soon, Douglas turned to leave the ward.

She quickly turned and hid by the wall. When Douglas came out and closed the ward door, he turned and saw her, and couldn't help but be stunned!

Cecilia made a shushing gesture to Douglas, then quickly walked to a place farther from Daryl's ward.

Douglas understood and followed, smiling, "Miss Thorne, are you here to see Mr. Fields?"
