Chapter 1105 Absent-minded
Daryl gazed at the stubborn Cecilia for a moment, then suddenly lowered his head and kissed her on the lips.
Cecilia struggled desperately, her hands slapping against Daryl's chest.
But Daryl, like an angry lion, aggressively bit her lips, making Cecilia's lips feel a burning sensation.
The kiss lasted for a full minute before Cecilia managed to push Daryl away.
Daryl took a step back, his eyes looking at the disheveled Cecilia with a hint of triumphant mockery.
Cecilia hated that expression; she felt he was just toying with her.
Cecilia wiped her swollen lips with the back of her hand and threatened angrily. "Skylar is just outside. Aren't you afraid she'll see?"
"I'll kiss whoever I want. What's it to her?" Daryl replied defiantly.
But in Cecilia's eyes, Daryl was nothing but a complete playboy.
She frowned and stared at Daryl. "Daryl, I didn't think you were this kind of person!"
"What kind of person do you think I am?" Daryl frowned and asked.
At this moment, Cecilia pointed excitedly towards the dining room and said, "Your fiancée is sitting in there right now. You're kissing me here. It's okay if you don't respect me—we're just in a financial relationship—but Skylar loves you so much. Her eyes light up when she looks at you. And now you're treating her like this. Aren't you being a bit heartless?"
Cecilia vented all her thoughts. She used to think Daryl was a decent man, but now she realized he was just as despicable.
"Who told you Skylar is my fiancée?" Daryl frowned and stared at Cecilia.
"I don't need anyone to tell me. Both your families want you to get married soon," Cecilia said, feeling suddenly very downcast.
"That's just what our parents want," Daryl said, his tone softening when he saw Cecilia's dejected expression.
Cecilia didn't catch the meaning behind Daryl's words. Instead, she looked up at him and said earnestly, "Daryl, Skylar is a perfect match for you in terms of family background and personal qualities. And she loves you very much. Since you've chosen her, I hope you treat her well and don't do anything you'll regret later."
Hearing this, Daryl frowned even more. "How do you know I've chosen her?"
"Isn't that clear? She came all this way to see you, and you two are inseparable. Daryl, I'm not stupid or blind. Don't worry, I won't tell Skylar anything about us. We should go back now; we don't want her to get suspicious." With that, Cecilia turned and left.
Watching Cecilia's departing figure, Daryl felt extremely frustrated. He ran a hand through his hair, looking very annoyed.
When Cecilia returned to her seat, she smiled and said, "Sorry to keep you waiting, Skylar."
"It's okay. You don't look well. Are you feeling unwell?" Skylar asked, scrutinizing Cecilia's face.
"Well, my stomach's a bit upset today," Cecilia replied.
"Then you should get some medicine," Skylar said quickly.
At this moment, Daryl returned, sitting down next to Skylar with a stern face.
"Daryl, why did you take so long?" Skylar asked playfully.
"The call was a bit long. Sorry," Daryl replied, glancing at Cecilia as he spoke.
"It's okay. Work comes first!" Skylar said sweetly to Daryl.
At this point, Cecilia couldn't sit still any longer. She smiled and said, "Sorry, Skylar, I really need to get some medicine."
"Do you want me to go with you?" Skylar asked with concern.
"No, I can manage on my own. Goodbye, and have a safe trip!" Cecilia said as she got up and quickly left the restaurant.
After Cecilia left, Daryl asked, "What's wrong with her?"
"She said her stomach is upset," Skylar replied.
Hearing this, Daryl's brow furrowed slightly.
The next moment, Skylar reached out to straighten Daryl's tie and said, "Why is your tie crooked again?"
Hearing this, Daryl hesitated for a moment.
It was probably crooked from his earlier struggle with Cecilia.
The next moment, Daryl touched his tie and said, "The tie is a bit tight today. It feels uncomfortable."
"Let me loosen it for you," Skylar said, reaching for Daryl's tie.
But this time, Daryl loosened the tie himself. "I'll do it myself, thanks."
Seeing him reject her help, Skylar was momentarily stunned, then lowered her head to continue eating.
After that, they talked, but Daryl was clearly distracted.
Back home, Cecilia sat in a daze, feeling as if her heart had been hollowed out.
The next evening, Daryl returned to the villa.
At that moment, Freya was in the kitchen preparing dinner.
Hearing someone return, Freya quickly ran out. Seeing Daryl, she was first stunned, then smiled and nodded. "Mr. Fields, you're back?"
Daryl hadn't been back for a long time, so Freya was quite surprised.
"Yes." Daryl nodded, handing his briefcase to Freya.
Then, Daryl took off his suit and loosened his tie, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
Taking the suit and tie, Freya immediately understood what Daryl was looking for and quickly said, "Ms. Thorne is upstairs."
Hearing this, Daryl nodded slightly, then turned and walked towards the stairs.
Freya watched Daryl's back as he went upstairs, then quickly hung up the clothes and returned to the kitchen to continue preparing dinner.
Daryl walked to Cecilia's room and saw her packing things into a suitcase on the bed.
Seeing this, Daryl frowned.
Then, he stepped inside.
Hearing footsteps, Cecilia looked up and saw Daryl. Her eyes showed little surprise.
By now, Skylar's plane was probably in the air. He must have come back after seeing her off.
Cecilia knew he would likely return tonight after sending Skylar off, so she was mentally prepared.
Daryl glanced at the suitcase, seeing it filled with Cecilia's clothes, toiletries, and some books.
The next moment, Daryl's eyes showed a hint of angry questioning. "What do you mean by this?"
