Chapter 676 Please Put on Your Shoes
Susan saw Seb's sarcastic expression in the rearview mirror and instantly understood that Seb was angry because Leon had opened the passenger door for her.
Susan was also angry. 'Why? Just because you're the boss, you get to be so arrogant?' she thought.
She wanted to argue with him, but she decided to hold back. She still needed to go to the hospital to see Spring, and she didn't want Leon to get into trouble because of her.
At that moment, Leon started the engine, just about to drive off.
Suddenly, Susan reached out, opened the car door, and got out.
"Ms. Wilson." Seeing Susan suddenly get out, Leon quickly pulled the handbrake.
Seb, sitting in the back seat, was also taken aback. He straightened his back and looked up at Susan, wondering what she was up to.
The next moment, Susan turned around, opened the back door, and got into the car.
Both Seb and Leon were a bit surprised by Susan's actions.
"Leon, you can drive now." Sitting in the back seat, Susan looked up at Leon and said.
"Okay." Leon nodded, released the handbrake, stepped on the gas, and the car slowly started moving.
Then, Susan looked at Seb and said, "I asked Leon to open the passenger door for me earlier. Now that I'm back here, there's no need to dock his bonus, is there?"
Hearing this, Seb understood Susan's intention.
After a moment of hesitation, Seb sneered, "Fine, Leon's year-end bonus will be intact. You'd better remember not to act on your own in the future, so others don't suffer because of you."
"I will remember." With that, Susan turned her face away, looking at the trees and people passing by outside the window, not saying another word. After all, she had nothing to say to him.
Soon, Leon parked the car in the hospital parking lot.
Before Leon could get out to open the door, Susan opened the door herself and got out.
Seb, however, was in no hurry. He waited for Leon to open the door for him before getting out.
He buttoned his suit jacket and quickly walked into the hospital.
Susan, in her high heels, hurriedly followed behind him.
Seb continued to walk briskly, not waiting for Susan at all.
They took the elevator to the floor where Spring was hospitalized, and Seb walked quickly down the clean floor.
This floor was full of pediatric wards, and it was very spacious. It was eight hundred feet from one end of the corridor to the other. Seb walked fast with long strides, and Susan, in her high heels, couldn't keep up.
Susan frowned at her high heels, then looked at Seb's tall figure about sixty feet ahead of her. She was afraid she would lose him if she wasn't careful.
The next moment, Susan frowned, bent down, and took off her high heels.
Holding her high heels in her hand, Susan quickly caught up with Seb, barefoot.
Not hearing the sound of high heels behind him for a while, Seb suddenly stopped and turned around.
Susan, who had been hurrying to keep up, couldn't stop in time and bumped her head into Seb's chest!
"Ah!" Susan exclaimed softly. Her head didn't hurt because Seb's chest was quite firm.
But it startled Susan, and she almost lost her balance.
At that moment, a strong arm grabbed her arm, helping her regain her balance and preventing her from falling.
Realizing she had caused trouble again, Susan frowned and quickly took a step back.
At that moment, Susan looked down at her arm. His big hand was still holding her arm.
Susan's heart skipped a beat!
She thought he wouldn't care about her anymore, but he still helped her when she was about to fall. A warm feeling passed through her heart.
"Thank you, oh no, I'm sorry!" Susan said thank you, then realized it was wrong and apologized, feeling very awkward.
Seb, whose chest had been bumped, frowned and then looked at the high heels in Susan's hand!
Seeing the high heels in Susan's hand, Seb looked a bit surprised, then his gaze fell on her feet.
Her feet were bare on the cold floor, her ankles slender, and her toes cute with red nail polish, making them look pitiful.
Seeing him staring at her feet, Susan felt very embarrassed, put her feet together, and said nothing.
At that moment, Seb put his hands in his pockets, looked around, and saw people occasionally passing by, all looking at Susan's feet, which made him very uncomfortable.
"Honestly, do you have any idea how this looks?" he muttered, his voice laced with exasperation. "People are going to think you're three years old, running around barefoot!"
Susan complained, "Is this my fault?"
"Is it my fault then?" Seb glared at Susan.
"You walk so fast, I can't keep up with you!" Susan couldn't help but raise her voice.
"Who told you to wear such high heels? You're here to take care of Spring, not to walk a runway!" Seb growled.
"You only gave me three minutes earlier, so I just grabbed a pair of shoes and rushed out!" Susan said, feeling wronged.
Hearing this, Seb hesitated for a moment and pursed his lips.
At that moment, more people passed by, still glancing at Susan's bare feet.
Seb couldn't hold back and said in a low voice, "Could you please put on your shoes? Half the men in this corridor are ogling your feet."
Susan's feet were very delicate and cute, and he really wanted to punch those men who were sneaking glances.
Susan looked around at the people passing by and felt very embarrassed. She quickly put her high heels on the ground and put them on.
Seeing her put on her shoes, Seb turned and walked away.
After taking a few big steps, he suddenly remembered something and deliberately slowed down.
Seeing Seb slow down, Susan could keep up and couldn't help but smile.
Soon, Seb reached a ward. He gently pushed the door open, probably to avoid disturbing Spring.
Seeing this, Susan quickly pushed Seb aside and squeezed in. She couldn't wait to see Spring.
The VIP ward was very comfortable, with all kinds of appliances and furniture. Spring felt like she was at home, with toys everywhere, without any sense of being in a hospital.
