Chapter 767 Jealousy
Seb grabbed Susan's hand and headed upstairs. "Let Hayden and Spring focus on watching TV. Let's go upstairs to talk."
Seb pulled Susan into the bedroom, and only then did Susan shake off Seb's hand.
"What's wrong with you now? Who upset you?" Seb took off his coat, walked to the edge of the bed, and looked at Susan.
"Have you eaten?" Susan stared at Seb and asked.
Seb replied, "I grabbed a bite outside."
"With Miss Thorne, right?" Susan asked coldly.
At this moment, Susan felt a bit upset. She had guessed right; he really had dinner with Cecilia before coming back.
"Yes," Seb nodded, looking very matter-of-fact.
Seeing his expression, Susan became very angry.
She suddenly stood up, walked to the window, crossed her arms, and started speaking without thinking. "Hayden, Spring, and I waited for you for over an hour, and you didn't come back. You didn't even answer your phone. If you want to have dinner with Miss Thorne, fine! But the least you could do is call so the kids and I don't sit here starving. I know I have no right to question you or control you, but I'm allowed to have an opinion!"
Seb glanced at Susan, who was standing with her back to him, then the corner of his mouth curved into a smile.
Seb walked up to Susan, and she glanced at him, seeing the smile on his face, which made her even angrier.
"What are you smiling about? It seems you're in a good mood tonight. Yes, Miss Thorne is young, beautiful, elegant, and talented. Having dinner with her must be delightful!" Susan said, unable to hold back.
Susan herself didn't expect to say something so insinuating, but she was just too angry to control her emotions.
"Cecilia is indeed young and beautiful, and very energetic. Men like that," Seb nodded.
Hearing this, Susan was furious and immediately stepped forward to push Seb, shouting, "If that's the case, why did you come back?"
Seeing Susan about to lose control, Seb quickly grabbed her shoulders and smiled. "Alright, alright, I was just joking. Actually, I'm quite happy today."
"Happy to finally have dinner with Miss Thorne?" Susan frowned.
Seb shook his head. "What's so great about having dinner with her? I'm happy because of how you are right now."
"Seb, are you happy that I'm angry?" Susan asked, annoyed.
"I'm happy that you're jealous," Seb said, looking deeply at Susan.
Hearing this, Susan stared blankly at Seb, not understanding.
Seb held her shoulders tightly and smiled. "You're so easily jealous of her, which means you care about me a lot. You can't control your emotions, which means I'm important to you, right?"
"What do you mean?" Susan was confused by Seb.
She was jealous and angry, and he was happy?
Seeing Susan's bewildered look, Seb finally began to explain. "When I was dropping off Cecilia, I accidentally rear-ended another car, and Cecilia's head got injured..."
Before Seb could finish, Susan anxiously looked him over and urgently asked, "Rear-ended? Are you hurt?"
At this moment, Susan felt a bit guilty. He really had an accident, but she had been doubting and complaining about him all night.
Seeing Susan's worried look, Seb held her shoulders and smiled. "I'm fine. Cecilia got a minor injury. After reporting the accident, I took her to a nearby clinic for treatment. It was late, and she was a bit shaken, so I stayed with her for a bite to eat before taking her home. That's why I came back late."
Hearing this, Susan asked, "Is Cecilia okay?"
"Just a minor injury," Seb replied.
Thinking for a moment, Susan still complained, "I called you several times, and Mary also called Cecilia. Why didn't you answer?"
"We had a car accident, and Cecilia's head was injured. We were busy reporting the accident and getting treatment. How could we answer the phone?" Seb explained.
Susan knew Seb was right, but she still felt uncomfortable.
Cecilia was clearly trying to get close to Seb, but he seemed oblivious. She didn't want to explain it to him, fearing he would mock her for being petty. Susan felt very uneasy.
Seeing Susan frowning, Seb turned away and smiled.
"What are you smiling at?" Seeing the hint of mockery on his face, Susan asked angrily.
Seb had her sit on the bed and sat down next to her.
Then he smiled and asked, "Do you dislike Cecilia?"
Susan pouted and said, "Well, I don't like her."
"Why?" Seb asked, staring at Susan.
His gaze made her uncomfortable, so she said, "Don't you feel she's hostile towards me?"
Hearing this, Seb's smile deepened.
"Why are you always smiling?" His smile made her uneasy.
Seb then reached out and patted Susan's head, saying, "Don't worry, I won't let her succeed."
Hearing this, Susan stared blankly at Seb.
What did he mean? Not let Cecilia succeed? Succeed in what? Did he understand Cecilia's feelings for him?
That jerk Seb, he knew everything but pretended not to. He was just teasing her!
Susan then angrily pushed Seb. "Explain yourself. What do you mean by not letting Cecilia succeed?"
Seeing Susan's angry look, Seb hugged her waist and said playfully, "Do I need to spell it out?"
"What? Are you implying there's something going on with her?" Susan asked, raising her chin.
"Come on, don’t drag my reputation through the mud. There's nothing going on with Cecilia," Seb immediately clarified.
"Hmph!" Susan snorted coldly. "Who knows what you two did all this time? She got scared, and you could comfort her, right?"
"Why does that sound like jealousy to me?" Seb teased.
