Chapter 403 Having an Affair with a Young Girl

Susan never thought her first business deal would come from Linda, and Linda even brought in two clients. Susan was super grateful for Linda's help and realized having a friend was way better than having an enemy.

Even though these two cases were small, Susan stuck to her rule of giving her all, no matter the size. In just a couple of days, she knocked both cases out of the park. The clients were stoked and gave Linda the thumbs up.

Linda saw that Susan was serious about making it big, so she kept sending more clients her way. They were all small-time, but they helped Susan make some cash and, more importantly, build a rep in the biz.

One morning, Isabella knocked on Susan's office door, peeked in, and whispered, "Susan, someone’s here to see you. Says they were sent by Seb's assistant, Leon."

Susan frowned at that.

Seb had been in the central district for the past few days, so why would he send someone over?

"Let him in," Susan nodded.

Isabella made a welcoming gesture, and a young guy in a gray suit walked in.

"Ms. Wilson, hello! Here’s my card. Mr. Johnson sent me," the guy handed over a business card with both hands.

Taking the card, Susan saw his name was Dustin Wagner, a department manager at a subsidiary of Prosperity Group.

Susan already had a hunch why he was there, so she looked up and said, "Mr. Wagner, I don’t think you’re here for personal reasons, are you?"

"I came today..." Dustin started to say.

Susan cut him off, "Mr. Wagner, our firm is tiny, as you can see, just five or six people. We can’t handle Prosperity Group’s business. If there’s nothing else, please leave!"

She placed the business card back in front of Dustin.

Dustin was stunned, and Isabella, standing at the door, was also surprised.

Dustin then smiled and said, "Ms. Wilson, Mr. Johnson specifically told me to come here. Plus, we’re just a subsidiary of Prosperity Group, so our business isn’t that big. Your firm can definitely handle it."

Even though Dustin was there to bring business, he was laying it on thick.

Susan was getting impatient and didn’t want to waste more time. She said directly, "I said we won’t take Prosperity Group’s business. Isabella, show him out!"

Hearing Susan’s direct order, Dustin looked at Isabella, then back at Susan. Shaking his head in disappointment, he said, "How can you turn away business? I won’t be able to explain this when I go back!"

Susan turned her face away, saying nothing.

In the end, Dustin had no choice but to be escorted out by Isabella.

Susan knew Seb probably meant well, but she couldn’t accept such kindness anymore, fearing she might become too dependent on him.

Isabella then ran back in, closing the office door behind her.

Leaning on the desk with her chin in her hands, she asked, "What's up with you? Turning away business? Seb meant well, didn't he? Giving us business ain't a bad thing, right? Besides, if we don't do Prosperity Group's work, someone else will. We're not charging him extra, so why turn it down?"

Susan hadn't told Isabella about seeing Seb having dinner with a young girl in the central district last time, so she kept her concerns to herself.

Susan then smiled and said, "Do we want to build a company on our own strength, or become a subsidiary of Prosperity Group in the future?"

"Of course, we want to build a company on our own strength," Isabella nodded. "I get it. So we can't accept Seb's kindness in the future, right?"

"Right. That's my principle," Susan nodded.

"Got it. I'll get back to work," Isabella said with a smile and turned to leave.

That afternoon, Susan went out to meet a client. After the meeting, it was already past three o'clock. Seeing that she was close to Catherine's house, Susan bought some food nearby and decided to drop by.

As soon as she entered the hallway, Susan saw that Catherine's door was open, and she could hear Catherine talking to a man inside.

"Can't you just go and check?" The man's voice was urgent.

"I said no!" Catherine's voice was firm.

Susan immediately recognized the man's voice as James's. Hearing his voice made her blood boil.

Susan walked in with the food.

She saw Catherine sitting on the sofa, looking serious and upset. James was standing in front of her, frowning and looking desperate.

Susan thought James was there to pester Catherine about getting back together, so she angrily stepped forward and said, "James, what are you doing here again?"

Seeing Susan, James angrily said, "I'm your father. Is it right for a daughter to call her father by his name?"

Susan sneered, "My father died a long time ago!"

"You..." James raised his hand in anger.

Susan wasn't scared at all. She stepped forward and glared at James. "Go ahead and hit me. This time, I'll make sure you end up in jail!"

"You..." James, seeing Susan's defiance, lowered his hand and muttered, "I'm not here to argue with you. I'm here to ask Catherine to help Dorothy."

Hearing this, Susan frowned. "What's wrong with Dorothy?"

James replied, "It's that Henry. He started working at a training school and got involved with the receptionist there. Dorothy couldn't take it and went to confront the girl with Amanda!"

Susan was stunned!

Henry found another woman? Hearing this news, Susan felt it couldn't be true. Henry was a man of integrity who despised such behavior. How could he do this?

So, the next moment, Susan pointed at James and questioned, "Did you put Dorothy up to this?"

"What do you mean? Is it right for Henry to openly cheat?" James retorted, raising his neck.

"Do you have any proof that Henry is having an affair with the receptionist?" Susan couldn't believe it.

"Of course! I followed them and saw them go to a hotel more than once. Dorothy also found their flirty messages on Henry's phone!" James shouted.
