Chapter 64 You're Just Trying to Embarrass Me

Looking down, she saw it was Henry calling and quickly answered.

"Susan, there are openings in our accounting department this year for transfers. Dorothy's been doing great in her current department, and I've already talked to the higher-ups. The transfer should be a breeze. I have the transfer form here. Where are you? I'll bring it to you," Henry said.

Susan was thrilled. It looked like Dorothy could really get into the accounting department at Southern University.

"No need, I'll come get it myself. I don't want to interrupt your class," Susan replied quickly.

"Alright, I'll wait for you in the office," Henry said before hanging up.

Susan hurried upstairs to change. Henry usually had class at nine, and it was eight now. It would take her about half an hour to get to Southern University, just in time not to delay Henry's class.

Ten minutes later, Susan was dressed and ready. She grabbed her bag, said a quick word to Kathy, and headed out the door.

At the door, she hailed a cab and headed straight for Southern University.

As the cab drove into the driveway, a black luxury car followed behind.

Sitting in the back seat, Seb's face was stern. As the cab got closer to Southern University, his hands clenched.

The cab slowly stopped in front of the Southern University gate. After paying, Susan got out and quickly walked onto the campus.

The cab drove away, and Susan's figure disappeared into the campus. The luxury car remained parked in place.

"Mr. Anderson," Leon, the driver, started to say something.

"Drive!" Seb immediately interrupted him.

Leon had no choice but to start the engine again, and the car quickly disappeared from the Southern University gate.

In the afternoon, Susan dragged her tired body back to Seb's place.

She had picked up the application form from Henry's office, then went back to Catherine's house to take Dorothy to handle the transfer application. She had a quick lunch, sent Dorothy back, and then took a cab home. This day had exhausted her, especially being pregnant.

Entering the house, she changed into slippers and walked into the living room while massaging her shoulders.

But as soon as she looked up, she saw Seb sitting on the sofa, which startled her!

Why was Seb home at this hour? He sat upright, his gaze as cold as ice, making her shiver.

"Where did you go?" Seb's voice was extremely cold.

"Home," Susan said flatly, then turned and sat on another sofa.

She knew she would have to face him sooner or later. 'But didn't he want a divorce to be with Cynthia? Why was he looking at me like this now?' Susan thought, feeling a bit annoyed.

"You're still lying?" Seb was furious and threw an ashtray onto the floor.

With a loud crash, the ashtray shattered on the floor, and glass shards scattered at Susan's feet.

Being pregnant, Susan couldn't handle such a fright, so she instinctively touched her belly, her heart racing.

"I'm not lying," Susan lowered her voice as much as possible, afraid of scaring the baby in her belly.

Seeing Susan's stubbornness, Seb suddenly stood up and took a step to stand in front of her.

Susan felt dizzy, and the next moment, Seb grabbed her wrist.

"Still arguing? You clearly went to Southern University!" Seb's brows furrowed tightly.

Susan was shocked. "Did you follow me, or did you have someone follow me?" she angrily questioned.

"Does it matter?" Seb responded coldly.

"So what if I went to Southern University? Do I not have personal freedom?" Susan tried to shake off Seb's hand, but his grip was like an iron clamp, and she couldn't break free no matter how hard she tried.

"Why did you go to Southern University? Did you go to see Henry?" Seb's veins bulged on his forehead, and his voice grew louder with each word.

Hadn't Seb already made his choice? She was just a stand-in for Cynthia. Did he still care if she went to see another man?

This might be the flaw of wealthy men like him. Even if they didn't like something, they wouldn't allow others to touch it.

"Can't I have a male friend? At least Henry and I are innocent, unlike you and that Cynthia, sneaking around!" Susan retorted angrily.

Hearing this, Seb's eyes narrowed. "How do you know about Cynthia? What else do you know?"

Seeing him seem nervous, Susan couldn't help but sneer. "I know everything. So what? Seb, if you don't want people to know, don't do it. Don't think everyone else is a fool!"

Although Susan exposed him, the pain in her heart was known only to herself.

At this moment, Seb's grip on Susan's wrist loosened a bit, and she took the opportunity to push him away and pull her wrist free.

Looking down at her wrist, which was already a bit bruised, she frowned.

Seb ran a hand through his hair, paced back and forth in the living room, and then his tone softened.

"Susan, I've been meaning to tell you about Cynthia..."

Before Seb could finish, Susan coldly interrupted him, "You don't need to explain. I don't want to hear it!"

What was there to explain? Seb loved Cynthia. Susan didn't want to hear him say it out loud. She feared she couldn't bear it.

How could she have fallen in love with Seb? This was the question Susan had been asking herself for days.

She had seen many women fall in love with rich men, dreaming of marrying into wealth, and she despised such dreams. But why had she started dreaming the same dream? And now, karma had come; she would be miserably abandoned.

Seb stared at Susan, his expression hardening again, and his gaze turned cold. Tilting his head, he asked, "Are you aware of what happened between me and Cynthia? Are you trying to get back at me by going to Henry? You're just trying to embarrass me, trying to cuckold me, aren't you?"

Susan couldn't believe he would think that. While many women might do that to get back at a cheating husband, she wasn't one of those foolish women. Seb was insulting her!

Susan wanted to refute, but she was so angry that she spoke without thinking, "Mr. Anderson, you're too confident. I'm not so low as to degrade myself to get back at you. I went to see Henry because I think he's better than you!"

Her words reignited Seb's fury.

He grabbed Susan's shoulders, his eyes fierce, and asked, "What did you say? Say it again!"
