Chapter 857 Possessed by Inner Demons
Susan stood behind the screen, peeking through a small gap and saw Seb and Ellie snuggled up on the couch.
Seb had this gentle look on his face, while Ellie looked all sweet and cozy against him. Seeing this, Susan clutched her chest.
This scene was way too familiar. They used to be like this all the time, but now it was someone else beside him.
Susan's eyes started to fill up. She had this gut feeling she was about to lose Seb for good.
Thinking about it, Susan felt like her heart was being ripped out.
Ellie glanced towards the screen, then suddenly wrapped her arms around Seb's neck and softly said, "Seb."
Seb frowned a bit.
Ellie gave a faint smile and said, "I'm tired."
Hearing this, Seb smiled and patted Ellie's hair. "Then go rest."
At that moment, Ellie leaned in close to Seb's ear and whispered, "Carry me upstairs."
Seb was momentarily stunned.
Then he nodded. "Okay, I'll carry you up!"
With that, Seb bent down and scooped Ellie up in his arms.
Ellie's laughter filled the living room as he lifted her.
At this moment, Susan took a step back and leaned against the cold wall.
She knew exactly what was coming next; this scene was all too familiar. They used to be like this too, with him carrying her upstairs, eagerly opening the bedroom door, laying her on the bed, and making love.
Susan didn't want to think about it anymore. She shook her head desperately, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
"No, Seb, you can't do this to her," Susan murmured in her heart.
But the next moment, Susan realized that this was definitely not their first time making love.
Ellie, cradled in Seb's arms, wrapped her arms around his neck and said softly, "Seb, I love you."
Seb had already reached the stairs. Hearing this, he smiled and said to Ellie in his arms, "I love you too."
Ellie smiled contentedly and rested her head on his shoulder. "I wish we could grow old together right now."
As he climbed the stairs, Seb frowned and asked, "Why do you want to grow old? Aren't women most afraid of aging?"
"Because if we grow old, it means we've been together a long time," Ellie said playfully.
Seb's laughter echoed down the stairs.
At this moment, Susan slowly walked out from behind the screen, her tears already dripping onto the floor.
Susan stood at the foot of the stairs, staring blankly at the empty staircase.
Looking down at her feet, she really wanted to follow them upstairs to see what would happen next.
But it was just a fleeting impulse because she knew that if she went upstairs, her heart would shatter and never heal again.
Even if she went up, she couldn't change or stop anything. It would only make Seb hate her even more.
It seemed like her relationship with Seb had really hit the end of the road.
As Ellie said, Seb had already fallen for her. Even if he could remember Susan, it was unclear who he truly loved.
Since he had found someone he loved and was happy with Ellie, there was no point in her wrecking their happiness.
The sad part was, even if she wanted to mess things up now, she didn't have the power to do it.
Susan kept crying, her legs giving out, almost collapsing to the ground.
Seb gently placed Ellie on the bed and was about to turn and leave.
But Ellie clung to Seb's neck, not letting go. "Seb, can you stay with me a little longer?"
Seb pursed his lips and then obediently sat down beside Ellie.
Ellie lay in Seb's arms, her fingers tracing circles on his shirt.
"What's up with you today?" After a long time, Seb finally spoke.
Hearing this, Ellie looked up at Seb with loving eyes and said, "Seb, we're about to get married. Why don't you want me?"
Seb smiled, reached out, and stroked her hair. "Didn't I just recover from a leg injury?"
"But your leg injury is all better now," Ellie argued.
Seb was momentarily speechless. After hesitating for a while, he suddenly hugged Ellie's shoulders and said awkwardly, "Ellie, I'm sorry!"
Ellie, at this moment, clung to Seb's shoulders, pouting. "I don't want your apology!"
Seb was at a loss for words.
Ellie then kissed Seb's forehead and cheeks, then his lips, her hands constantly teasing him.
Ellie was so enthusiastic that Seb couldn't say no. He didn't want to hurt her feelings.
Then, Seb began to gently kiss Ellie in his arms.
Ellie was thrilled that he was finally willing to be intimate with her, wrapping her arms around his neck, her lips passionately entangled with his.
However, after a long time, Seb didn't show much reaction.
His breathing remained steady, his body temperature didn't rise, and there was no hint of passion, only his usual calm and gentleness, his eyes still serene.
After a bland kiss, Ellie looked at Seb, who was holding her, with disappointment and confusion.
"Seb, do you not love me?" Ellie's voice was choked with tears, her eyes filled with hurt.
"Ellie, don't overthink it," Seb frowned and explained.
"How can I not overthink it? If a man loves a woman, how could he avoid being intimate with her for so long?" Ellie pushed Seb away and turned her back to wipe her tears.
Looking at Ellie's back, her light blue nightgown accentuated her graceful figure, and the large expanse of exposed skin was really delicate.
But strangely, he felt nothing.
Seb frowned. At this moment, what flashed in his mind was Susan's graceful and wild dance at the nightclub, her black dress, and her pleasant scent.
Seb shook his head and didn't understand why he suddenly thought of Susan at this moment.
