Chapter 20
The elevator was packed again.
With no other option and not wanting to be late, Susan took the freight elevator.
Luckily, it was empty this time.
She hit her floor number, and the doors were about to close.
Suddenly, a figure in a black trench coat slipped in.
Seeing Seb, Susan frowned and cursed her luck internally. 'Why him again? Why does the boss always take the freight elevator? Is he doing this on purpose?'
Seb noticed her furrowed brows, his voice smooth and magnetic. "You don't want to see me?"
"No, I'm just curious, Mr. Anderson. How did you end your lovey-dovey time with Amelia so quickly?" Susan's tone dripped with sarcasm.
Seb lowered his head and smiled.
"What are you laughing at?" Susan felt his smile was anything but innocent.
"You're jealous." Seb's gaze was intense.
"Are you kidding me?" Susan was annoyed.
Seb stepped closer, placing his hands on the elevator wall, trapping her.
"What are you trying to do?" His sudden approach made her nervous.
Seb's presence was overwhelming, and Susan felt his aura enveloping her.
Seeing the fear in her eyes, Seb seemed satisfied. "If you don't like it, I can have that woman leave immediately."
Susan turned her face away. "What does that have to do with me?"
The next moment, Seb's large hands cupped her face, and he kissed her!
Susan's eyes widened in shock. After a stunned two seconds, she pushed him away.
Seb quickly released her, lowering his head. "Who told you to wear lipstick? From now on, you're not allowed to wear it!"
Susan looked up at him in surprise.
She saw Seb wipe his lips with the back of his hand, revealing a smudge of bright red.
It was then Susan realized Seb had just been tasting her lipstick.
The elevator reached her floor.
Susan glared at Seb. "You're disgusting!"
She quickly ran off.
Sitting at her desk, Susan felt anxious.
Seb had just said she wasn't allowed to wear lipstick.
She hadn't worn lipstick for days, but today she put on a little because her face looked pale from morning sickness. She hadn't expected such an incident to happen.
In any case, Susan's mind was completely unsettled by Seb.
Two days later, Carter announced that the company would be buying insurance for everyone, so in the afternoon, everyone had to go to the hospital for a physical exam.
Hearing this news, Susan instinctively felt that Amelia had successfully messed around with Seb. Before she could shake off the strange feeling of rejection, she immediately panicked.
Susan pulled Isabella to a secluded place and complained, "What should I do? If they find out I'm pregnant, it will be very troublesome since I'm not married."
Isabella paced back and forth a couple of times and suggested, "Getting blood drawn and urine tests are easy, you can use mine, but it's a bit tricky during the ultrasound. When you get to the ultrasound room, just say your stomach hurts to buy some time. When there are fewer people, I'll go with you again and slip some money to the technician."
"That's the only way." Susan nodded.
In the afternoon, Susan sat on a bench outside the ultrasound room, feeling very anxious.
"Susan." The nurse called her name.
"Coming." Susan hurried into the ultrasound room.
Seeing the medical staff sitting in front of the ultrasound machine, Susan touched her pants, just about to pretend her stomach hurt.
At that moment, a tall figure suddenly emerged from behind the curtain, standing in front of her.
Looking up, she saw Seb staring at her with a half-smile. Meeting his deep eyes, Susan's heart skipped a beat.
