Chapter 812 A Clean Break Between Us

"Don't sweat it, Seb left me with a couple of bodyguards before he took off. I'll call them over to stay at the house," Susan said after thinking it over for a second.

"Alright," Isabella nodded quickly.

Not wanting to take any chances, Susan immediately called the bodyguards to come and keep an eye on the house.

In no time, the two bodyguards were standing at the villa's gate.

Seeing them, Isabella felt a wave of relief, and Susan relaxed a bit too.

For the next couple of days, Leon was lurking around the villa, making it impossible for Isabella to step out.

Susan didn't dare to leave either, worried something might happen.

But Susan knew this couldn't go on; they needed a solution.

After dinner, Susan brought it up with Isabella, "Isabella, this isn't working. How about I call Leon over, and you two have a calm, honest talk to clear things up?"

Isabella thought for a moment and said, "I feel like he's lost it. Do you really think he can talk calmly?"

Susan had to admit Isabella had a point. Leon did seem a bit off, way too anxious about the baby.

"Maybe there's a misunderstanding, or he has his reasons. I think you should talk it out. This stalemate is bad for your emotions, and you've got a long way to go before the baby comes. You can't keep this up," Susan said earnestly.

Deep down, Susan still believed Leon wasn't a bad guy and must have his reasons. Even a bad person wouldn't want to harm their own child.

Isabella thought it over and finally said, "Alright, I'll see him one last time. I need to make it clear I'm keeping this baby."

"Let me talk to him first," Susan said, getting up and heading out after Isabella agreed.

As she got closer to Leon, she noticed his bloodshot eyes, a sign he hadn't slept well in days.

Leon was smoking, and there were a bunch of cigarette butts in the corner.

"Isabella wants to talk to you," Susan said, looking at Leon.

Leon was stunned at first, then a hint of joy flashed in his eyes, but his face stayed gloomy.

Susan continued, "I hope you can keep your cool. Yelling and arguing won't solve anything. Plus, Isabella's pregnant. One wrong move, and you could lose the baby and risk her health."

Leon immediately tossed his cigarette and nodded. "I get it."

Susan always thought Leon was reasonable, so she nodded and stepped aside. "Come on in."

Leon followed Susan into the villa. As soon as they walked into the living room, a kid ran over.

"Uncle Leon, what brings you here?" Hayden hugged Leon's waist and asked, looking up at him with big eyes.

Leon looked down at Hayden, smiled, and patted his head. "Do I need to report to you?"

Hayden and Leon were close, since Leon had watched him grow up, so they were always happy when they met.

"So I can ask Kathy to whip up something yummy for you!" Hayden said with a cute smile.

Leon chuckled and said, "That sounds good! All my care for you paid off!"

Susan, seeing Leon's affectionate look at Hayden, couldn't help but say, "Leon, you adore Hayden so much. Don't you want a kid of your own?"

She still wanted to persuade Leon. After all, he and Isabella were in love. Why didn't he want the baby Isabella was carrying?

Leon frowned, his hand still on Hayden's head, then he let go.

His eyes seemed a bit misty, and he quickly looked away, asking, "Where's Isabella?"

"Over here," Susan said, leading Leon to the study downstairs.

The door opened, and Isabella was sitting in a chair, looking troubled.

Isabella and Leon locked eyes, both frowning.

Susan felt the tension and turned to remind Leon, "Talk it out calmly, no arguing or fighting, okay?"

"Okay," Leon nodded.

Only then did Susan feel reassured enough to leave the room.

After the door closed, the atmosphere in the study was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

After a long silence, Leon finally spoke up.

He looked at Isabella and said, "If you're willing to abort the baby, I'll give you half of my assets. After that, we'll pretend we don't know each other. You can find a good man, have kids with him, and live a happy life."

Isabella stared at Leon in disbelief.

His idea was so outrageous that she couldn't believe her ears.

Leon continued, "This is the most sincere offer I can make."

Isabella slowly stood up, walked to Leon, and looked at him with tearful eyes, asking, "Leon, be honest with me. Do you have another woman out there?"

Leon felt uncomfortable under Isabella's gaze. He turned his face away and said casually, "Think whatever you want."

Isabella suddenly burst into laughter.

Leon frowned, watching her.

After a while, Isabella stopped laughing. "I see why you want me to abort the baby and are willing to give me half of your assets. You have another woman, right? She must be a rich heiress. Otherwise, why would you be so generous?"

Leon sneered, his face darkening, "Since you know, will you change your mind?"

Isabella placed her hand on her belly, hesitated for a moment, and then said firmly, "Leon, let me tell you, I don't care about your money or you. The only thing I care about is my baby. I will give birth to this child, and we will cut all ties. Let's pretend we never knew each other!"

After saying this, Isabella turned her back to Leon, not wanting to look at him anymore, but tears flowed down her face like broken beads.

Behind her, Leon clenched his fists, his brows furrowed tightly, his face dark, and his deep eyes moist.

"By doing this, you'll ruin the child's life. Do you understand?" Leon said, his voice filled with emotion.
