Chapter 792 Heavy

Seb's stare made Susan a bit uneasy. She quickly smiled and said, "Go wash up, it's time to eat."

"Okay." Seb nodded and headed to the bathroom.

As Seb walked away, Kathy came over and whispered, "Ms. Wilson, Mr. Anderson only listens to you now."

Susan felt a bit embarrassed and gave a shy smile.

Soon, Seb came back and sat down next to Hayden and Spring.

"Daddy, Mommy made a ton of food today!" Spring said softly.

"Mommy loves you the most. These are all your favorite dishes, right?" Seb said, putting a chicken wing on Spring's plate.

Hayden, sitting next to Spring, scoffed, "Daddy, you're full of it. Mommy made all this because you're home for dinner. Spring and I aren't as important as you!"

Susan frowned at this.

Seb looked up, exchanged a glance with Susan, then lightly tapped Hayden on the head, saying, "Stop talking nonsense!"

"I'm telling the truth, how is that nonsense?" Hayden shot back.

"Say it again and see if I don't smack you!" Seb tapped Hayden on the head again.

Hayden pouted, and Susan quickly stepped in, saying to Seb, "How many times have I told you not to hit Hayden's head? What if you make him dumb?"

"Yeah, what if you make me dumb?" With Susan's protection, Hayden made a face at Seb.

Seb, while serving food to Spring, said, "Don't worry, Hayden's always so smart, he won't get dumb."

"Daddy, am I smart too?" Spring asked adorably, looking up at Seb.

Seeing Spring's big, blinking eyes, Seb's heart melted, and he quickly said, "Spring is the smartest girl."

Hayden pulled Susan to complain, "Mommy, Daddy is so biased. He's so gentle with Spring but so strict with me!"

Susan couldn't help but laugh.

Seb, however, sternly said to Hayden, "Still competing with Spring for attention? Spring is much younger than you, okay?"

"Hayden, you're the older brother. You need to take care of Spring," Susan said gently, patting Hayden's head.

Hayden replied impatiently, "I know, I know. She's always younger than me, and I'll look after her for the rest of my life. Mommy, why didn't you have Spring first?"

After saying this, Hayden shook his head and then lowered it to eat.

Susan smiled and served Hayden some food.

Seeing Hayden eating with a pout, Seb's eyes softened, and he reached out to pat Hayden's head, saying earnestly, "Hayden, if it weren't for you, there probably wouldn't be a Spring. Spring was born to save you."

Hearing this, Susan's eyes reddened. Although many years had passed, the memories were still vivid.

She and Seb had gone through so much, yet they still couldn't be together in the end.

Thinking of this, Susan's eyes became a bit moist.

But she knew this was a heartwarming moment for the family, so she had to control her emotions. She quickly got up to serve some soup.

Hearing Seb's words, Hayden looked up, puzzled. "Daddy, what do you mean? How did Spring save me?"

Seb saw Hayden's big, confused eyes and knew he was too young to get it. He patted Hayden's head and smiled, "You're still a kid. When you grow up, I'll explain it."

"Alright, then I need to eat more to grow taller." Hayden said, diving back into his food.

Watching Hayden eat like there was no tomorrow, Seb smiled, but it was a heavy one.

Susan placed a bowl of soup in front of Seb. "Thanks," he said, looking up at her.

Susan couldn't help but tease, "Since when did you get so polite?"

"Let's eat," Seb replied.

"You too," Susan said, sitting down across from him.

They ate, helping Hayden and Spring with their food.

Once Hayden and Spring were full, Susan turned to Mary and Kathy, "Mary, take Hayden and Spring to the living room. You and Kathy should eat too."

"Okay," Kathy and Mary said, leading the kids away.

Now, it was just Seb and Susan in the dining room. The room got quiet, and things felt a bit awkward.

Seb broke the silence. "You said you had something important to talk about?"

"Oh," Susan nodded, avoiding his eyes.

Seb frowned, "What is it?"

Susan hesitated, then finally looked up, forcing a smile. "We've been in Northstar City for a month now. Shouldn't we be heading back?"

Even though Susan didn't want to leave, she knew they couldn't stay in Northstar City forever. Maybe after leaving, he'd decide about their future.

Seb felt his appetite vanish. "What? Are you tired of Northstar City?"

"Of course not!" Susan quickly denied.

Seeing Seb's gaze, she changed her tone. "I mean, there are so many things waiting for you at Prosperity Group. You can't stay away forever, and it's not fair for Isabella to handle everything at my firm either!"

Seb replied, "I haven't decided when to go back yet. I want to stay in Northstar City a bit longer."

"But..." Susan started.

Seb cut her off, "Leon is managing Prosperity Group just fine, and Isabella can handle your small firm."

Susan lowered her head.

Seb frowned, "What are you really trying to say? Do you need to hide it from me?"

Susan finally said, "I know why you've been avoiding me these past few days. I don't want to see you like this."

She kept her head down, not daring to meet his eyes.

Then she heard Seb's angry complaint.

"I knew Kathy was a blabbermouth, telling you everything!" Seb angrily threw his knife and fork on the table.
