Chapter 1279 Ovulation Period
At that moment, Daryl reached out and grabbed Cecilia's hand, a playful grin on his face. "You know, you look even cuter when you're jealous!"
"You're such a pain!" Cecilia laughed, giving Daryl's hand a light slap.
Daryl pulled Cecilia into a hug, his expression turning serious. "Look, my mom can pick whoever she wants as her goddaughter, but the woman I love, my wife, will always be you."
Cecilia's face softened into a smile. "It's just that Skylar seems to have it out for me. It's not that I don't want her in the family, it's just... it feels weird."
"You're my wife now, and you'll be the lady of the Fields family. You'll meet a lot of people you don't like, but you'll have to deal with them. Cecilia, there are things I can help you with, but there are also things you'll have to handle on your own," Daryl said, holding her shoulders.
Cecilia leaned against Daryl's chest, her hand resting over his heart. "I know, I'll try to adjust."
"Just remember one thing: the only person I love is you," Daryl said, gently pushing her shoulders back to look into her eyes with utmost seriousness.
Cecilia smiled and then playfully pushed Daryl's shoulder. "You better not love anyone else!"
"I wouldn't dare," Daryl replied, then he pressed Cecilia down onto the soft mattress.
His kiss was intense, filled with passion and wildness.
Cecilia wrapped her arms around Daryl's neck, responding to him with equal fervor.
As Daryl's hands began to tug at Cecilia's nightgown, she suddenly remembered something and quickly pushed against his chest. "Wait, stop!"
"What's wrong?" Daryl paused, his brow furrowing at her sudden reaction.
Cecilia didn't answer immediately. She pushed Daryl away, jumped out of bed, and walked to the vanity. She opened a drawer, took out a bottle of pills, and swallowed a few with some water.
"What are you taking?" Daryl asked, coming over to her side and picking up the bottle.
"Folic acid," Cecilia said with a smile.
Daryl frowned. "Folic acid?"
Folic acid was a supplement for pregnancy preparation. Hearing that Cecilia was taking it, Daryl looked at her with surprise.
Seeing his reaction, Cecilia blushed and smiled. "It's just folic acid, why are you so surprised?"
She turned away, feeling a bit shy.
Tonight, she had worn her most seductive nightgown, hoping to get pregnant.
Daryl looked at the bottle in his hand, then gently placed it back on the vanity. He sighed softly and then put his hands on Cecilia's shoulders. "You want to have a baby?"
"Yes," Cecilia nodded lightly.
Daryl said, "Having a baby isn't something we need to rush. Shouldn't we enjoy our time together a bit more?"
He wrapped his arms around her waist.
"We've already had four months of just us. Isn't that enough?" Cecilia smiled.
"It's never enough. I could enjoy it forever," Daryl said, kissing her neck.
"But your mom already talked to me today," Cecilia said, turning to face him.
"What did she say?" Daryl asked.
"She said she and Dad want a grandchild soon. We need to hurry," Cecilia replied.
Daryl frowned. "Hurry? What does that mean?"
"It means... I'm ovulating right now," Cecilia said, blushing.
Daryl hesitated, frowning slightly.
"Don't you want to have a baby with me?" Cecilia asked, lifting her chin.
"Of course I do. I just thought we could enjoy our time together a bit longer. And having a baby should happen naturally. Don't stress about it. My mom has been wanting a grandchild for years, and she's still fine," Daryl said.
"But she was very serious today. She not only wants us to get pregnant soon but also wants a boy. I can try to get pregnant, but I can't control having a boy!" Cecilia complained.
Daryl couldn't help but laugh.
"What's so funny?" Cecilia raised her voice, feeling mocked.
"You're right, you can't control that," Daryl said, holding her shoulders.
"I don't care. I want a baby, a baby with you," Cecilia declared.
"Okay, I agree," Daryl said with a smile.
"Then let's do it," Cecilia said, wrapping her arms around Daryl's neck and pulling him back onto the bed.
Cecilia was on top, kissing Daryl's neck with focus.
Daryl's expression was slightly troubled.
For several nights, Cecilia insisted on making love, and while Daryl cooperated, he was noticeably quieter. He often looked at Cecilia with a complex expression.
Cecilia, on the other hand, was enthusiastic about preparing for pregnancy, taking folic acid daily and reading many books on the subject.
Daryl saw this and felt a mix of emotions, but he couldn't say anything, so he just treated her with even more tenderness.
Even Azalea was less critical of Cecilia these days, even suggesting she rest upstairs in the afternoons.
For several days, Cecilia was confident that this month would be the one.
One morning, about twenty days later, Azalea, reading the newspaper on the couch, suddenly asked, "Cecilia, has your period come this month?"
Cecilia, just coming out of the kitchen, blushed. "Not yet."
Azalea put down her newspaper and leaned forward. "How many days late?"
"Five or six days," Cecilia replied.
Cecilia had been wondering about it herself, thinking she was probably pregnant but didn't want to say anything until she was sure.
"Go to the pharmacy and get a pregnancy test!" Azalea urged.
"Okay," Cecilia said, turning to leave.
