Chapter 892 During the Day He's Your Boss, at Night He's Your Husband
The soft moonlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The night was deep and pitch-black, and the whole city was fast asleep.
In her nightgown, Susan stood by the master bedroom's window, taking in the night view of Maple Valley. Her heart felt incredibly calm.
Hayden and Spring were asleep, and Seb was in the shower. Susan felt a wave of satisfaction and happiness wash over her.
She was back in Maple Valley, her heart filled with a sense of peace. It was the place that held all her memories, and the people she loved and who loved her were here.
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped, and soon after, Seb walked out wearing a light yellow bathrobe.
Seeing Susan by the window, he walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind.
"How's the night view?" Seb whispered in her ear.
Susan leaned into him, nuzzling close, and said, "It's beautiful."
"As long as you like it," Seb said, kissing her neck.
"You've given me so many surprises today," Susan said with a smile.
"I forgot to mention an even bigger surprise," Seb said, raising an eyebrow.
Hearing this, Susan immediately turned to face him and asked, "What other surprise?"
Seb smiled but didn't rush to answer.
"Hurry up and tell me!" Susan urgently grabbed the collar of his bathrobe.
The next moment, Seb held Susan's shoulders and said, "You will be the secretary to the CEO of Prosperity Group."
Hearing this, Susan's eyes widened, and she was momentarily speechless.
Probably anticipating Susan's reaction, Seb said with amusement, "Is it really that surprising?"
"You want me to be your secretary? Are you kidding? I have no experience at all!" Susan couldn't help but say.
"You just needs to arrange my schedule and handle some communications. It's very easy. For the more technical tasks, I'll have a male secretary handle them. You don't need to worry," Seb said seriously.
Seb's words sparked Susan's ambition. She frowned and said, "Aren't you underestimating me? I may not have been a secretary to a CEO, but I've seen others do it. Give me a month to adapt, and I can definitely handle all the work."
Hearing this, Seb laughed and said, "I know you're capable. You could even be the Secretary-General of the United Nations."
"Don't talk nonsense!" Susan said impatiently.
Seb's smile deepened. "Do you know why I want you to be my secretary?"
Susan looked at Seb in confusion. His decision was so sudden that she wasn't prepared for it and didn't understand his intention.
The next moment, Susan smiled and teased, "Because Ellie isn't your secretary anymore, and you couldn't find a suitable replacement. You're afraid of being schemed against by another woman, so you want me to be your secretary, right?"
This time, Seb didn't joke around. He looked at Susan seriously and said, "Susan, if you become my secretary, we can work together. Whenever I want to see you, I just have to open the door."
Hearing this, Susan's smile faded, and she looked at Seb's handsome face, feeling deeply moved.
Seb's words really hit home.
Susan always thought only women had such detailed thoughts, wanting to be with their loved ones every moment. She figured men naturally yearned for freedom and wouldn't want to be watched all the time.
But here was Seb, expressing the same desire. Susan was touched and didn't know what to say.
She stepped forward, pressed her face against Seb's chest, and listened to his strong heartbeat. She said softly, "So you have these thoughts too."
Seb stroked Susan's smooth hair and said, "I want a male secretary to handle the tiring tasks. But if I go on inspections or attend events, I want you with me. I hope we can always be close."
Hearing this, Susan's eyes welled up.
She placed her hand on his chest and said softly, "I promise to be your secretary and stay by your side every moment."
"Tomorrow, we'll go to work together," Seb said, kissing Susan's forehead.
Susan immediately lifted her head from Seb's embrace, then jumped onto the bed and got under the covers, pulling the blanket up to her neck. She smiled at Seb and said, "We have to get up early tomorrow, so let's go to sleep!"
After saying that, Susan closed her eyes.
Seeing Susan's playful and cute demeanor, Seb smiled deeply, walked over, and stroked her smooth face. "Tonight is our wedding night. We can't waste this wonderful time, can we?"
Hearing this, Susan immediately pulled the blanket over her head and shouted, "I need to sleep. Tomorrow is my first day at work, and I need to be in good spirits!"
Seb lifted the blanket and got in, pressing down on Susan. "I'm your boss during the day and your husband at night. You have to listen to me."
"I'm your secretary during the day and your wife at night. I'll listen to you during the day, and you have to listen to me at night," Susan retorted.
But Seb's voice came next. "But right now, you listen to me!"
"Stop it!" Susan screamed.
The temperature in the room quickly rose, and their breathing became increasingly ragged.
The next morning, when Susan got up, she naturally felt groggy. She had gone to bed late because of Seb.
Walking into the bathroom, seeing Susan listlessly brushing her teeth, Seb smiled and said, "Why don't you go back to sleep and skip today?"
Hearing this, Susan immediately perked up and glared at Seb in the mirror. "No way. What if I don't go today and you change your mind and find someone else?"
Seb couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, go be my secretary."
"Of course!" Susan glanced at Seb and smiled.
