Chapter 723 Confession
Susan couldn't stay calm any longer. She wanted to know what Andrew had to say to her. Maybe what he told her could help Seb? Besides, she was very curious about what Andrew was up to.
With this mindset, Susan decided to meet him.
Wearing a black cashmere coat, Susan immediately spotted Andrew sitting by a window. He was dressed in a gray suit, looking spirited.
Susan could tell he seemed to be in a good mood. Naturally, he would be in a good mood after causing such a big mess and seeing it about to succeed, right?
Seeing Susan, Andrew waved at her nonchalantly.
Susan frowned and then walked over.
As soon as Susan sat down opposite Andrew, he smiled and said, "I thought you weren't coming."
As he spoke, he glanced at his wristwatch.
Susan knew she was fifteen minutes late, but she sneered, "I didn't want to come, but I couldn't resist seeing your despicable act through to the end."
Hearing this, Andrew said expressionlessly, "A woman who has changed her heart is ruthless. No matter how you treat her, she remains indifferent."
"You were the one who changed first. Do you think you were such a prize that I'd wait around for you all these years?" Susan said disdainfully.
"Susan, I didn't change my heart back then. I just wanted to make something of myself so that I could give you a better life in the future," Andrew said, frowning, as if explaining or confessing.
Hearing this, Susan couldn't help but laugh out loud. "That's the funniest joke I've ever heard. You're really good at distorting the truth, but unfortunately, I'm not Rylee. I'm not that stupid. Rylee treated you so well, and yet you still had no qualms about causing her death!"
"Susan, Rylee died in a car accident. No one wanted to see that happen. Watch your words!" Mentioning Rylee, Andrew's face changed, as if he had some reverence for the deceased. It wasn't reverence, though; it was probably guilt for his wrongdoing.
The next moment, Susan said, "Fine, let's not talk about Rylee. Let's talk about the landslide accident this morning. That was your doing, wasn't it?"
At this point, Andrew took a sip of his coffee, his face returning to calm. "You need evidence to make such claims. While I, Andrew, have some skills, I don't have the ability to cause a landslide. This is just Seb's bad luck. He can only blame himself for such misfortune!"
"His worst misfortune was meeting a despicable, inhumane person like you!" Susan glared at Andrew and cursed.
At this moment, Andrew didn't get angry. He placed a glass of soda water in front of Susan. "You're very angry. Coffee won't quench your thirst. Have some water."
Glancing at the glass of water in front of her, Susan suddenly stood up and said, "My time is precious. I don't have time to chat with you!"
"My time is also precious. I'm not here to chat. Sit down, and let's talk seriously, okay?" Andrew's expression became more serious.
"I have nothing to talk about with you." Susan picked up her bag and was about to leave.
Andrew said, "Now there's an opportunity. You can save Seb and Prosperity Group!"
Hearing this, Susan was stunned and then slowly sat down, frowning. "What do you mean by that?"
At this moment, Andrew looked deeply at Susan and said, "Susan, after all these years, I've realized that the only person I truly loved was you."
Hearing this, Susan felt very annoyed. "Don't even go there, Andrew. I don't have any feelings for you, not anymore."
Seeing Susan's cold demeanor, Andrew sneered, "Fine, let's not talk about feelings. Let's talk about a deal."
"What deal?" Susan frowned, puzzled, and stared at Andrew.
"I'll let Seb off the hook. Walk away from all of this. But in return, you marry me. We'll leave for Averlake after the wedding, start fresh."
Hearing this, Susan was stunned and then couldn't help but laugh.
Andrew, however, said seriously, "You know I inherited a large fortune from Rylee. Susan, if you stay with me, your life won't be worse than with Seb. Besides, because of Carol's will, he won't marry you again. But I can. I can marry you right away. I know you can't live without children. We're still young. Having two or three more kids is not a problem!"
"Even if all the men in the world were dead, I wouldn't be with you again because I'm afraid I wouldn't know when you'd plot against me. Andrew, this time it's about a dozen lives, a dozen broken families. Don't you feel any guilt? Their restless souls won't let you go!" Susan said angrily, staring at Andrew.
Andrew completely ignored Susan's words and continued, "Let me analyze the situation of Prosperity Group and Seb for you. This landslide accident will severely damage Prosperity Group's image, and the stock will hit the limit down for three consecutive days. As the CEO of Prosperity Group, Seb will inevitably lose his position. Losing the presidency isn't the worst part. I can tell you that the stock's limit down isn't just because of today's accident. I sold a large amount of Prosperity Group stock at a high price a few days ago. When the stock falls to its lowest point, Evergreen Ventures Group and I will buy it. By then, we will control Prosperity Group. Seb will only have a few shares left. Whether he sells them to us at a low price or keeps them for dividends, he will forever lose control of Prosperity Group!"
"You're despicable!" Susan said through gritted teeth.
Andrew then sneered, "If you agree to my terms, I can stop now and let Seb go. What do you think?"
At this moment, Susan's mind was in turmoil!
Prosperity Group's development over the years had been Seb's hard work. If he lost the company, she didn't know if he could handle it. After all, he had lost so much in recent years. Carol, Rylee, Todd, and Prosperity Group? Susan didn't dare to think about it.
Just as Susan was hesitating, she saw the smug look on Andrew's face and immediately understood something.
Then, Susan exposed Andrew's plot. "Andrew, I know exactly what kind of person you are. You even killed your own wife just to get ahead. Would you give up everything you've gained for me?"
