Chapter 299 Distort the Facts

Everyone was too freaked out to say a word. Fiona shot a look at the chaos on the floor and snapped, "This ain't a fight club, folks. If you wanna throw down, do it somewhere else!"

Right then, Elliott stepped up, pointing at the scratches on his face, whining, "Paula, check this out. Susan tried to flirt with me, and when I didn't bite, she clawed me up like this!"

"That's crap! You were the one trying to get handsy with me," Susan fired back.

Even though Susan knew Fiona wouldn't back her up, she had to set the record straight in front of everyone. No way was she letting Elliott spread lies.

"Get real. Why would I even look at you? My wife is a knockout, way out of your league. You think I'd mess around with you? You're nuts," Elliott shot back, his arguing game on point.

Fiona, fed up, raised her hand to shut them up. "Enough! Both of you, zip it!"

The room went dead quiet. No one dared to make a peep.

Fiona glared at Elliott and Susan, her voice dripping with disdain. "I don't give a damn who tried to seduce who. That's your problem. This is a workplace, and you gotta follow the rules and do your job. Any more troubles, and you're out. Got it?"

"Got it," Elliott nodded.

Susan, fuming, kept her mouth shut.

Fiona pointed at the mess on the floor. "Whoever made this mess, clean it up!"

With that, she turned and walked off.

Everyone scattered.

Elliott shot a look at Susan and started to leave.

Seeing this, Susan stepped in his way.

Fiona hadn't gone far, and his face twisted in frustration. "Susan, chill out. If you keep this up, we're both getting canned."

Susan could tell he was scared of losing his job.

So, she smirked. "Elliott, I'm still on probation, but you're a senior employee and Paula's right-hand man. Bet your pay and perks are pretty sweet, huh?"

"What are you getting at?" Elliott's face went pale.

Susan crossed her arms, a sly grin on her face. "I'm just saying, if we both get fired, who do you think loses more, you or me?"

Elliott was sweating bullets now. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. "What do you want?"

"Not much. Just stay out of my way, and I'll stay out of yours. But if you twist the story again, don't blame me for making your life hell at Pioneer Accounting Firm. I've been divorced and got two kids. My rep's already shot. But you? If you mess with me again, I'll go to Linda and then tell your pretty wife you're harassing me. Let's see how she deals with you!" Susan threatened.

Elliott was left speechless, glaring at her with pure rage.

Susan glanced at the mess on the floor and said, "You clean this up."

With that, she turned and walked off.

He was fuming. "We both made this mess. Why should I be the one to clean it up? We should split it."

Hearing this, Susan stopped and turned to sneer, "Clean it or don't, I don't care. Worst case, Paula fires me. Big whoop!"

With that, she turned and left.

He was so mad he could've stomped a hole in the floor, but he had no choice. He needed to keep his job at Pioneer Accounting Firm, so he grudgingly grabbed a broom and mop to clean up.

Susan headed straight to the restroom. She sat on the toilet, staring at the tiny cubicle, and tears started streaming down her face.

She remembered the judgmental looks from her female colleagues earlier. She felt so humiliated.

It seemed like those women had it out for her from day one, even though she hadn't done anything to them.

In any other company, if something like this went down, at least one or two female colleagues would come to comfort her. But here? Not only did no one comfort her, but they also seemed scared to even get close.

She wondered if this was just the company's vibe, where everyone kept to themselves, or if Elliott had been spreading nasty rumors about her.

Elliott was known for being a sleaze, and the female colleagues usually kept their distance from him. So, logically, they shouldn't believe his crap.

Since last time, Elliott had been saying she dated rich guys and would be with anyone for money. Where did he get this garbage?

Susan had never been so insulted by a man before. Elliott didn't hit or touch her, but he trashed her character.

The idea of her lifting her skirt to seduce Elliott was laughable. Elliott had no looks, no skills, and no charm. Why would she seduce him? The thought made her sick.

As Susan was feeling super down, she suddenly heard the click-clack of high heels outside.

Knowing someone was coming, she quickly wiped her tears with a tissue.

But the next words she heard made her freeze.

"Do you think what Elliott said about Susan lifting her skirt to seduce him is true?" Susan recognized the voice of one of her female colleagues from Group Six.

Another female colleague sneered. "Hmph, you can't believe a word from a scumbag like Elliott. He's harassed every female employee in the office, even the younger cleaning ladies. It's like he's never seen a woman before. But Paula said Susan isn't any better. She used to go after rich men."

"Yeah, Paula said Susan has seduced two bosses before. You wouldn't guess it from her serious demeanor and plain dress. How does she always manage to seduce the bosses?"

"You can't judge a woman by her looks or dress. It's about how seductive she is."

"Seductive?"

"Some women are seductive to the core, making men unable to resist."
