Chapter 615 Who Is the Father of the Child
Seb's eyes first glanced at George, then fell on Susan, and he sneered, "If I hadn't come, how would I have seen such a disgraceful scene between you two?"
Hearing this, Susan was stunned!
Then she turned to look at George, who was standing right by the bedside, and she finally understood that Seb must have seen George feeding her earlier.
Susan and George had always been innocent, but just now, her hands got burned, and after applying ointment, George insisted on feeding her. But it just so happened that Seb arrived in time to witness the scene.
Seeing that Susan was not in a hurry to explain, George frowned and said, "Seb, you misunderstood!"
"I did not misunderstand!" Seb was furious, his hair almost standing on end.
George knew Seb's temper; he wouldn't listen to any explanation.
So, the next moment, George said, "It's fine if you have a problem with me, but don't misunderstand Susan, she..."
"Shut up! George, you've tried to take Susan from me several times, haven't you given up yet?" Seb stepped forward and grabbed George by the collar.
Seeing Seb's eyes turn red, Susan knew he was really angry.
Susan was afraid Seb might actually hurt George and also feared a conflict, so she quickly got out of bed, not even bothering to put on her shoes, and rushed to pull Seb's arm. "Let go of George!"
But Susan's action only made Seb more hurt and angry. He flung Susan away. "I haven't even hit him yet, and you're already protecting him?"
Seb's strength was great, and Susan was weak at the moment, so she cried out and fell to the ground!
Seeing Susan on the ground, Seb frowned, as he hadn't intended to push her down.
George immediately pushed Seb away and hurried to help Susan up. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
"No." Susan shook her head, feeling breathless and weak.
George helped Susan sit on the bed, then turned and shouted at Seb, "Are you insane? Look at her! She's weak, vulnerable, and you throw her to the ground? Have you no decency?"
"Decency?" Seb spat back, his voice laced with bitterness. "How about you? Is it decent to seduce your cousin's wife?"
Although seeing Susan's weak appearance on the bed made him feel bad, jealousy and anger filled his heart, and he couldn't calm down.
"Don't forget, you two are already divorced. Susan is no longer your wife!" George glared at Seb.
Hearing this, Seb's eyes narrowed, and his cold gaze fell on George's face.
Then, he stepped closer to George.
As he got closer, Seb suddenly raised his fist, but George caught it.
For a moment, the two men were about to fight in the ward.
Seeing this, Susan couldn't let them have an irreparable conflict.
The next moment, Susan struggled to stand up, pointed at them, and shouted, "Both of you, stop it!"
Susan's shout seemed to fall on deaf ears for Seb and George.
Seeing this, Susan got anxious, her blood pressure rising, and she slumped onto the bed!
"Susan!" Seb and George both rushed to help her.
But Susan propped herself up and then looked at George. "George, you should go."
"But..." George was stunned that Susan would ask him to leave.
"The matter between Seb and me is something we need to resolve ourselves. It's not convenient for you to be here." Susan said firmly.
Hearing this, George had no choice but to say softly, "Take care of yourself. Call me if you need anything."
"I know." Susan nodded, not looking at George.
At this moment, Seb's gaze at George was filled with jealousy, hatred, and hostility.
George gave Seb a cold look before turning to leave.
After the door closed with moderate force, only Susan and Seb were left in the ward.
At this moment, Susan was half-lying on the bed, while Seb stood about six feet away.
Seb stood there, his eyes fixed on Susan.
She was wearing a blue and white striped hospital gown, her face pale, and she seemed even thinner. Seeing this, Seb's brows furrowed.
The next moment, Seb took two steps forward, wanting to touch Susan's pale face.
But Susan turned her face away, avoiding his touch.
Feeling her distance, Seb's eyes showed a moment of hurt.
"Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" Seb then looked out the window, asking sadly.
Hearing this, Susan felt bitter inside. She thought to herself, 'We're already divorced. Why should I tell you? To make you come back for the sake of the child?'
Even if they got back together, so what? He would always feel guilty towards Carol, and Rylee would never forgive him, making him live in self-blame. She didn't want that; she didn't want him to suffer so much.
Then, Susan asked back, "Do you think it was necessary to tell you?"
"You were carrying my child, and you asked if it was necessary to tell me?" Seb looked at Susan incredulously.
"Seb, I've already divorced you. The child... has nothing to do with you." Susan met his questioning gaze and said firmly.
Susan's words easily angered Seb. He pointed towards the door and shouted, "Nothing to do with me? Are you saying the child has something to do with George? Why did he know about your ectopic pregnancy? Why did he come to take care of you in the hospital? Could it be..."
Seb, in his agitation, felt a lump in his throat and couldn't continue.
"Could it be what? Why don't you finish?" Susan raised her chin and stared at him.
At this moment, she understood what he was suspecting. She didn't deny it and even led him on.
Susan felt very bitter inside, thinking, 'If he wants to misunderstand, let him misunderstand completely. Maybe then he'll finally let go, and this can finally be over. Otherwise, we'll be stuck in this endless cycle, hurting each other more and more.'
