Chapter 1080 Panic-Stricken

After that day, Cecilia deliberately avoided Daryl.

So, they could only see each other during breakfast.

During breakfast, Cecilia ate slowly because she really didn't want to choke while avoiding Daryl.

After that incident, Cecilia never looked up during breakfast because she didn't want to see those lecherous eyes.

Throughout breakfast, they basically had no interaction.

After finishing breakfast, Cecilia would leave immediately with her backpack without any delay.

That day, Cecilia left with her backpack as usual.

Unexpectedly, Daryl spoke up. "Cecilia!"

Hearing his call, Cecilia, who had already reached the dining room door, immediately turned around, only to find that Daryl had already walked up behind her.

In an instant, they collided head-on.

Naturally, Cecilia couldn't withstand Daryl, so she staggered backward.

Seeing this, Daryl, afraid she might fall, quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his arms.

Cecilia was pulled into his embrace, and in her nervousness, she looked up.

Unexpectedly, at that moment, Daryl lowered his head, and their lips met in mid-air.

Startled, Cecilia let out a small cry, completely at a loss.

Daryl, whose lips had touched hers, hesitated for a moment, then lowered his head and kiss the lips that were already so close to his.

At that moment, Cecilia was completely stunned.

His kiss was passionate and wild from the start, leaving Cecilia dazed.

She stood there, not knowing whether to struggle or respond, and her backpack slowly slipped to the floor.

She stared wide-eyed, seeing him close his eyes and kiss her passionately.

Then, she felt his strong arms tighten around her waist.

At that moment, the temperature in the dining room quickly rose, feeling like it was about to boil over.

After a moment of daze, Daryl's kiss became even more passionate, and his hands started to wander.

At this point, Cecilia finally came to her senses.

In the next moment, Cecilia used all her strength to push Daryl away.

Daryl staggered back, and seeing Cecilia's bewildered expression, he suddenly laughed.

Seeing his laugh, Cecilia became angry.

Cecilia wiped her reddened lips with her arm and angrily shouted, "What are you doing?"

As she shouted at him, Cecilia's hand somehow formed a fist.

She was a bit embarrassed and angry because she had been deeply involved in that kiss, and by the time she realized it, he had already had his fill.

Seeing Cecilia's embarrassed and angry look, Daryl replied with a deep smile, "Kissing you."

Hearing this, Cecilia was at a loss for words.

Glaring at Daryl, Cecilia bent down to pick up her backpack from the floor, then turned and ran away.

Watching Cecilia flee, Daryl smiled and touched his lips, as if savoring the moment.

Cecilia walked quickly down the street, her heart pounding. After a while, she realized she had taken the wrong path.

He had completely disrupted her calm state of mind.

She cursed in her head, 'Damn Daryl, he turns out to be quite the flirt, and I can't resist his advances at all. '

All the way, Cecilia kept reminding herself in her heart, 'From now on, stay away from him! Be extra careful in the future, no accidents!'

After school that day, Cecilia hurried to clean Daryl's room before he came back.

Cecilia always cleaned Daryl's room in the evening because she would definitely not run into him at home at that time.

Cecilia sorted the clothes delivered from the laundry and hung them neatly in the closet, then organized the items on the bedside table. Unexpectedly, she found a copy of "One Hundred Years of Solitude" on the bedside table.

Seeing the book, Cecilia frowned.

She was sure it wasn't the one Barry had lent her because that one was a hardcover edition and was still lying on her bed.

'Why is he interested in this book too?' With this question in mind, Cecilia picked up the book and opened it, only to be stunned.

Because there were annotations written in the book, in small, beautiful handwriting in the margins, making it hard to put down.

Cecilia flipped through the book and found that about a third of it had annotations, indicating that Daryl had spent quite some time reading it.

Cecilia, as a fan of "One Hundred Years of Solitude," couldn't help but sat on the bed and read the annotations.

To her surprise, the annotations were objective, detailed, and insightful, pointing out many things she hadn't noticed while reading, but upon reflection, they made perfect sense.

For a moment, Cecilia felt a sense of admiration for Daryl.

Previously, she only knew he was an excellent student pursuing a Ph.D. in civil engineering, but she hadn't realized he had such literary talent. It seemed she had underestimated him before.

As she read, Cecilia became engrossed, and by the time she realized the time, it was already past nine in the evening.

Suddenly, two beams of car headlights shone through the window, and Cecilia, alarmed, ran to the window with the book in her arms.

Looking down, she saw a black sedan parked in front of the villa.

In the darkness, Cecilia saw Douglas open the back door, and Daryl got out of the car.

In a panic, Cecilia ran out of the room with the book in her arms.

But when she reached the door, she realized she had forgotten to put the book back, so she hurriedly returned, placed the book in its original spot, turned off the light, and then rushed to her own room.

Just as Cecilia closed her door, she heard footsteps approaching.

She heard the footsteps pause for a moment, then they were gone.

Then she heard the sound of the door next door opening and closing.

Finally, Cecilia, clutching her chest, breathed a sigh of relief. 'That is close. I almost run into him in his bedroom. Who knows what would have happened then? Luckily, I AM quick-witted.'

As the night grew deeper, Cecilia's stomach grew hungrier.

But she didn't dare go out, fearing she might run into Daryl.

Cecilia had to take a shower first, then sit on her bed, flipping through "One Hundred Years of Solitude" while waiting for time to pass. She planned to go downstairs for some food at midnight when Daryl was asleep.
