Chapter 485 The Groom is Unhappy
Susan's grin ticked Seb off big time, and his grip on her waist got way tighter, making her wince.
"That hurts..." Susan muttered.
Seb leaned in close, his voice all rough, "You asked for it."
Seeing him barely holding it together, Susan started to get a bit freaked out.
Her eyes darted to the door, and she blurted out, "Who let you in?"
Seb's grip loosened as he glanced at the door too.
Seizing the moment, Susan shoved Seb, catching him off guard and almost sending him off the couch. She bolted for the door!
By the time Seb got what was happening, Susan was already a good five feet away.
He frowned but then smirked, stomping hard on the long hem of her dress.
Susan got yanked back, losing her balance and falling backward!
She screamed, bracing for a nasty fall, maybe even a concussion. But she knew she had it coming for messing with Seb.
Just as she braced for the impact, she felt something soft and warm catch her.
No pain, just a cozy embrace.
She knew he wouldn't let her hit the ground, so a relieved smile spread across her face.
Then his voice, all unique and teasing, came to her ear. "Enjoying yourself, huh?"
Susan chuckled, "Of course, I knew you wouldn't let me fall. If I get hurt, your kids would be motherless!"
With that, she opened her eyes to see his handsome, smiling face.
Seb was down on one knee, half of Susan in his arms, the other half on the floor.
"Running in that long dress? You're asking for it," Seb said, pretending to be stern.
"This dress is too long. I'm getting it chopped in half," Susan said, glaring at the trailing hem.
"No way!" Seb said, all bossy.
"Why not?" Susan shot back.
"The best part of this dress is the long hem. It keeps you from running fast and makes sure you never get out of my sight!" Seb said fiercely.
Sensing Seb was about to get his revenge, Susan quickly smiled, "It's getting late. How about we take our wedding photos now? Otherwise, we won't finish today."
"Did you forget? You said you wanted to test your charm," Seb said, his eyes dangerously intense.
Susan's heart raced, and she quickly said, "No need to test it. I can already feel your desire."
"That ain't enough. I gotta show you, so you'll believe it," Seb said, lowering his head to plant a kiss on Susan's neck.
Right then, Susan let out a loud shout.
Seb frowned at her outburst.
Next sec, the door flew open, and the makeup artist and assistant rushed in, all flustered. "What happened? Everything okay?"
Seeing them, Susan quickly said, "I just tripped!"
Given their position, it did look like the bride had taken a tumble.
The makeup artist and assistant freaked out and helped Susan up.
"Mrs. Anderson, are you alright? Do you need to go to the hospital?" they asked, all worried.
Susan adjusted her wedding dress and smiled. "I'm fine, just got a little spooked."
She glanced at Seb and saw his annoyed face.
She had tricked him again, and the thought made Susan feel pretty smug; she had won this round.
"That's a relief," the makeup artist and assistant said, wiping their brows. These two were clearly VIPs, and any screw-up would be a big deal.
"Can we start the photoshoot?" Susan asked quickly.
The assistant nodded right away. "Yes, the studio and photographer are ready. Please head over now."
"Okay," Susan nodded and smiled, taking Seb's arm.
Seb, still a bit ticked off, had no choice but to follow Susan to the studio.
The studio backdrop was gorgeous. Seb and Susan sat in front of it, and the photographer kept saying, "Mr. Anderson, smile, smile more!"
But Seb kept a stern face, leaving the photographer stumped.
The photographer, holding his camera, helplessly smiled at Seb. "Mr. Anderson, can you smile? Getting married is a happy occasion. Aren't you happy to marry such a beautiful bride?"
Seeing this, Susan apologized to the photographer, "Sorry, my husband didn't sleep well last night. Can we let him have some water and rest for a bit before continuing?"
"Sure," the photographer nodded kindly.
The assistant quickly brought a cup of coffee to Seb. "Mr. Anderson, have some coffee to perk up."
Seb still wore a stern face and didn't even glance at the assistant.
The assistant felt a bit awkward but kept smiling.
Susan quickly took the coffee from the assistant and said, "Thanks."
"You're welcome," the assistant smiled and left the studio.
For a moment, it was just Susan and Seb in the studio.
Susan shook her head with a smile and handed the coffee to Seb, teasing, "Mr. Anderson, have some coffee."
Seb glared at her but took the coffee and sipped it.
"Still mad?" Susan leaned her head on Seb's shoulder and asked softly.
Seb pouted. "I got played. How can I not be mad?"
