Chapter 1250 Picky

Daryl's comment left Azalea speechless, though she still wanted to say something.

Isaac jumped in, "Look, the decision's made, so it doesn't really matter when it happens. Let's just go with it."

Azalea was clearly unhappy, but there was nothing she could do. She had to accept it, though her expression darkened.

After dinner, Daryl didn't let Cecilia stay downstairs to chat with his parents. Instead, he took her upstairs to show her his room.

Cecilia understood Daryl's intention. He didn't want her to interact too much with Azalea, who was visibly upset. Even though Azalea had reluctantly agreed to their marriage, she was clearly not pleased.

Daryl led Cecilia to his bedroom on the second floor and spread his arms. "This is my room, and soon it'll be yours too."

Cecilia looked around. The bedroom was spacious, with a walk-in closet where Daryl's clothes were neatly hung. It was a nice room.

Thinking about living here with Daryl in the future, Cecilia smiled, feeling a wave of happiness.

Even though Azalea didn't like her now, Cecilia loved Daryl, and he loved her. She figured she'd be busy with work and wouldn't have to deal with Azalea much. Plus, she was determined to build a good relationship with her. Cecilia remained optimistic; nothing could come between her and Daryl.

Seeing Cecilia taking in the room, Daryl came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her neck. "If we're getting married next month, there's no time to renovate. How about we just get some new furniture?"

"I think the furniture is fine. It'd be wasteful to replace it," Cecilia replied with a smile.

Daryl glanced at the blue and black bed and whispered in her ear, "The bed's too dark and a bit small. Not ideal for... rolling around. We should get a bigger one."

Cecilia playfully slapped his hand, but she couldn't hide her smile.

Daryl grinned and pointed to a corner. "Tomorrow, let's pick out a vanity for you. You love looking good, and we should add a wall of closets in the walk-in. I'll keep my clothes in a small closet over here, and the rest will be for your clothes, bags, and shoes."

Cecilia appreciated his thoughtfulness. "The curtains are a bit dark too. Let's get brighter ones and add some plants. And over here..."

They spent some time planning the room together, discussing what to add and change.

After they finished, Daryl took Cecilia's shoulders and looked at her seriously. "Cecilia, we'll be living here together forever. I promise to love you and never let you feel wronged."

"I know," Cecilia said, tears welling up in her eyes.

"As for my mom, like Elijah said, she's tough on the outside but soft inside. Please be patient with her. I'll always protect you," Daryl assured her.

Cecilia nodded. "I'll treat her like my own mother. I'm sure she'll come around if I keep trying."

"You'll have to start calling her 'Mom' soon," Daryl teased.

Cecilia blushed. "After the wedding."

"It's just a matter of time," Daryl said with a smile.

Cecilia then asked, "Have you been skipping work at Fields Corporation to pressure them into agreeing to our marriage?"

Daryl smirked. "With just Elijah and me, and Elijah refusing to work at the company, my parents had no choice."

"Don't do that again. I don't want your parents to resent me," Cecilia said, lightly hitting his shoulder.

"Do you think there's anything or anyone else worth giving up Fields Corporation and the Fields family for?" Daryl asked, looking into her eyes.

Cecilia smiled. Daryl's actions to secure their future touched her deeply.

Daryl then kissed her cheek, lips, and neck. The kiss quickly grew more passionate.

He pushed her onto the bed, kissing her fervently.

Cecilia glanced at the bed, thinking it was big enough for both of them. But she didn't mind getting a new one to mark their new beginning.

When Daryl was breathless in her ear, Cecilia gently pushed him away. "Not now," she said softly.

"Why?" Daryl asked, looking down at her.

"It's late. I need to go home, or your parents will talk," Cecilia said, getting up and smoothing her shirt.

"I'll take you," Daryl insisted.

"No, you have work tomorrow. Let the driver take me," Cecilia said.

But Daryl was firm. "I won't sleep until I know you're home safe."

Cecilia smiled and took his hand. Daryl led her downstairs.

Isaac and Azalea were still watching TV in the living room.

"Dad, Mom, I'm taking Cecilia home," Daryl said.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fields, goodnight," Cecilia said politely.

"Be careful," Isaac said.

Azalea, however, remarked, "The driver can take her. It's already ten, and you have work tomorrow."

Cecilia bit her lip, knowing it wasn't her place to speak.

Daryl replied, "Mom, it's late. I want to make sure Cecilia gets home safely. I'll be back soon."

Without waiting for a response, Daryl led Cecilia out of the house.

Azalea watched them leave, frowning.

"Since we've agreed to their marriage, let's not interfere too much," Isaac said, trying to calm her.
