Chapter 92 Pretending

Seb's kiss felt punishing, leaving Susan in pain and gasping for air.

Annoyed but unable to resist, she eventually just let him kiss her until she was nearly out of breath.

Then, voices came from outside.

"Mr. Anderson, you're back?" Zoe greeted.

"Zoe, is Mr. Seb Anderson inside?" George asked.

"Yes, Miss Wilson is with him," Zoe replied.

Hearing this, Susan panicked. She didn't want anyone to see her with Seb, especially at work.

Seb, however, didn't let go right away and kept kissing her for a few more seconds before releasing her wrists.

As soon as she was free, Susan pushed him away.

Just then, the office door opened!

George walked in with a briefcase, looking surprised to see them.

He scanned the room, and Susan quickly said, "Mr. Seb Anderson was getting impatient. He has a meeting soon and asked me to call you."

George bought it since Seb was always busy with meetings and events.

Susan glanced at Seb, who was staring at her with narrowed eyes, making her look away quickly.

"Traffic was awful today, even though it's not rush hour," George said with a smile.

"Perfect timing, I'd say," Seb chimed in.

"What do you mean?" George asked, puzzled.

Susan shot Seb a glare when George wasn't looking. If George weren't here, she would've slapped Seb.

"Ask your finance manager," Seb said, looking at Susan.

Curious, George turned to her.

"Mr. Seb Anderson said our coffee tastes authentic. If it weren't for the traffic jam, he wouldn't have had the time to enjoy it," Susan said, forcing a smile.

"He's a busy man, rarely has time to sit and enjoy coffee," George agreed.

Susan felt guilty for deceiving George.

Seb kept staring at her with a half-smile. She knew she had to leave before he said something else.

"I'll be going now," Susan said and quickly left the office.

Outside, she touched her lips, feeling them burn.

"Miss Wilson, impressive you spent 15 minutes alone with Mr. Seb Anderson from Prosperity Group," Zoe whispered with a laugh.

"What do you mean?" Susan asked, feeling guilty.

Did Zoe hear what happened? Susan's face turned even flushed. If so, she wouldn't be able to face anyone at the firm.

"Mr. Seb Anderson is handsome but so cold. Just being near him gives me chills. I get scared when I see him!" Zoe whispered to Susan.

Susan sighed in relief and shrugged, pretending, "I'm scared too, but I can't refuse his requests."

"Yeah, he's a big client now. We can't afford to offend him," Zoe said.

"Client?" Susan asked, confused.

Seeing her clueless expression, Zoe explained, "You don't know? We've secured the legal representation for Prosperity Group. We're finalizing the details and should sign the contract soon."

Susan felt distressed. How could it be such a coincidence? With Prosperity Group as a client, Seb would be around often. She'd have to avoid him as much as possible.

"Oh, I see," Susan nodded with a smile and quickly ran back to her office.

Closing the door, she took out a makeup mirror and saw her face was blushed, and her lips were swollen.

Annoyed, she slammed the mirror on the desk, touched her sore lips, and her heart was still pounding.

It wasbeen over six months, and that damn Sebwasback. Would she ever get rid of him?

Meanwhile, George sat at his desk, placing a thick stack of documents on it. "You could've sent someone to pick up the contract. Why come in person today?"

Seb, sitting across from him, said, "I was just passing by, so I thought I'd stop in."

George suddenly noticed Seb's mouth and, excited as if discovering a new continent, teased, "Did you just have a date with a woman?"

"What do you mean?" Seb frowned, not catching on.

George smiled and pushed a pack of tissues toward Seb, pointing to his mouth.

Seb immediately understood, touched his lips, and saw a bit of lipstick on his fingers.

He quickly grabbed a tissue and wiped his mouth repeatedly. Seeing the red marks, he smirked and put the tissue in his pocket.

Seb's reaction made George curious. Leaning back in his chair, he teased, "You're in a good mood today. Who did you just have a date with, Cynthia, or do you have a new target?"

Seb's expression suddenly became unnatural. He stood up abruptly and said, "I have something to do, so I'll be going."

He picked up the stack of contracts and walked out.

"If you have a meeting, then go ahead," George said, standing up to see him off.

Hearing this, Seb smirked. Just as he reached the door, he suddenly turned and said, "Is your finance manager new? I haven't seen her before."

"She's been here for over six months. How often do you come here? I have dozens of employees. How could you know them all?" George said, then noticed Seb's interest and asked, "Are you interested in her? But it's too late. She's already married!"

"What did you say?" Seb asked in surprise.
