Chapter 1357 Warm Up

The doctor removed his mask and said, "Your wife is suffering from exhaustion and possibly malnutrition, which led to her hypoglycemia and dizziness. This is quite dangerous. She needs to stay in the hospital for a couple of days for IV treatment and observation. If everything looks good, she can go home and rest."

"Thanks, doc." Leon finally breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

Isabella felt weak all over, her limbs felt like they weren't hers. She struggled to open her eyes and saw a white ceiling, furrowing her brows.

"You're awake?" A familiar voice sounded in her ear.

Isabella looked up and saw a handsome face with a smile standing by her hospital bed.

Seeing Leon, Isabella frowned. "Am I in the hospital?"

"You fainted earlier. The doctor said you have hypoglycemia from not eating properly. Have you not been eating these past few days?" Leon's tone was reproachful, but his eyes couldn't hide his concern.

Isabella frowned but didn't respond. Suddenly, she remembered something and grabbed Leon's arm urgently. "How's our younger son? Is he okay?"

"Don't worry, he's fine. He's at home playing with our older son." Leon glanced at Isabella's hand on his arm and then answered.

Isabella finally relaxed and quickly withdrew her hand. "Good, that's good."

For a moment, Leon and Isabella were silent, as if they had a lot to say but didn't know where to start.

Leon then picked up a thermos from the table, opened it, and poured a steaming bowl of chicken soup. He handed it to Isabella. "Susan came to see you earlier and brought you some chicken soup. Drink it while it's hot."

Isabella's stomach growled as Leon mentioned food.

She took the bowl from Leon and sipped the soup. "It's really good. Susan always knows how to take care of me, especially when I haven't been eating well."

Leon frowned slightly and looked at Isabella closely, noticing she had indeed lost some weight.

Isabella finished the bowl of chicken soup and a chicken leg, then handed the empty bowl back to Leon. "Thanks for taking care of me. I'm fine now, and you can go."

Leon didn't respond but took the empty bowl to the bathroom to wash it.

Hearing the sound of dishes being washed, Isabella pouted. She thought to herself, 'Leon, you could at least say something nice to comfort me!'

Leon soon finished washing the bowl and came back out.

Isabella started to get out of bed.

Seeing this, Leon frowned. "Where are you going?"

"I'm leaving the hospital," Isabella replied.

Leon stepped forward and grabbed her wrist. "No, the doctor said you need to stay for observation for two days."

Isabella frowned. "I just fainted because I didn't eat properly. I'm fine!"

"I said you can't leave. Get back in bed," Leon said, his face darkening.

Sensing Leon's stern attitude, Isabella got angry. "Who are you to tell me what to do?"

"I'm your husband!" Leon said firmly.

"Didn't you say you wanted a divorce?" Isabella raised her chin and stared at Leon.

Leon was momentarily speechless, then said, "That was just me talking out of anger."

"Can you just say things like that?" Isabella questioned.

"Hey, wasn't it you who brought up divorce first?" Leon suddenly remembered.

Isabella was taken aback. "How could I have said that first? It was definitely you."

"Why would I say that? It was clearly you!" Leon insisted.

As they were arguing, the door to the hospital room opened.

Susan walked in with another thermos, seeing Leon and Isabella arguing. She frowned.

"Leon, Isabella is sick, and you're arguing with her?" Susan scolded Leon first.

Leon didn't say anything, just put his hands in his pockets.

Feeling protected by Susan, Isabella shot Leon a dissatisfied look.

But then Susan turned to Isabella. "Look at you, sick and still so temperamental. I think you're just fine!"

Isabella frowned at Susan's criticism, then glanced at the thermos in Susan's hand. "What did you bring?"

"I made you some soup to help you recover. Drink it up!" Susan said, placing the thermos on the table and pouring a bowl of soup for Isabella.

"You just brought me chicken soup. Why did you make rib soup now?" Isabella asked.

"What chicken soup? I only made rib soup. If you want chicken soup, I'll bring it next time," Susan replied.

Isabella glanced at Leon suspiciously.

Leon lowered his head and said, "You two talk. I'll step out for a bit."

With that, Leon left the room.

Watching Leon's back as he left, Isabella smiled.

It was evident that the chicken soup earlier wasn't from Susan. It must have been sent by the housekeeper on Leon's orders. He had lied about it being from Susan. Isabella's heart warmed.

He still cared about her. She could see it in his eyes earlier. He just wasn't spoiling her like he used to and was more critical now.

Susan handed her a bowl of steaming rib soup. "Try my cooking."

"Sure." Isabella took the bowl and sipped the soup. "Not bad, you've improved."

"Then drink it all," Susan said with a smile.

"I can't," Isabella frowned.

"Why not?" Susan asked, frowning.

"I just had a big bowl of chicken soup and a chicken leg. I can only drink half of this," Isabella said, then drank half the bowl and handed it back to Susan, looking apologetic.

"You just had chicken soup? Leon must have had it sent," Susan said with a smile.

Isabella blushed. "I don't know, maybe."

"Come on, who else would care about you? So stop arguing with him. He really cares about you," Susan said, taking the opportunity to speak up for Leon.
