Chapter 1335 Frightened
"Don't think just 'cause you're the older brother, I'll let you go nuts!" Elijah yelled, landing a punch on Daryl's face.
"Elijah, I've been waiting to teach you a lesson for a long time. Today, I'm gonna knock your teeth out!" Daryl, furious from being hit by his younger brother, shrugged off his suit jacket and charged at Elijah, trading punches.
"The outcome of who will emerge victorious remains uncertain!" Elijah shot back, matching Daryl blow for blow.
Seeing her two sons brawling, Azalea frowned deeply and rushed forward to break them up. "Stop it, both of you! Stop fighting!"
But the brothers, on the brink of rage, ignored her pleas.
Cecilia, standing nearby, was frantic but couldn't get close due to the flurry of punches. "Stop it, you two! Stop fighting!" she cried out.
The servants arrived at the commotion but hesitated to intervene.
In a fit of anger, Azalea turned and slapped Cecilia hard across the face.
The sharp sound echoed through the room.
Cecilia clutched her cheek, staring in shock at the furious Azalea.
"You bitch! Ever since you came back, nothing but trouble! You've turned my sons against each other. You're a curse!" Azalea screamed, pointing a finger at Cecilia.
Cecilia felt a pang of guilt, not for herself, but for dragging Elijah into this mess, causing a rift between him and Daryl and tarnishing his reputation.
Tears streaming down her face, Cecilia shouted, "Do you think I wanted to come back? If Daryl hadn't brought my son here, I would never have set foot in this place again!"
She lunged forward to take Thaddeus from Finn.
Finn held Thaddeus tightly, and Azalea, in a panic, grabbed Cecilia, trying to pull her away.
"Give me my child!" Cecilia screamed.
"Thaddeus is a Fields, no matter which of my sons fathered him. I will never let you take him!" Azalea, despite her age, fought fiercely for her grandson.
Cecilia, driven by maternal instinct, used all her strength to fight back. The two women struggled, neither willing to give an inch.
"Give me my child! You're a mother too, don't you have any humanity?" Cecilia cried, trying to break free and reach Thaddeus.
"Humanity? You have none! You were involved with both my sons!" Azalea spat back.
"That's a lie! Elijah and I are innocent! Don't tarnish Thaddeus's name!" Cecilia's voice was sharp with desperation.
The living room was in chaos, with Daryl and Elijah fighting and Azalea and Cecilia grappling.
The situation was out of control.
Thaddeus, in Finn's arms, began to wail loudly, terrified by the scene.
Hearing her son's cries, Cecilia panicked. Seeing Thaddeus's trembling hands, she shoved Azalea aside and snatched Thaddeus from Finn's arms.
Finn tried to intervene, but Cecilia, holding Thaddeus tightly, screamed, "Stay back! All of you, stop fighting! Thaddeus is scared out of his mind! Do you hear me?"
Cecilia's desperate cry made Daryl and Elijah halt their fight, and Azalea stopped trying to take Thaddeus.
Everyone fell silent, the only sound Thaddeus's heart-wrenching sobs.
Thaddeus's face was streaked with tears, his eyes wide with fear, crying uncontrollably.
Everyone in the room watched Thaddeus anxiously, worried he might be traumatized.
"Thaddeus, it's okay, don't cry," Elijah, his face bruised, tried to soothe him.
"Thaddeus, don't be scared, it's alright," Azalea said, approaching cautiously, afraid to touch him.
Cecilia, holding Thaddeus close, gently rubbed his back, whispering comfort.
Daryl stood there, his eyes fixed on Thaddeus, his brow furrowed.
Despite their efforts, Thaddeus continued to cry.
Azalea, flustered, asked, "Why won't he stop crying? Should we call a doctor?"
"He's just scared. A doctor won't help," Finn replied.
"Then what do we do?" Azalea was frantic.
Freya stepped forward and suggested, "Mrs. Cecilia Fields, maybe you should nurse him?"
Cecilia nodded quickly. "Alright."
Without hesitation, she lifted her shirt.
Elijah turned away, giving her privacy.
As soon as Thaddeus began nursing, he calmed down, his little hands relaxing.
The room fell silent, everyone breathing a sigh of relief.
Thaddeus, still with tear-streaked cheeks, nursed quietly, looking pitiful and endearing.
Cecilia, tears streaming down her face, looked at her son with deep sorrow.
She raised her head, her eyes sweeping over Azalea, Finn, and Daryl, her voice choked with emotion. "Please, I beg you, stop tormenting Thaddeus. He's just a baby, still nursing. He doesn't understand any of this. He needs his mother. If you keep this up, you'll traumatize him. If his mind is affected, you'll regret it!"
Her words echoed in the room, filling everyone with concern and fear.
Daryl and Azalea were silent, their expressions showing they cared for Thaddeus. Daryl was more reserved, but Azalea's concern was evident.
Seeing their reactions, Cecilia felt a glimmer of hope. As long as they cared for Thaddeus, things wouldn't be too bad.
Elijah spoke up, "Mom, Daryl, Cecilia is right. No matter our differences, Thaddeus is innocent. He's the future of the Fields family, our only third-generation member. We need to think of him. If he's traumatized, it could be hard to recover."
