Chapter 636 What Do You Want
At this moment, Susan and George's eyes met in the air. Although neither of them spoke, their eye contact was enough; they both understood each other's intentions.
The next moment, George turned to Maria and said, "Take it. It was meant for my wife."
"Okay." Hearing this, Maria smiled and nodded.
At this time, the voice of the emcee came from the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the wedding of George and Maria is now beginning!"
Hearing the emcee's voice, Maria quickly took George's arm and said, "The wedding is starting, let's hurry over!"
George's expression was a bit wooden. He glanced at Susan, then turned and walked towards the stage with Maria.
Susan looked at their well-matched backs, then turned and walked over to Isabella.
"Did you return that set of jewelry?" Isabella looked up at Susan and asked.
"Yes, now I finally feel relieved." Susan shrugged and smiled.
"You're such a fool. If a man gave me such a set of jewelry, I'd be overjoyed. I wouldn't return it, and even if he came to ask for it back, I wouldn't give it!" Isabella laughed.
Susan shook her head with a smile, then bent down and whispered in Isabella's ear, "Remember, this time you must show weakness, understand?"
Hearing this, Isabella pouted and said, "I think it's better to forget it. Didn't you hear what Leon just said? He's only taking care of me because you asked him to."
Susan patted Isabella's shoulder, then looked up and found Leon's figure not far away. "He's just stubborn with his words. He actually cares about you. Look, he brought you all the good food and drinks, and I just saw him glancing at you from time to time."
"You always know how to make me happy." Susan's words immediately gave Isabella a bit of confidence.
Then, Susan said, "Alright, I can't stay here too long. I have to go."
As soon as Susan finished speaking and turned to leave, she looked up at the entrance and saw a woman in a black suit walking in quickly.
Seeing Jessica, Susan couldn't help but frown.
For the past two years, Jessica had been very close to George, and it was suspected that they were dating. But now George was suddenly marrying Maria. Jessica had been deeply in love with George all these years, so she must be unwilling to accept this.
Susan watched as Jessica walked straight to George, sensing that something was wrong. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that Jessica was dressed like a black crow today, with black clothes and black shoes, as if she were attending a funeral.
Sure enough, Jessica walked straight to the stage.
Standing on the stage, George saw Jessica and frowned. "Jessica, why are you here?"
"What? Are you afraid of me coming?" Jessica's words were directed at George, but her eyes were fixed on Maria beside him, as cold as frost.
George knew Jessica was not here with good intentions, so he said, "Jessica, if you're here to attend our wedding, you're very welcome. If not, then please leave!"
George's attitude further angered Jessica. She pointed at Maria and said, "George, she's just a small accountant at the firm. Are you out of your mind? What good does marrying her do for you? Others I can't speak for, but surely I'm better than this small accountant, right? Over the years, you know better than anyone how I've treated you. Why did you suddenly abandon me to marry this woman?"
Jessica's words made Maria's face flushed. George then put his arm around Maria's shoulder and firmly said to Jessica, "Jessica, Maria is now my wife. Please speak with respect. It's long over between us. Who I marry is my own business, and you have no right to interfere. Our wedding ceremony is about to start, so please leave immediately, or I'll call security!"
At this point, Jessica was furious. She reached out and knocked over the giant stack of glasses on the stage!
In an instant, countless glasses collapsed, falling onto the stage, and the sound of breaking glass echoed throughout the banquet hall.
For a moment, all eyes were on the stage, accompanied by whispers from the guests.
Jessica's actions immediately angered George, who quickly called for security. Jessica was practically carried out by two security guards.
Of course, Jessica no longer cared about her image, cursing George for abandoning her and cursing that he and Maria would soon divorce.
Seeing this, Susan felt very uncomfortable.
Jessica was considered an upper-class person, and she was very smart and straightforward. But she had fallen in love with someone who didn't love her, so today she was heartbroken and had thrown all her dignity away.
After Jessica was expelled from the banquet hall, order was quickly restored.
The staff were cleaning up the stage, and the guests were chatting and laughing in small groups.
At this time, Isabella said to Susan, "It's not a good sign for someone to cause trouble before the ceremony even starts."
Hearing this, Susan turned to look at Isabella. Although she didn't want to admit it, she couldn't deny that she felt the same way.
Seeing Susan frown, Isabella quickly raised her hands and said, "I'm just saying, don't take it seriously. I know you care most about George's happiness after the wedding."
Susan couldn't help but say, "We'll talk at home. I have to go."
"Go ahead." Isabella waved at Susan.
Then, Susan turned and walked towards the exit of the banquet hall.
Just as she reached the exit, a figure in an orange dress blocked her way!
Susan looked up and saw the stylish and beautiful Rylee.
Susan knew that Rylee had hated her ever since Carol's death, and she didn't want to have any conflict with her on such an occasion.
So, Susan turned to walk around Rylee and leave.
But Rylee wouldn't let her go and even stepped forward to push Susan!
"What do you think you're doing?" Susan demanded, steadying herself.
"I should be asking you that!" Rylee shot back, her voice dripping with venom. "You're everywhere I go! Let me make this crystal clear: stay out of the Andersons' business. Or I swear, every time I see you, you'll regret it."
