Chapter 1312 Beast

When Cecilia reached the highest point of the island, she was blown away by the view.

The island was about a square mile in size, cloaked in darkness under the moonlight, probably because of the thick greenery. At the highest point stood a cluster of classical Luminara buildings. From there, you could see the endless, shimmering sea.

Cecilia couldn't help but marvel at the fairy-tale-like setting. She thought to herself that this must be the perk of being rich. She guessed that the island was probably owned by Fields Corporation, maybe for tourism development.

Suddenly, the lights in the surrounding buildings flicked on, lighting up the area.

A group of about ten people quickly approached, bowing collectively to Daryl and saying, "Mr. Fields!"

Cecilia had never seen anything like this and was immediately stunned.

Daryl, however, responded coolly, "Get back to work."

"Get it," they replied, nodding quickly.

The next moment, Daryl grabbed Cecilia and led her into a nearby wooden building.

"Where are we? Why did you bring me here?" Cecilia asked repeatedly as they walked.

But Daryl didn't answer, pulling her straight to a room on the second floor.

Daryl pushed Cecilia into the room and then locked the antique-style doors.

Cecilia looked around the room, which was exquisitely decorated with antique furniture. The redwood pieces were clearly valuable, and the bed was also antique, making Cecilia feel like she had traveled back in time.

Daryl's eyes, filled with a dark intensity, turned to Cecilia.

Meeting his gaze, Cecilia instinctively took a step back, feeling uneasy and scared.

The next moment, Daryl shrugged off his coat and threw it to the ground.

Seeing this, Cecilia asked in a trembling voice, "What are you going to do?"

"What do you think I'm going to do?" Daryl said, stepping closer to her.

Cecilia's instincts told her that Daryl was furious, and his eyes were fierce. She mustered the courage to say, "Daryl, don't do anything rash!"

In the next moment, Daryl grabbed her wrist and pushed her to the edge of the bed, his eyes filled with anger and jealousy. "Tell me, when did you and Elijah start? How far have you gone? Did he kiss you? Did he...?"

"Enough!" Cecilia couldn't take it anymore and shouted at Daryl.

Seeing Cecilia's embarrassed and angry face, Daryl sneered, "How dare you tell me to stop talking, but why did you do such a disgusting thing? I don't understand, what do you see in Elijah? What does he have that I don't?"

Cecilia turned her face away, refusing to answer him.

But Daryl grabbed her chin, causing her pain. "Speak! Are you mute? Why did you do it? Tell me!" He shook her shoulders violently, desperate for an answer.

The shaking made Cecilia dizzy and nauseous, but she couldn't fight off the nearly crazed Daryl and had to endure it.

Daryl interpreted Cecilia's silence as guilt, which only made him angrier.

He then grabbed her by the throat, demanding, "Do you think staying silent will work? I'm your husband, so you owe me an explanation!"

Facing the crazed Daryl, Cecilia was scared but knew she couldn't avoid this ordeal. She finally said, "Haven't I already told you? Do whatever you want. If you think I'm a disgrace, you can divorce me right now!"

Hearing the word "divorce," Daryl became even more enraged, tightening his grip and snarling, "You want to leave me? I told you, don't even think about it!"

Cecilia coughed, struggling to breathe as she felt herself suffocating.

Just when Cecilia thought Daryl would strangle her to death, he let go.

Cecilia clutched her chest, coughing violently, her face pale.

At that moment, Daryl began unbuttoning his shirt.

Cecilia looked up, seeing the desire in Daryl's eyes, and asked in a trembling voice, "What are you going to do?"

Daryl threw his shirt aside, his eyes dark and menacing. "You're my wife. It's not too much to ask you to fulfill your duties, is it?"

"Don't do this, please," Cecilia pleaded, backing away in fear.

But Daryl lunged at her.

In her panic, Cecilia pulled down the curtains, but they couldn't stop the ferocious Daryl.

An hour later, the room was filled with Cecilia's heart-wrenching sobs.

She lay on the bed, her face buried in the pillow, tears soaking it.

Meanwhile, Daryl stood in the corridor outside, a cigarette between his fingers, pacing back and forth until late into the night.

The next morning, Cecilia was awakened by the chirping of birds outside the window.

She opened her bleary eyes, seeing the sunlight streaming into the room. She slowly got up, feeling her whole body burning with pain.

Her sweater dress from the previous day lay in tatters on the floor, completely unwearable.

Cecilia wrapped herself in a bedsheet and stumbled out of bed.

Sitting at the vanity, she looked at her reflection in the mirror, frowning.

Her body was covered in bruises, all marks left by him from the night before.

Cecilia had never known he could be so ruthless, almost devouring her, leaving no bone unbroken.

No matter how she struggled, it was useless. The more she resisted, the more aggressive he became. Cecilia nearly passed out from the pain before he finally let go.

Her eyes were swollen, her face haggard, and her hair a mess. Cecilia hugged herself, feeling utterly wretched.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Cecilia knew it couldn't be Daryl, as he would never knock.
