Chapter 155 Did You Ever Love Me?

"Who are you? The day I run this place, you're out of Prosperity Group!" Cynthia yelled at Isabella, clearly not liking her.

"Seb must be blind to pick someone like you. I don't want to serve you, and I don't care!" Isabella shot back, pointing at Cynthia.

"Kathy, get these two out of here!" Cynthia screamed, losing her patience.

Kathy felt awkward but didn't dare to disobey. She walked over and said, "Ms. Wilson, Miss Brown, please leave."

Seeing Kathy's discomfort, Susan, with tears in her eyes, shouted, "Seb, if you're a man, come out here!"

The bedroom door opened.

Seb, tall and dressed in black trousers and a white shirt, walked out.

The room fell silent.

Teary-eyed, Susan watched Seb approach, her eyes locked on his expressionless face.

Their eyes met, filled with too many emotions. Susan's gaze was full of questions and accusations, while Seb's eyes were complex, offering no answers.

After a long stare, Cynthia stepped forward, linked her arm through Seb's, and said, "Seb, tell her we're getting married and ask her to stop bothering you!"

Seb frowned but stayed silent, making Cynthia anxious.

Susan glanced at Cynthia holding his arm, and Seb didn't pull away, as if it was natural.

"Seb, no matter what, you owe me an explanation!" Susan's tearful eyes were fixed on him.

Cynthia's grip tightened. Seb looked at her hand on his arm, then slowly raised his eyes to meet Susan's.

After a long pause, Seb finally said, "Susan, I'm sorry."

These words hit Susan like a ton of bricks, causing her to step back until she hit the wall.

Seeing Susan's pain, Isabella stepped forward and accused Seb, "Seb, Just an apology? If you didn't want to marry Susan, why lead her on? Do you know how disgusting that is? You're a scumbag!"

"Isabella, insult my man again, and I won't be polite!" Cynthia warned, pointing at her.

"Your man? He's probably many women's man. You can keep this douchebag!" Isabella snapped.

Susan seemed oblivious to the argument. Her eyes met Seb's, still unwilling to give up, and she slowly asked, "Are you really going to marry her?"

"Yes." Seb nodded, but he frowned, his eyes fixed on her.

"Did you ever love me?" Susan pressed.

She needed to know, to avoid future regrets.

Seb's brows furrowed as he looked at Susan with pained eyes, unable to respond.

Susan's eyes stayed locked on him, waiting for his answer.

Cynthia suddenly smiled at Seb and said, "Seb, we'll be happy with Hayden. Tell Susan you never loved her!"

Susan ignored Cynthia, still waiting for Seb's response.

"They're talking, why are you butting in?" Isabella shouted at Cynthia.

"I think you're the one who shouldn't be butting in!" Cynthia shot back.

Isabella was about to say more, but Seb, who had been silent, finally spoke.

"Susan, I made the mistake all men make. I'm sorry," Seb said, looking at her.

"What do you mean?" Susan asked, staring at him.

Seb's eyes turned cold. He looked at Cynthia and said, "I was just infatuated with you, but the one I love most is Cynthia. So I can't marry you. The only person I'll marry is Cynthia. Don't bother me again, and I won't see you anymore."

Susan's legs went weak, and she almost collapsed. Isabella stepped forward to support her.

Holding Susan, Isabella couldn't hold back and pointed at Seb and Cynthia, cursing, "Seb, are you even human? How can you say that? This is called using someone and then dumping them. You rich guys are all the same! And you, keeping this douchebag, you really pick up any trash."

Seb didn't respond, his eyes still on Susan.

But Cynthia wasn't so polite. She angrily pointed at Isabella and Susan and said, "Leave, you're not welcome here!"

Susan felt heartbroken, a sharp pain in her chest. She looked up at Seb, choking back tears, and said, "Since you've decided, I wish you a long and happy life together. Take this back, and let's pretend we never knew each other!"

She took off the ring on her left finger and threw it at Seb, then turned and left in tears.

Isabella glared fiercely at Seb and Cynthia before chasing after Susan.

Susan ran out of the upscale neighborhood, then squatted down and cried uncontrollably.

Isabella, panting, caught up and, seeing Susan's distress, stomped her foot and said, "Seb is heartless; he'll get what's coming to him! And Cynthia, someone will replace her soon enough!"

Susan felt hollowed out. She hugged Isabella and cried, "Isabella, take me home. I want to go home!"

Susan had always been independent and strong, never breaking down like this. Her current wailing left Isabella at a loss. Isabella could only hold her and pat her back, comforting her, "Okay, I'll take you home right away!"

Then, Isabella took Susan by the hand and got into a taxi.

Susan seemed lost, her eyes empty and lifeless, staring blankly out the car window. She cried silently, tears streaming down her face.
