Chapter 304 Enemies Meet

Hearing Isabella's words, Susan couldn't give a damn about Seb's stare and immediately locked eyes on Dominic, who had just strutted in.

Dominic was your average Joe in height, rocking a beer belly and a shiny bald head, but he was dressed to the nines in a white suit and black bow tie. You could spot the bling on his finger from a mile away.

Seeing Dominic, Susan got all hyped. He looked just like his photo, totally recognizable.

But when Susan's eyes landed on the woman dripping in jewels hanging onto Dominic's arm, she was floored!

Sophia?

Yep, the chick clinging to Dominic was Sophia. Susan couldn't believe it and had to do a double-take.

"That's the old dude, no need to keep staring," Isabella nudged Susan, who was gawking at Dominic and Sophia.

"I'm not staring at Dominic," Susan mumbled, lost in thought.

Right then, she felt like facepalming hard. How did she and Sophia keep bumping into each other like this?

Now it clicked. The rich guy Tuva mentioned Sophia hooking up with was Dominic.

No wonder Sophia ditched James so fast.

Gotta hand it to Sophia, she really scored big this time, landing a sugar daddy like Dominic.

At this point, Susan seriously questioned Dominic's taste. How could he be into someone like Sophia?

"Then who are you eyeballing?" Isabella frowned at Susan's words.

"That new wife of his is Sophia," Susan said flatly.

Hearing this, Isabella took another look at the blinged-out woman on Dominic's arm and gasped, "No way, it really is her. I didn't even recognize her!"

Isabella was also shocked to see her. She'd seen Sophia a couple of times, and while they weren't tight, the name Sophia was burned into her brain thanks to Susan's endless stories over the years.

Next sec, a young couple trailed in behind Dominic and Sophia.

Susan was still reeling from seeing Sophia, and Isabella, with a blank look, glanced at the young couple and said, "I swear, you must have some beef with Sophia and Amelia."

Susan looked up and followed Isabella's gaze behind Dominic and Sophia. She was stunned again!

Trailing behind them were Ethan and Amelia, with Amelia clinging to Ethan's arm like a lovesick puppy.

Compared to Amelia's bubbly and glowing vibe, Ethan looked like he was sucking on a lemon, his eyes screaming reluctance.

Seeing Amelia, Susan nodded and said, "Looks like we really do have some beef."

Susan didn't expect to see Ethan and Amelia at this charity shindig, and how the heck did Ethan and Amelia, who had split ages ago, end up back together?

'Wait, how did Ethan and Amelia roll in with Dominic and Sophia? Dominic and Ethan both have the last name Robinson, and they showed up together. Oh right, Ethan's mom Freya passed away recently, and Dominic's wife also kicked the bucket. Could it be that Dominic and Ethan are father and son?' Susan thought.

As this realization hit her, Susan's eyes went wide. What were the odds?

Isabella noticed Dominic and Sophia were glued to each other, mingling with everyone around them, so she said to Susan, "Looks like we'll have to bide our time. Now's not the moment."

"Yeah," Susan nodded.

Then, Susan turned around and grabbed a glass of red wine, but her mind was still spinning with her earlier thoughts.

Sophia was Dominic's new wife, so the one always scheming for cash was Sophia. It seemed like she really had a beef with Sophia and Amelia. No matter where she went, they were always on opposite sides.

Just then, a tall guy in a gray suit walked up behind Susan, his deep eyes locked on her back, wanting to say hi but looking a bit hesitant.

Isabella glanced up and saw the guy in front of her, and couldn't help but exclaim, "Mr. Anderson?"

Hearing that, Susan turned around and saw George standing there.

Seeing George out of the blue, Susan's hand holding the wine glass froze!

They hadn't seen each other for months. George looked a bit thinner, but otherwise, he hadn't changed much. However, there was a hint of awkwardness in his eyes as he looked at her, which made Susan a bit heartbroken.

Back in the day, she and George were super tight, almost like family. Although that feeling hadn't completely vanished, they had definitely drifted apart.

Seeing George and Susan staring at each other, Isabella grinned knowingly and said, "Well, I'm kinda hungry. I'll go grab some cake. You two catch up."

With that, Isabella turned and walked away.

Susan already didn't know how to face George. Seeing Isabella leave, she wanted to call her back, but it was too late, and it wouldn't be cool anyway.

Probably sensing Susan's unease, George looked at her warmly and said, "Don't worry; I'm just here to say hi. I won't bug you."

Hearing this, Susan felt a bit awkward. She tucked her hair behind her ear and said, "That's not what I meant."

"How have you been lately?" George's eyes were still full of concern, but he had managed to keep his emotions in check.

"Not bad," Susan nodded with her head down, feeling a bit uneasy.

"Is Spring doing well?" George asked.

"Very well. She's grown taller and can say more words now," Susan replied, looking up.

"That's good," George nodded.

At that moment, they both fell silent for a few seconds, like they had nothing more to say.

Seeing this, George smiled, his smile tinged with bitterness. "I have a few friends over there. I'll go join them."

"Okay," Susan nodded.
