Chapter 82 See You At The Vital Records Office

Susan had the taxi driver drop Isabella off first, then headed home herself.

The moment she stepped into the foyer, Kathy rushed over, whispering excitedly, "Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Anderson is back and waiting for you in the living room!"

Susan's heart skipped a beat. Wasn't Seb out buying a ring with Cynthia? How did he get back so fast? Were they in such a hurry to get married that he rushed back to finalize the divorce?

She changed into slippers and walked into the living room. Her eyes briefly met Seb's. She walked to the sofa, tossed the diamond necklace box onto the coffee table, and sat down.

"Just say it, what do you want?" Susan's face was cold.

"This is my home. Do I need a reason to see my wife?" Seb frowned.

Susan let out a cold laugh. "If I remember right, this wife of yours hasn't seen you for a whole month, right?"

Seb was at a loss for words, which Susan took as him having nothing to say.

"Or are you upset that I spent a hundred grand today?" She had spent that money to let Seb know she was at the mall and had seen him with Cynthia.

Seb glanced at the diamond necklace box and said dismissively, "Do you think I care about you spending a hundred grand?"

"Yeah, you don't care. I know you have plenty of money. You wouldn't even blink at buying a million-dollar ring for the one you love," Susan said sarcastically.

"Today, Cynthia and I..." Seb started.

But Susan cut him off, "I don't want to know anything about you and Cynthia. If you're here to talk about divorce, I agree!"

Seb's frown deepened. He stared at her for a moment before slowly saying, "You've been looking forward to divorcing me, haven't you?"

"Shouldn't it be you who's in a hurry?" Susan suddenly raised her voice.

She couldn't stand Seb wanting a divorce but still trying to put the blame on her. When did Seb become so hypocritical? She never thought he was a man who wouldn't own up to his actions!

Seb slowly stood up and approached her step by step.

Seb's approach made Susan's hair stand on end. How long had it been since they had been this close?

The next moment, Seb suddenly reached out, grabbed her shoulders, and lifted her from the sofa!

"What are you doing?" Susan's voice trembled.

Seb's brow was tightly knit, and his face was stern. She was a bit scared of him.

After a moment of tension, Seb finally spoke, "As long as you have no further contact with Henry, we can continue as if nothing happened!"

For a moment, Susan was stunned. She stared at Seb for a long time before realizing what he meant.

She used all her strength to shake off his hand and questioned, "What do you mean by that? Let me make it clear, Henry and I are just friends, nothing inappropriate!"

Divorce was divorce, why did Seb have to insult her even at the point of divorce?

Susan's reaction made Seb put his hands in his pockets. He said expressionlessly, "You were all lovey-dovey at the community gate. Do you think I'm an idiot?"

Hearing this, Susan was stunned and immediately recalled running into Henry at the community gate a few days ago.

So Seb had seen them. For a moment, Susan opened her mouth but didn't know how to explain. Did she even need to explain?

But her silence seemed like guilt and helplessness to Seb. He questioned, "Do you want to go to him after divorcing me?"

"Don't you want to divorce me? You were already with Cynthia before divorcing me. You sent me to Butterfly Hill, that remote place, just because I was in your way. Seb, if you want a divorce, just say it. You don't need to put all the blame on me and act like the victim. When did you become so hypocritical? If you want to be with Cynthia, I'll let you. After all, we didn't get together because of love in the first place." Susan shouted, voicing the grievances she had held for so long.

Seb stared coldly at Susan, shock in his eyes. He probably didn't expect that in Susan's eyes, he had become such a person.

After a while, he nodded and said, "Fine, since you want a divorce so much, there's no need for us to live together anymore."

"You're the one who wants a divorce!" Susan roared.

"It doesn't matter who wants it. The result is the same. See you at the Vital Records Office at 8:30 tomorrow!" Seb stated, then turned and walked away.

After he left, Susan felt a wave of dizziness. She collapsed onto the sofa, tears already streaming down her face.

Kathy quickly came over and advised, "Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Anderson just backed down to you. Why are you still so stubborn? Go after him. He hasn't gone far yet!"

Susan couldn't help but laugh bitterly. With a sobbing tone, she said, "Is he back down to me? He was clearly insulting me."

Kathy shook her head and sighed.

At this moment, Seb hadn't left. He was just standing in front of the foyer, having heard the conversation between Susan and Kathy.

Earlier, he had been furious, but he still held back his emotions. After all, Susan was weak after childbirth and couldn't get upset. But Susan's constant misunderstandings left him no choice but to leave quickly. In his haste, he had said to meet at the Vital Records Office at 8:30 tomorrow.

In fact, he regretted it as soon as he reached the foyer, but there was no turning back. His innate pride and self-respect wouldn't allow him to go back.

He had hoped Susan would regret it and chase after him, but she had made up her mind and wouldn't look back. Seb smiled wistfully before walking out the door.

Susan hadn't eaten all day. Although she didn't cry until dawn, she did cry for a long time.

In fact, she also regretted it. If she had agreed not to contact Henry anymore, would Seb really not divorce her, and they could continue living together?

But this was just a hypothetical scenario. Her pride would never allow her to agree to such an absurd condition, nor would she tolerate sharing Seb with Cynthia. No matter how much she loved him, this was her bottom line!
